summer

Every time a developer promises glory, remember photos like this. This is what we fight to preserve, this is what more people should want to preserve. Once views like this are plowed under for development they never rise again. Views like this is why we need to slow down development.

  1. Question…how can we prevent developers from waving money in the faces of landowners? Once farmers pass away, families don’t want the farm any more. They’re land taxed to death and probably want to leave the area or have homes of their own. So, the developers circle over head until the families give in. Don’t know what the answers are. It’ all about money. I love green too…green fields, green trees.

    • Sigh…I wish I had the answers. Part of the answer lies in local zoning. Part of the answer lies in the outdated municipalities planning code. Part of it lies with all of us to encourage keeping more of our agricultural heritage going and encourage land preservation. And yet another part comes from the US as a whole valuing our farmers more and not continuing to sit idly by while government taxes the crap out of them.
