yes, danelo cavalcante is still at large…and other thoughts

The literal world has been focused on this Chester County manhunt. Everyone has been watching the attempts to apprehend convicted murderer Danelo Cavalcante since his escape from Chester County Prison LAST Thursday.

So now they think he’s near Longwood Gardens? Kennett? Chadds Ford?

This morning

I made a comment about people being really sick of this and somebody came back to me with a knee-jerk reaction that I need to cut lawn enforcement a break, that it’s tough terrain out there where they’re searching.

Ummm I’m not being mean or disrespectful or anything to law enforcement. I am merely showing people what I’m seeing. This has been a slog for everyone and particularly scary for residents around the prison and now Longwood Gardens, Kennett, etc. That’s not taking a dig at law enforcement. But hey at least we know the regular old knee-jerk reactions are still mingled in with everything that people in Chester County are feeling right now because a convicted murderer essentially walked away from Chester County Prison.

Then, early this morning if you check the police calls, there were sightings near some lot on Longwood Gardens property. The calls are below from Open MHZ.

Also, in this post are two excerpts from the presser did yesterday by the DA and law enforcement. Deb Ryan sounds angry, tired, and defensive. I guess on one hand I can’t blame her at all because of the questions getting lobbed at her, but on the other hand people are upset that this guy got out of the prison. Deb Ryan didn’t cause him to get out of the prison, and I know they can’t say anything while they’re investigating how these people have been escaping and who’s fault it is, but don’t chide the public.

The other reality I feel sadly is this whole scene is going to play out in the elections this fall as well. How can it not? And it could have a direct impact on those County row people either seeking higher office or maintaining their current office. Now, of course, that has been a very unpopular thing for me to verbalize but it’s kind of just there and I put words to it.

And then there are the people who have to criticize me for sharing live feed I found on Twitter last night from some guy who, yeah, has a past, but last night all he was doing was relaying information, and I found it interesting. I also found it interesting that he had some source inside one of those neighborhoods that the police were doing like the big searches on and it was this kid who was Facebook-living with him I think until other neighbors got upset.

Whatever this guy did in his past, he’s been playing it pretty straight with this and if he’s got cops that are willing to talk to him? He’s not the oracle, no, but listening to it was interesting and even more importantly, he gave the very accurate feel of what it was like being on scene.

A friend of mine said on social media, and I don’t necessarily disagree:

So apparently the escaped murderer is not within the 2 mile radius they had him trapped in. He’s now, or as of last night at 10:30, sight seeing at Longwood Gardens. Um, folks, what are we doing? Dude got himself a backpack and a change of clothes. How exactly does that happen? What are the chances of robbing a man who is also 5’2” and weighs 120 pounds? Seems like someone is helping him. Wonder what is next on his sight seeing tour through Chester County?

I still don’t understand how prison didn’t have a convicted murderer, waiting to go to a state prison, better secured. And I do think the public deserves answers to those questions sooner rather than later.

And then they’re all the other rumors that have been floating around about that prison often on for a couple of years. I am guessing like many other institutions like that, they have problems, but now they have to pay the piper and answer questions. And I would start with the warden who magically got placed on administrative leave two days before this happened and then after this happened resigned so is he falling on his sword? Is he covering for other people? I think the people of Chester County have a right to know.

I think there is a lot of shady crap going on in this county, and I don’t know that it’s necessarily a good thing or just a portent of things to come. And I think both political parties are to blame here. And given the fact that the Democrats are in charge, this would make me question any law-enforcement related elections this fall. Essentially any law enforcement related candidate backed by the current head of the Democratic Party of Chester County would be suspect to me right now.

We are a country that was historically designed on a two-party system. We need balance, and we don’t have balance. All we have are extremes in politics, and it’s not working.

These are just things I’m thinking about. No one has to act or vote or any other goddamn thing because I said so. But I think it would behoove people to become more educated about all political candidates on any level of government.

Now, if this Danelo Cavalcante makes it to Delaware, northern Delaware has a lot of marshes. Southern Delaware has a lot of open land. I honestly go back-and-forth on whether he has had assistance or not, but I can’t help but wonder. Except he is desperate enough that he could be doing all of this on his own. I don’t think he knows the terrain, so I hope eventually this will catch up with him.

I will also say this escaped prisoner has provided interesting Internet sociological studies. These are the situations that show the best and worst of human nature. I will keep sharing things as the spirit moves me because that’s the way I roll. If you don’t like what I’m writing about move on. But some of you need to learn how to be grown-ups.

If you see this guy call. There is a hotline set up that number is: 717-562-2987

Carry on with your lives. Be smart, be safe.

That’s all.
