this is our country and we are entitled to free and fair elections.

A woman on the news just now said we have to keep the faith. And this is in reaction to the racially motivated mass shooting in Buffalo, New York. And then don’t forget the church shooting in Laguna Woods, California.

I think extremism in politics continues to fuel this anger and vitriol in our country. And I think we have to take back our country so we all have an equal voice. We need to use the power of the vote to do that.

Now a little bit about candidates who are just nuts or problematic. Or wrong.

Crazy Senator Doug Mastriano has been endorsed by whom I feel will be remembered in U. S. history as the most destructive and divisive President, the ultimate charlatan and destroyer of the Republican party, Donald Trump. I will also note that Mastriano is doing somewhat secretive campaign events that he isn’t letting the media into. Trump also endorsed other nut bags like Dr. Oz for Senate along with Congressmen Mike Kelly (PA-16), Scott Perry (PA-10), Guy Reschenthaler (PA-14), and Lloyd Smucker (PA-11) .

If there are any Republicans with sense out there, candidates that sought Trump’s endorsement, endorsed Trump themselves, thought January 6 was OK, or were just endorsed by him are the candidates people should RUN from as fast as possible, but will they? There exists a dangerous political cult mentality in this country. It has produced completely whackadoodle candidates like Ron Vogel, who is being propped up by the GOP in Berks county, and is still running in spite of being censured formally in Chester County. Of course the PA state GOP a could have said something but seem to have locked up their collective balls in a drawer somewhere.

Turn to the Democrat side and we have John Fetterman. He had a stroke a few days ago. But I think they kept this under wraps as long as possible, and all reporters across the state are reporting that Governor Tom Wolf is playing dodgeball with as to when exactly the governor’s office knew and what they knew. And that in and of itself is disturbing because Fetterman isn’t just running for U.S. Senate, his day job is number two in Pennsylvania as lieutenant governor. I think this will affect his campaign. Who knows if it will affect the primary, but it will cost Democrats a Senate seat if he is the candidate in the general election because I don’t think people will forget him having a stroke – right or wrong it is a medical issue that can affect a candidate. Of course there is always his wife who really should just keep her mouth shut and not Hallmark Channel herself after his stroke to voters by talking about his big heart. Oh GAK. 🤢 🤮 Barf.

I don’t wish a health issue like a stroke on any human being, but it’s not going to bring a sympathy vote for John Fetterman out of me in any election. I have always maintained I don’t like him as a politician and that will not change.

So let’s talk about the other things that I’ve seen on the news today as we get ready to go into election day for the primary tomorrow. And it’s not all of the horrible commercials that everyone is so sick of just like everyone is sick of the signs spam everywhere. It’s all the media outlets talking about where voters can get help if they think there are problems at the polls etc. And they are already predicting problems getting the tallies in at the end of election day.

I know my vote is counted I voted by mail and it was received and processed. I am still leery of in person lots of things because we are not through with Covid yet, or I should say Covid isn’t finished with all of us. I also quite frankly don’t feel like listening to the crap outside the election polls. I don’t want to hear it from either side. I’m tired of campaign signs. Commercials. Mailers. Palm cards.

I’m also tired of people in certain positions within a local voting area like judges of elections who shouldn’t be out campaigning for candidates yet they are and why? And isn’t that true, West Whiteland Republicans? i’m tired of people doing fake sample ballots so people know how to vote as per their vast knowledge.

Let’s investigate the vast knowledge. Our elections are being controlled by outside factions at this point. Groups that have an interest in playing master puppeteer on both sides of the aisle are trying to control how we think and how we vote.

Enter groups like the Stepford Wives for Totalitarianism. They are prime example number one. Those groups have no basis in our communities they are from outside our region entirely and they are playing God with free and fair elections. Liberty Moms are limited in their actual knowledge of our history, the constitution, election laws. Along with this group there are many others there all the anti-masker anti-vaxxer, anti-this, and anti-that.

If you are anti-anything there is a group or Facebook echo chamber. But these groups and the individuals who run them aren’t necessarily experts in anything. They are being told by other groups controlling these groups from outside our area with agendas as to what to say what to do and how to think.…and whom to vote for.

It isn’t enough to just say we are for or against something, we actually have to get off our asses and get to the polls. Midterm elections in an off-presidential cycle are notoriously low in voter turnout. All elections in an off-presidential cycle election year or notoriously low in voter turnout.

I have said it in so many posts about election cycles that our greatest collective voice is the sheer power of our vote as Americans. The power is within us. Educate yourself with legitimate sources to research candidates, and get out and vote. If you don’t get out and vote you deserve the candidates for office we get stuck with.

And one thing we have to think of with this primary is who is going to represent the voice of women the best and why? Our very rights are at risk as women. why do I say that? Because no matter where you stand on a woman’s right to choose, it should be the choice of individual women to make decisions about their own bodies.

So in closing if you don’t want turds in office, get out and vote. if you don’t want groups from outside our area trying to control where we call home, get out and vote. It’s that simple.

ronnie has been officially censured, so now what?

Ronnie the Rep, Ronnie the Realtor, whatever he wants to call himself has been OFFICIALLY censured. By the Chester County Republican Party as of end of last week.

Yet he still appears to be running as a Republican? So now he is a fake Republican? Or what? And look who loves him? Jerry from the Great Valley School Board meetings? HA! (Figures!)

And to those who think Daily Local Reporter Michael Rellehan is basing articles on what I wrote? Better read again. He did not. I don’t secretly run townships or newspapers, and wow don’t some of you have anything better to do? He is a journalist who has been a journalist for years. Trust me, he doesn’t create articles off of what bloggers write, let alone ME. Be glad there are still local journalists writing. I am.

Here is an excerpt from Michael Rellehan’s latest article. Read it.

It’s official: GOP censures Vogel over posts, reaction

WEST CHESTER — Ron Vogel, a Republican candidate for the 6th Congressional District seat, told the chairman of the Chester County GOP that social media posts attributed to him that are of questionable taste were “no big deal,” and that his intention was to deny their authenticity to reporters asking them — even as he acknowledged that they were his……According to a copy of the censure obtained by the MediaNews Group, the party’s executive committee under the auspices of Chairman Dr. Gordon Eck, demanded that Vogel immediately terminate his campaign and forgo any and all benefits and support that the party was supposed to provide him as one of two recommended candidates for the seat now held by Democratic U.S. Rep. Chrissy Houlahan…..No such action has ever been taken against a local GOP candidate for such high office in recent memory.

Meanwhile, Vogel went on the offensive over the weekend, posting a nearly five-minute-long video on his campaign website saying that criticism against his past social media posts as anti-semitic, sexist and racist were based on “half-truths” promoted by his political opponents……In a conversation that month with committee members and its vice chairwoman, Vogel admitted to sending or receiving the posts many years ago, but that his “political advisors” advised him to “just ignore the situation.” Those he spoke with urged him not to ignore the issue and to address it. But it was not until a reporter from the MediaNews Group began asking questions about the posts in late April that Eck personally spoke to the candidate about the matter, according to the resolution.

However, the Republican Party in Chester County needs to deal with it’s dysfunction. Starting over with new people in West Chester would be a start. It is populated with types who do things there because they seek an office elsewhere, correct? Like you know certain employees who have an eye on a judicial seat after they couldn’t get another office? (Hey don’t shoot the messenger, people talk.)

Even PoliticsPA is talking.

So I have said it before and I am saying it again: The Chester County Republican Party needs to own their part in candidates like this. We saw it LAST year with the school board races. They have very few actual quality candidates, so it’s anyone with a pulse running it seems. (Truthfully, sometimes not much better on the Democrat side where I ask for the primary, does State Rep. Kristine Howard have a pulse?)

People are attracted to candidates like Ron Vogel for all sorts of reasons. A lot of it is people don’t do their own research and seem to act like they have a mental capacity of a gnat. Others, and this has been happening for years in Chester County, feel disenfranchised by their county party so they pick less than stellar candidates to get behind as a way of almost making a dumb ass statement.

At least Chester County Republicans took this step, but Ron isn’t done with them, after all look who he emulates?

I would say at least this ugly chapter of Chester County politics is closed, but reality is “but wait, there’s more.” (We just haven’t seen it all unfold yet.)

asked and answered: ronnie go bye-bye

I love it when my sources are RIGHT!

Ronnie the Rep is back to just Ronnie the Realtor as per The Daily Local. I think I may have had my other post asking up just before the paper published, not totally sure. Actually it doesn’t matter, I am thrilled this is actually true. And it is fascinating that the Chester County GOP actually and apparently exhibited a bit of a spine for once. I credit County Commissioner Michelle Kichline there. And truthfully, the Chester County GOP would be better if she were at the helm there. It’s time for a woman who knows what she is doing. Yes, I just said that out loud.

WEST CHESTER — Ron Vogel, the neophyte candidate for Congress who gained support among area Republicans for his campaign against what he called the “woke far-left mob” has decided to withdraw from his run for the 6th Congressional District seat now held by Democratic U.S. Rep. Chrissy Houlahan.

“I’ve come to the conclusion that running for Congress is not in their best interests and that of my party,” he said in a statement issued to MediaNews Group. “Politics will always be here, but these formative years in my young children’s lives will not. I’ll be spending more time with my family. After all, they’ve put a lot on hold for me over the past five months.

Vogel said his decision came after “mudslinging and ad hominem attacks” against him had escalated and brought “harassment and threats to me and my family.

“I am going to suspend my campaign at this time,” Vogel wrote.

The dramatic announcement came Tuesday, after concerns were raised in Republican Party circles about Vogel’s candidacy when video and text messages attributed to him that contained elements of anti-Semitic messages, sexism and racially tinged language were reported by MediaNews Group. Those messages brought his past into question and elevated worries about his campaign, those associated with the Chester County Republican Party said Tuesday.

Vogel reportedly had communicated his intentions to GOP Chairman Dr. Gordon Eck Tuesday morning after he was told that if he did not drop out, the GOP committee would issue a formal censure against him and withhold its assistance in the May 17 Primary Election, sources who asked to remain anonymous because they had not been given authority to speak for the party said.

Members of the committee’s Executive Board voted against Vogel continuing in the race for the Republican nomination on Monday at a mass meeting of Republican officials, by a tally of 18-8, those aware of the situation said.

The move also came after county Commissioner Michelle Kichline, the GOP’s highest ranking county elected official, and others publicly and privately called for him to step aside and for the party to rescind its support of his candidacy. Kichline called the posts she had viewed attributed to the newcomer were “beyond troubling.”…..Speaking of the process in the party that helped spur Vogel towards his unprecedented decision, a GOP source who also asked to remain anonymous so as to speak freely confirmed that the vote against Vogel remaining in the race was “overwhelming.”

Not only was the subject matter and language of the posts that were attributed to him disqualifying, those speaking in favor of his withdrawal said, but they would leave the party with an unelectable candidate against Houlahan in the fall should he secure the nomination next month.

The emergency meeting at which the vote took place was held at the GOP headquarters in West Chester Monday evening, lasted two hours, and featured chairs of the committees for various geographical areas in the county, party officers, and others. Kichline spoke at the beginning of the meeting, urging the committee to take action against Vogel, but then left the session when its debate began.

Vogel did not appear.

The source described the discussion as “heated” and “emotional,” with Vogel’s supporters arguing against the move and others saying for him to remain would prove damaging to the party. His supporters called news about the social media posts an effort by the party’s establishment, working in connection with the news media, to derail his candidacy.

So bye bye Ronnie for Rep, we hardly knew ye. But I know a lot of realtors and had never heard of Ronnie the Realtor, either. But you seem to work hard at being a Realtor so maybe stick to that for a while? It’s kind of that fabulous line out of the 1988 movie Working Girl when Cynthia played by Joan Cusack said “Sometimes, I dance around my apartment in my underwear… doesn’t make me Madonna, never will.” Maybe take that quote to heart regarding politics, Ronnie?

to ron or not to ron? a burning question (apparently) in chester county

Someone on Twitter said recently that Ron Vogel who is running for US Congress hoping to take Chrissie Houlahan’s seat looked like Alfred E. Neuman from MAD Magazine. Sorry not sorry, it just made me giggle.

Now Ronnie boy has been a bit controversial especially since a Daily Local article came out about his social media before it was I guess scrubbed? Even the Chester County GOP who has been saying O.K. to every nutter running for school boards was not happy. Here is an excerpt:

Around that point I got an anonymous comment to my blog:

I did not write about it on the blog then, but did share the Daily Local article. I didn’t care enough to write about it. This is always a hot congressional seat no matter what political party, there is always drama with a capital D. And today all the unseasoned candidates never, ever seem to get that people read their public social media posts. Heck the past five years or so has been nothing but stupid politician tricks via social media.

So then Ronnie was whipping them up to protest outside a town hall Congresswoman Chrissy Houlahan was having in Phoenixville. His big thing? People had to show proof of vaccination to enter? That is how The Colonial Theater is comfortable and it’s in the district and who doesn’t love that theater? Ronnie the Realtor/Ronnie the Rep? (Yawn!)

He also went politicking to a gun show in Oaks, which is good old fashioned political pandering. He went politicking at First Friday in Oxford, and that is something I abhor. Candidates for political office show up at First Fridays to politick and schmooze off of the hard work of others. People who remember my involvement in First Friday Main Line will remember when I flat out yelled at Septa’s Leslie Richards for doing that one First Friday long ago when she was running for Montgomery County Commissioner along with Josh Shapiro. I think that is seriously crappy. And then of course there is the whole Stepford Wives for Totalitarianism love fest. But still…YAWN.

Then April 22nd is when his social media firestorm broke. The next second same day as article hits, the guy runs a statement from his campaign on Facebook calling the article fake news. Pretty damn amusing considering he was dying to get their attention before.

Ok so apparently as per The Daily Local, that release came from a Washington DC dude named Matt Braynard:

In the rest of Vogel’s statement — which was emailed by Matt Braynard, a Washington-based political strategist and former Trump campaign official — Vogel did not directly address the substance of the posts and instead pivoted to his stance on transgender people.

“Throughout my campaign, I have consistently advocated for the protection of women’s sports and spaces from invasion by biological men,” the statement read. “I believe that our daughters’ athletic programs should not be undermined by allowing men to compete. I believe that women’s restrooms and battered women shelters should not be required to admit biological men, and even women in prison deserve protections from having to share intimate space with men. And I believe all of this should be codified into law.

“This is an issue where Woke Chrissy Houlahan and I have a strong disagreement, but I know the voters of the Sixth District are on my side. Unfortunately, one of my Republican opponents in this race shares Chrissy’s support for the invasion of biological men into women’s sports and spaces and for months has been peddling doctored and wildly out-of-context social media posts attributed to me to try to cancel my candidacy.

“While the Republicans of the 6th District have rejected both this candidate and these bogus assertions, a left-wing, fake news ‘journalist’ who recognizes the threat I am to Chrissy Houlahan has taken the bait and is planning to write an article to try to cancel my campaign. While it’s regrettable that a Republican would resort to CNN-style cancel culture tactics, it’s not surprising that one of Chrissy Houlahan’s media lackies (sic) would try to smear me with fake news.”

~ Ron vogel campaign as per daily local 4/23/22

And on April 23rd, his campaign Facebook page seemingly started using the word “woke.” Have to tell you, I really dislike that phrase. It’s like misusing the world “cool” when someone isn’t – it just makes you cringe, you know?

So I truly haven’t paid much attention, and today had to go looking at stuff. I discovered he was not really talking about other than the Chrissy Houlahan platform:

Well then today arrives. I get another comment:

I don’t know if he is still running or not so it’s a case of to Ron or not to Ron. (He’s still not particularly exciting one way or the other.)

Ron Vogel are you still running for Congress? I got the question, so I am in turn asking you: ARE YOU STILL A CANDIDATE OR IS THAT ALSO FAKE NEWS?

The favor of a reply is requested.
