east whiteland planning commission members do not seem to be fans of open government?

On January 27, 2026, Planning Commission Bob Logan (seen far left in above meme) wrote:

So allow me to be clear: even before Bob Logan was on the planning commission (and it still escapes me that they took him on and yes I can have that opinion) I thought he was a bloviator. I do not care for him. At all. I encountered him years ago at various meetings and in local groups. So this showed up in a right to know someone sent to me because I was mentioned by him like an escaped convict IMHO.

In all fairness, there was another email in the batch with a similar feeling shall we say, although it did not mention me by name. This was what the vice chair of planning said:

So I knew the planning commission didn’t want to be camera ready. And did I ask for East Whiteland to start streaming and recording Planning Commission Meetings? YES I DID. It is merely transparency and good government, something which seems to be sorely lacking at times, yes?

We ARE the public, why should we be denied access, Bob??

I will note that East Whiteland has seemingly stopped recording the planning meetings which means they are probably back to random things that they were doing here and there which IMHO I felt they should not have been doing- allow me to be clear: not about planning stuff per se but the quasi political utterances and moments of silence that had ZERO to do with a planning commission and I am not the only one who heard these things, right?

So Bob Logan, who essentially lives fairly close to me acts like I am a second class citizen proposing something bad or dangerous because I am blogger? I guess if I just stood quietly at my stove stirring a bad stew I would be more palatable to him? Ha! I wear it as a badge of honor that he doesn’t like me. But Bob? I am a resident and taxpayer too. I believe in open government and the reason I asked for those meeting especially earlier this year to be zoomed/streamed is because they were about the data center and they were meetings that were often over capacity almost weren’t they? I hope Bob doesn’t decide to run for Supervisor some day don’t you?

This is the list of Planning Commission members and highlighted were the ones who showed up in the right to know as being against recording the meetings which to be honest is not an unusual municipal occurrence except here:

So what are they afraid will happen if meetings are recorded? If I was a supervisor or manager type person in East Whiteland I would have every meeting streamed and recorded for the planning commission. If they kick up a fuss about a meeting being recorded that is suspect. And yes, I can have that opinion. And members of boards in a municipality who aren’t all about transparency and open government? Kick those anti-sunshine folks to the curb.

These little love notes from the planning commission will have me share the meeting recordings that do exist and the right to know which also shows when East Whiteland changed engineering firms if that is of interest.

So little old me the 2nd class citizen is signing off…for now.
