I am so angry as an Independent Voter in Chester County right now. According to Chester County Voters services, we don’t count. Yes, for real, for real. Chester County has now acknowledged somewhat insufficiently they ALL poll books at all precincts THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRETY OF CHESTER COUNTY currently do not include the names of “third-party voters”!
First of all we matter. We are not insignificant, and quite frankly the numbers of Chester County Independents is sizable.
This is bullshit and yes I am cursing.
Karen Barsoum has one job: to protect the voters of Chester County. She’s not doing it. She has incredibly high staff turnover for one. Why is that? Well watch this video:
Karen Barsoum has ONE job as head of voter services , to keep voters and their votes safe. To maintain integrity of our elections. This is an inexcusable mistake. It is wreaking havoc county wide.
She needs to GO. Whether she resigns or is let go, it needs to happen.

I mean why in the actual hell are there so many overlords in Chester County Government if they can’t seem to keep tabs on this woman? She isn’t doing her job. Elections and voting are bad enough, we don’t need Karen Barsoum continually making it worse. Period. Full stop.

I’m also an independent and today was my first time using a provisional ballot.
Being highly frustrated, which actions do you think would be helpful for me to do? I wonder if the exclusion of a whole voter category from the poll books something we should file an election complaint to the county and state?
I’m also thinking of notifying my state representative and senator, or asking the press to write about this (Daily Local).
I know I called each of the commissioners and complained. I filed a complaint with Voter Services, called my Representative and complained. Yes by all means everybody who was impacted should complain to as many people as possible. I demanded Barsoum be fired. This was voter interference at its finest.
This is not the first time that Chester County under the careless leadership of Director Karen Barsoum has mishandled an election. In May Ms. Barsoum failed to ensure that the candidates for Prothonotary were on the primary ballot.
This is what happens when an incompetent director hollows out the department through firing and resignations. Roughly 150% turnover in 4 years.
You’re doing these people a favor by calling this incompetence. To much of this is happening, and Karen needs to be investigated for election fraud. Thousands and thousands of votes are in in provisional balloting and not being counted tonight. They’ll be looked at in a week.
You can’t prove fraud until you have the proof to prove fraud and that’s not my wheelhouse.
Many people in line today were registered independent and they just told you’re not in the books and you can’t
vote today. Karon Barosum left off the entire independent group which I believe is close to a third of the county. It will have to be provisional ballot and by law they cant review provisional ballots for 7 days.
