get ready to vote…in east whiteland

My ballot was slightly mutilated, but it arrived. I have already filled it in. Especially the additional supervisors question.

My impetus?

The data center.

Why?

Two supervisors whom in my opinion are afraid to say no, and a third who is a total nasty to residents, a form of sell out.

Members of the Great Valley Democrats literally went to community signing events to stop the ballot question from reaching the ballot (former supervisor Bill Holmes and former VP of ChesCo Dems Jerry Pyne). Now they are saying nothing…but in my humble opinion we know that they are most probably still quietly trying to quite literally stop the public from what they have the right and legal choice to want.

The other thing to note is the Vacancy Board chair in East Whiteland is Jerry Pyne right? So that makes him a tiebreaker in case a supervisor gets incapacitated, and it also gives him the ability to appoint someone, correct? So is it so far-fetched to think that if something happened he might appoint Bill Holmes again if the opportunity arose?

Now the East Whiteland Republican committee is busy, busy, busy posting Trump BS and sharing disbarred Rudy Giuliani posts and circulating their version of a sample ballot where they say no to 2 additional supervisors.

It kind of blows my mind that they are actively soliciting Republicans to say no to this because it’s actually an opportunity for them to level the playing field in East Whiteland because they aren’t getting any traction otherwise.

It is possible that it is a curiously just East Whiteland thing that both political parties are freaking out at the idea of two more supervisors. The politics in this particular township are not particularly enlightened and there has always been deal making between the two parties hasn’t there been? At different points in time I have almost felt like it’s a giant political party named Pat (like the Saturday Night Live skits of years past ) not really one thing or the other, but both.

East Whiteland residents will hopefully take this opportunity to push back where they can. The township has grown exponentially since inception of local government, and there needs to be more representation. Whichever political party ends up on the top of the dirt pile depends entirely on them. It would be nice to see supervisors who were registered independents.

But that’s a conversation for another day. I do believe there are people willing to run. We just have to get two more supervisors added.

So if you are a mail in ballot person, it’s easy same as if you vote in person. Say YES to two more supervisors and consider saying NO to Kristine Howard if you can manage it.

Make the future what you want.
