perhaps the great valley high school principal should consider listening versus punishing?

I have felt since I came to Chester County that Great Valley School District doesn’t see all kids equally. And that includes the immigrant population.

They should. It’s a diverse community, just as we in Chester County are a diverse population. So blondie the principal should know better. But instead I feel she is ruling with a heavy, even petty hand.

I shared before the school stuperintendant’s recent love letter to parents:

This school district doesn’t treat everyone equally and they are thuggish. They are allowing a club that represents a lot of the negative these kids see, and we all see at this point. But they won’t consider other things?

These kids are upset and unnerved by this world. They see kids being separated from their parents in this terrifying era our country finds itself in. So imagine my disgust in reading the following missive from Dr. Seems Like a Hard Ass:

What. A. Bitch.

Let’s get real. Does anyone feel safe protesting these days? Nope. But these kids are feeling like they need to be heard. Why does this principal not get that? Why can’t she find a happy medium like Rustin High School did?

Rustin which is part of WCASD managed a student desired walk out with minimal fuss. They set boundaries and parameters and it was mostly ok. Ironically the “club” which is not about indoctrination that Great Valley just approved has a sister chapter over in West Chester Area School District. They didn’t like it that Rustin worked this out with students. Have a listen and note this post was public:

So I leave it there. I think Great Valley needs to do better. And in the end when a principal rules with an uneven and heavy hand, it doesn’t work so well, does it? Instead of ferreting out whom they deem “bad kids” maybe they should do a listening tour instead?

Great Valley isn’t so great these days.

So Westtown East Goshen police a.k.a. WEGO issued the following statement today via CrimeWatch- I will note they didn’t post it on their socials that I can find.

The Westtown E. Goshen Regional Police Department was asked to review information provided by the West Chester Area School District (WCASD) involving Rustin High School after the resignation of the principal.  No criminal activity was found, and the matter is closed.  For any further information, please contact the WCASD.  Created Jan 6, 2025 @ 1:50 PM | Updated Jan 6, 2025 @ 3:04 PM

So this started mid-December remember?

Michael Marano resigned as the Rustin principal. He’s only the second one I think since they opened the school. And this high school had issues before with the problematic swim coach before Marano came to work there.

So you have the school district are sending out the original notice and then nothing. His wife is also an employee of the school district in and administrative capacity, correct ?

The rumors have been flying since this started. Also flying around? A little teeny weenie snippet of a video that you can’t really prove and yet everybody’s sharing it. I can’t tell you how many people asked me to share it and I said no because I don’t know the man nor can I prove it’s authenticity.

There were even comments received, supposedly from students, but again I don’t know and I’m not going to just publish random comments speculating because nobody knows what went on.

The whole thing is very strange and how does a guy go from being like a superhero principal on the West Chester Area School District Instagram feed a year ago to resigning before Christmas ?

So was he accused of something he didn’t do, or was he accused of something they couldn’t prove? I mean, seriously can we ask at this point given this latest blip out of the police what the sam hell is going on?

If the police have closed their investigation out here then the school district needs to say what’s going on? Don’t they owe that to the parents at a minimum and the students.?

This story right before Christmas made the local TV news and the Philadelphia Inquirer and the Daily Local . And I know that the police department was not super forthcoming because there was chatter with the media, which in and of itself is not unusual because they won’t comment when they’re investigating. But now this is the only comment so is anybody going to tell people what went on?

Anyway, that’s the latest on this great mystery of life with this particular high school.

So last week everybody finds out the guy who was the principal of Rustin resigned.

First, I felt like I was the only person that published anything and then all of a sudden it hit the media.

But since then, it’s kind of been crickets. At least from official channels. The school district isn’t talking and the police / DA aren’t talking.

And in the rest of the local world the rumors are flying fast and furious. So people probably just want to know I think what is fact and what is fiction.

And yes, people know that investigations take time but what did they think was going to happen when all of a sudden a principal up and resigns in a BIG school district and the district sends an email to parents essentially saying he’s out but don’t mind the police visiting the school?

Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police I have heard media have stopping in to visit and are being polite…. I don’t think there’s any way that their entire department can be on vacation so why didn’t they just direct them to this listing they slid up on Crime Watch ? and what does this listing they have up mean exactly? Are teachers or students at risk? or is that something to say but not necessarily true?

Also, how is whatever is going on affecting Marano’s wife? Doesn’t she work at East? And then there is the whole connection both Maranos have to Neumann University in Delco, right?

Whatever the case may be, I wonder how long West Chester Area School District and the Chester County District Attorney’s Office and the police can keep a lid on this before they have to talk about it?

What a crazy year 2024 has been.
