ronnie has been officially censured, so now what?

Ronnie the Rep, Ronnie the Realtor, whatever he wants to call himself has been OFFICIALLY censured. By the Chester County Republican Party as of end of last week.

Yet he still appears to be running as a Republican? So now he is a fake Republican? Or what? And look who loves him? Jerry from the Great Valley School Board meetings? HA! (Figures!)

And to those who think Daily Local Reporter Michael Rellehan is basing articles on what I wrote? Better read again. He did not. I don’t secretly run townships or newspapers, and wow don’t some of you have anything better to do? He is a journalist who has been a journalist for years. Trust me, he doesn’t create articles off of what bloggers write, let alone ME. Be glad there are still local journalists writing. I am.

Here is an excerpt from Michael Rellehan’s latest article. Read it.

It’s official: GOP censures Vogel over posts, reaction

However, the Republican Party in Chester County needs to deal with it’s dysfunction. Starting over with new people in West Chester would be a start. It is populated with types who do things there because they seek an office elsewhere, correct? Like you know certain employees who have an eye on a judicial seat after they couldn’t get another office? (Hey don’t shoot the messenger, people talk.)

Even PoliticsPA is talking.

So I have said it before and I am saying it again: The Chester County Republican Party needs to own their part in candidates like this. We saw it LAST year with the school board races. They have very few actual quality candidates, so it’s anyone with a pulse running it seems. (Truthfully, sometimes not much better on the Democrat side where I ask for the primary, does State Rep. Kristine Howard have a pulse?)

People are attracted to candidates like Ron Vogel for all sorts of reasons. A lot of it is people don’t do their own research and seem to act like they have a mental capacity of a gnat. Others, and this has been happening for years in Chester County, feel disenfranchised by their county party so they pick less than stellar candidates to get behind as a way of almost making a dumb ass statement.

At least Chester County Republicans took this step, but Ron isn’t done with them, after all look who he emulates?

I would say at least this ugly chapter of Chester County politics is closed, but reality is “but wait, there’s more.” (We just haven’t seen it all unfold yet.)

darling haters make the blogosphere go round…

Sometimes you have to giggle as a blogger. You get certifiable nutbags who leave comments. Some threatening, some menacing, some just plain stupid.

Today I am sharing the stupid variety. First up is “Max”, who got lost in spam from jump. “Max” is offended that I don’t think a college student with no life experience is a serious choice for a school board in GVSD. Let the kid get a job, support a family, pay real estate taxes, and have actual kids in the school district…not be a kid who graduated a couple of years ago (2019). Lauren Dicranian may have made it to the November ballot along with Alex Enderle, but neither are suitable candidates…they just happen to be like all of the other unsuitable candidates the Chester County Republican Party is getting behind because they have so few actually qualified and decent candidates after Trump…and recent scandals of those who loved Trump and have to pay back that cookie jar they had their paws in, well what next?

After Max comes “Suzy” who hit me up around the primary. She did not understand what was private versus what was public on Facebook. She is all for the demented girl power of the now November WCASD candidates on the Republican ballot known as Stacey Whomsley and Ada Nestor known sarcastically as Ms.Q (for QAnon), and again, that’s all that the once venerable Chester County Republican Party can scrape up off the sidewalk as candidates? And did we see the breaking news on CNN yesterday ? (First on CNN: FBI warns lawmakers that QAnon ‘digital soldiers’ may become more violent.)

Then there is the rando from the IP address says Florida. “Tany” who thinks “Democrats are evil and have false flags.” “Tany” kept writing until “Tany” went to spam. “Tany” had written in about my Devin Nunes robo calls post. I will note that after I called my Congresswoman’s office the calls which had been going on for quite a while have stopped. “Tany” also said the calls were actually done by Democrats and supposedly Nunes said they weren’t him. (Newsweek once devoted an entire article on Nunes conspiracy theories as in he has lots of them.) Well I didn’t hear from Nunes or his office about that, so I am going with they originate from him and /or his campaign.

I will also note I have plenty of issues with Democrats. Like why they don’t do more about pipelines and the safety of Chester County and other Pennsylvania residents, but that is a post for another day.

I have always been an equal opportunity offender when it comes to politics. That probably won’t change. Republicans feel I pick on them? Well I was a life long Republican until 2016 and have been aghast as what they have done since then. And let’s talk the lack of plausible deniability for a lot of them over January 6th? Are we going to pretend the Capitol Riots never happened? (Oh check this out about the Internet sleuths hunting down these people.)

And then there is the great and mysterious Republican Women of Chester County Political Action Committee (PAC). They endorse, they proclaim, but who are they exactly? If they are loud and proud why don’t you know who runs it?

Haters of blogs and bloggers is nothing new. We’re not breaking new ground here. What I will never understand is why is their opinion the one we are supposed to pay attention to? Isn’t the world a big enough place for multiple opinions?

Maybe Haters are indeed just confused admirers, after all?

Kiss kiss blogosphere.

life and politics

20131026-133452.jpg

It is now about 24 hours since I found myself ensnared in the last minute politics of haste and vitriol in Chester County. If you are playing blog catch-up see the post prior to this.

As a new resident I find myself the unwitting target of the woman who calls herself chief cook and bottle washer of the Chester County Democratic Party.

The great irony of course in all of this is until yesterday I never knew she existed on the face of this earth. We have never met or spoken.

According to her I am some sort of dragonslayer of Democrats or truth, justice, and the American way. (It gets a little confusing.)

All because I met a woman door knocking over the summer who is running for supervisor in East Whiteland named Maureen Martinez.

And yes that is exactly how and when Maureen and I met. I thought she was nice and as someone who wants to represent people and serve in public office, I liked what she had to say.

I have gotten to know Maureen since then slowly. There is no plan or plot. I am not some paid shill of another political party. We discovered shared interests over the past few months as people becoming acquainted do.

But as this person whom I don’t know tells it, I have known Maureen Martinez for years and years and this is some big plot, and better yet, this is why I moved to Chester County. Nevermind the fact that I fell in love with a man who was once a boy I was friends with in high school. After all. and sadly, often when it comes to politics, the truth doesn’t matter.

But at the end of the day, I have survived harder things, namely breast cancer. I thank all of you who have sent me nice messages of support from both political parties. It heartens me to the goodness of people in the face of fibs and nastiness.

My grandmother always said you should make at least one new friend a year. And Maureen Martinez is someone I am proud to call friend. And I think she will make a terrific supervisor. And she is not running for office so she can use that office to run for yet other offices. To me that is always an important distinction.

Have a great Saturday! It is so beautiful a day!
