So there is this group called Red Wine, and Blue. I picture them sitting around, whining as they’re wining.
I didn’t even know who or what they were until I think it was a few months ago now. Somehow they got a hold of both my email and my cell phone. I do not give my cell phone out and basically until them I had managed to remove myself from all solicitation lists from both political parties.
My political journey is no secret. I was a registered Republican until 2016. I could not stomach being a Republican when someone became the nominee. I had always been an inveterate ticket splitter my entire life and at that point in time I didn’t want to give up the primaries so I became a registered Democrat.
By 2016 I had been voting more for more Democrat candidates than Republican candidates. I always look at the candidates as individual people I don’t vote because a political party has told me that is what I am supposed to do.
Truthfully, that has been a turn off since the Lower Merion Democrats shenanigans during the early days of eminent domain for private gain in Ardmore. So this one Election Day a friend and I were standing on the sidewalk in front of St. Mary’s Church in Ardmore with other people (it was a poll location back then I assume it still is today), and we watched this Democrat committee woman from South Ardmore come up to this little old lady and tell her not to talk to any of us. This lady had been speaking to us and was looking at our flyer that they would take her into the polls and she could vote the way they told her to.
Anyway, I think I have told five different people from this organization either via email or text message to not contact me. Today they worked their last nerve and I will share the conversation which centered around all of the PA Democrats ignoring their constituents and communities about data centers or fibbing about the topic, but first I will share why what this woman is saying is BS.

RWB woman who phoned named “Sherry” said they lobbied in Harrisburg against data centers? When was that? The Conservation Voters lobby day was for the bullshit bills.
Do you see data centers on there as a priority for protecting Pennsylvania residents? I don’t.
I wouldn’t exactly say that RWB has been “out front on the issue all year” except maybe to use it to promote Democrats? But that’s not the same as working to stop projects and toward a statewide moratorium which is what we need isn’t it?
Maybe she’s referring to the BS bills that were being put forward instead of a moratorium?
Does this organization do some good work? I am told yes. But I really hate the parties and legislators and organizations using this data center issue just for campaigning when they aren’t actually doing anything to protect communities and the environment from this don’t you?
And even worse… they are helping Democrats give the illusion of doing something when they’re not. So they are working against efforts to hold Democrats and Republicans alike accountable and allowing this greenwashing.
Many are of the opinion (and I agree) that the really “big”Green groups like Sierra Club, NRDC, PEC, Conservation Voters of Pennsylvania, Penn Future have a history of compromising in order to have a seat at the table in Harrisburg. I am entitled to that opinion incidentally. 
There is only one big group that doesn’t compromise and that’s Food and Water Watch and other groups like The Delaware Riverkeeper Network. When those people speak with you, you know they are with you and they stand beside you. They don’t compromise.
Even more important is the issue with data centers is not a red or blue issue. This is about human rights. Now, a friend of mine, who believes in this aspect also said to me when we were discussing this today, the following:
I often find that human rights never seems to be of concern to anyone. So I change everything to an economic argument.
In no way is this even economical:
1. The costs to local townships from health and environment from the adverse impacts exceed tax revenue
2. The data center tech is already obsolete. It’s like trying to sell the original IBM main frame computer that took up a room after personal computer came out.
3. Depleting your natural resources compromised your economic stability as a nation. Poor, malnourished people can’t fight wars
This is all a pyramid scheme for Wall Street.
To borrow a phrase from those who organized and stay organized against the pipelines and that issue: this is a defend what you love issue.
And as another friend said to me today as we were discussing this:
Regardless of political affiliation, we all want: to be safe, not have our property ruined or value reduced for corporate gain, quality of life and place, clean air and water, etc…..
And we all expect our government to be putting our best interest first not corporations
The data center fight is waking so many people up across Pennsylvania and the country to how this is not happening.
People this is our world. So don’t be hoodwinked by political fundraising that’s about them and not about us. For midterms season and the election season coming up in November 2026. It’s a simple thing: these people all need to take our position we don’t have to support theirs.
