Today is the 25th anniversary of 9/11. If today, of all days, you cannot be respectful, mind your language because somebody doesn’t share your political beliefs, and refrain from asking dumb arsed questions that are deliberately inflammatory, I find that pathetic.

I have zero tolerance regarding drivel.

Zero tolerance.

Zero respect.

Also point of fact: I can like whatever I choose or dislike whatever I choose because my blog and my blog’s Facebook page are mine. My thoughts don’t belong to other people as far as what they think I should write or not write about.

I also am increasingly intolerant of people who want to be deliberately ignorant.

A lot of the ignorant don’t remember what it was like right after 9/11.

People came together.

People were united.

It didn’t matter what political party was your choice. It didn’t matter what the color of your skin was or your religion, people put everything aside and united. Whether we were born here or immigrated here we were all Americans after 9/11.

Today of all days, people should try to put their political pettiness aside, but that is all I have seen on social media and elsewhere. I even saw it reflected in the 9/11 ceremonies. Today, everything I have seen has been about that fateful day except what I saw down in Washington DC, which was basically a contrived current administration circus.

Of course that circus and its petty ugliness can be reflected every day in our nation’s capital. Washington DC has never been perfect, because it is not only the center of American politics, but built on a literal swamp as well as the figurative one. But Washington used to have its own grace and charm from the monuments we know so well, and the famous buildings to the quirky streets of Georgetown, or the cool neighborhoods of Southeast.

The Washington we see today? It just reflects the ugliness of the administration. Every time we turn around there’s something more garish or grotesque planned. Or trees cut down and rose gardens designed by Bunny Mellon decimated.

And I am sure there will be people that will ballyhoo about this post. Guess what? I don’t care.

I am tired of the ugliness in our area and country. I am tired of people attacking each other because they have different identities and aren’t all twinsies. I am tired of people attacking each other because they have different political belief systems.

This 9/11 falls in the 250th anniversary year of this country and as Americans, we should be embarrassed that this is what this country has devolved to.

I continue writing today about this important date in our history because I’m also disappointed in the yackety yack don’t talk back of our politicians and elected officials. They talk the talk, but they never walk the walk. We see that by looking no further than some of our local communities.

In East Whiteland Township, for example, elected officials have the ability to deal with a data center developer only it’s like they’re too afraid to do that? They are also being lead around by the nose by some of the people they employ. And then, of course, there are certain Great Valley Democrats, who want to rule the world, but really can’t and they love data centers.

In Westtown Township, residents suffer with the tyranny of the elected officials. Except it’s really one elected official who controls the rest. And when the historic commission disagreed with decrees from on high what happened? Oh they were banished weren’t they? Off with their heads!

In West Pikeland Township there is one elected official who seems to think it’s her life’s mission to destroy a dedicated memorial and part of a local park? She makes pathetic speeches at meetings and wants everyone to think she’s some kind of a victim when she’s the villain in this play and why is that? Is this just because she needs attention? Well is this the attention she wants?

In West Vincent, elected officials and the township manager seems to want to hide from everything? But even when it’s quiet, people know it’s not what it should be don’t they? What’s bubbling below the surface?

In East Pikeland the howdy doody haired “king” is more and more like the joker isn’t he? The king needs to be dethroned and he’s been the chair since 2009 and what does that Township have to show for it? They have a really big EPA site called the Kimberton Super Fund site that they don’t like to talk about much do they? They have a manager that devoted like a good couple decades of her career and was disappeared? How does that work? Isn’t isn’t it past time to clean house in East Pikeland from the elected officials to the interesting departments? I guess the biggest thing I do not get about this municipality is how the majority of the residents are so content being sheeple?

And then we go to Honey Brook. Two out of the three elected officials are rather vile. They have a new manger who seems competent but how long will she be able to stand it and how does that bobble headed solicitor still have a job? This week we saw the majority of the supervisors completely unwilling to champion their residents in favor of a developer and no one is surprised so who will they point fingers at as more accidents occur around a development area that needs traffic calming measures?

And also people in Honey Brook and the surrounding area are now questioning who in the Twin Valley School Board of it all seems in favor of whatever oddness is happening in New Morgan? Who stands to gain what specifically and isn’t that an interesting question?

Tredyffrin of course is in full “nothing to see here” mode but that is not true is it? Any other naming rights that anybody wants to get out of their system? Or how about the fact that can we call it racism being a motivator as to why they won’t ever seem to deal with the off-campus student housing issues of it all in Mount Pleasant? In this municipality, they would benefit from a manager change because being Bashore-lite (late of Radnor) isn’t a place anybody wants to be is it? Also, are they really home rule charter anymore?

In Willistown you have people in an uproar again over Rock Hill Farm. Will the township settle with the developer or not? The lawn sign and T-shirt crowd really wants them to save the land, but do they have any reality that they live with as to what the land is worth versus what a township even like Willistown can afford? The whole situation sucks but in the end, I think that’s going down to development. Maybe if the residents had lawyered up early on, but now isn’t it all just too late? honestly I really wish it could all be preserved, but maybe they will be able to preserve some of it? Oh, and then there’s the West Nile virus sampling taken at a park.

Anyway I have now vented my spleen completely on 9/11.

As a country, we need to be better and do better; same for our region.

And I’m tired of the asshat parade on social media. If you don’t like what I write, don’t read it.
