just another bend in the road….

….As a related aside, apparently my photos start running today on the GIANT screen at Commerce Square in Philadelphia.  They are somewhere in the 9 to 11 A.M. and 5 to 7 P.M. time slots.  If you see them, let me know what you think! I am in the same time slot of photographers like the fabulous Laura Kicey and Betsy Barron Fine Art Photography!

Laura Kicey is a particular favorite of mine – I met her way back when we were both photographing the demolition of Addison Mizner’s La Ronda in 2009 and I have followed her work here and there ever since.  I am honored to be considered good enough to show with the fabulous photographers that Thomas Realty Partners chose to do this!

candid camera

Sometimes the fun of being a photographer is snapping the unexpected and good candids.  These were snapped in Philadelphia…it of course also reflects how attached we are to our smart phones and somewhat oblivious to life around us….

Walking around in Philadelphia always lends itself to interesting candids taken off the public streets…

a photo is worth a thousand words

Saw this in Philadelphia the other day.  Had to snap it.  They weren’t responding to a call. Couldn’t believe they just rolled up and parked next to a fire hydrant, but they did. Anyone else would have received a parking ticket or been towed.

I have a lot of respect for law enforcement and first responders, but seeing something like this is just as bad as seeing thoughtless cell phone yammering Main Line babes parking in handicap parking spaces in shopping districts like Wayne, Bryn Mawr, and Ardmore.

gotta love this

contrasts

We were over hill and dale and back again yesterday. A friend received an honorary doctorate in Philadelphia, and then other friends had a BBQ in Chester County….And in between we were stuck on the Schuylkill Expressway behind a gaper delay of people looking at quite a swath of road lined with the little corpses of Stroehmann Bread – I am assuming somewhere Mr. Stroehmann had an accident because the road was literally lined on both sides and strewn with sliced bread and rolls!

Couldn’t help but notice the contrast of the city and country of my day.
