so orange is to be the new black for gladwyne’s scott mason, eh?

This is a screenshot sent to this blog that is a public photo,
note the little globe.

It’s a crazy tale, isn’t it?

First of all there’s the whole Main Line of it all and should we just call it for what people think it is? Stealing from customers to keep up with the Joneses in the 19035 ?

And then there’s the thing that this is a man who’s just been convicted of worse but similar to what his father did years ago and what’s up with that? If you figure this man is 66 years old, he was old enough in the mid 70s, etc. to comprehend what his father did, which undoubtedly had a horrible effect on his own family growing up, right? Should we just say apparently not since this is like a twisted repeating pattern of life?

https://www.justice.gov/usao-edpa/pr/gladwyne-investment-adviser-charged-misappropriating-more-17-million-clients-through

What also amuses me about this case is anytime anyone has tried to post any of the articles in any Gladwyne Pennsylvania social media groups since this saga started, the posts get deleted?

Nothing to see here, can’t interrupt life in one of the towns of the Magic Kingdom known as Lower Merion.

It’s always interesting sociologically how people react to these stories. You know they’re all whispering behind their hands, but it’s like they don’t want to admit in public it happened. Wonder what the boys are saying at Squires Golf Club in Ambler or wherever it is?

Gladwyne Investment Adviser Charged With Misappropriating More Than $17 Million From Clients Through Two Long-Running Fraud Schemes

So many questions, right?

Honestly, I don’t feel sorry for the man. I go back to the fact he’s 66 years old. He’s old enough to remember how what his father Melvyn Mason did to at least his family must have felt right?

Newspaper archives contain the sins of the father and the Prudential Bache scandals of the 1970s don’t they?

So did Scott Mason have to choose this path he will now forever be remembered for? I mean adults are suppose to know the difference between right and wrong, right? After all it’s what you teach your kids or are supposed to/try to, right?

So supposedly Scott Mason gets sentenced in May. Wonder what his wife knows? And you have to wonder what happens to the rest of his immediate and extended family because of his actions including his father? And what will happen to the people he stole from?

I truly feel sorry for his kids (their worlds must be so blown up, he’s their dad) as well as obviously sorry for his victims.

I also feel sorry for the charitable institutions and any nonprofits affected by his actions and what about his alma mater Hobart William Smith College in Geneva, New York? And if he is a slumlord landlord up there, what happens to the students who have rented properties from him? Do they stay in their places and the bank just takes over or what happens?

So many questions….still. So much squandered by this man who has had so many legit opportunities and is this the legacy he will leave his kids and grandchildren? And you have to wonder if before any of this happened if his kids even knew what his father had gotten up to when he was a kid? This is like a real life NetFlix series it’s so messed up.

I will begin to end this with it’s astounding. He took a sledgehammer to so many lives by his actions, including his own. In fact, greed is not good. Did Scott Mason think he was Gordon Gekko or something?

And to the 19035? Y’all were better before the nouveau invasion. The entire Main Line was.

Hopefully people will learn from this, but our society seems so lost and divided, I just don’t know. Until then, orange is the new Main Line black, right?

2025 is 8 years anna maciejewska is missing

Anna with her son Andrew

In April, it’s EIGHT years. I have been writing about this for eight years. I don’t even know how many times I’ve written about Anna Maciejewska at this point.

Eight years of nothing much. This case has gone through and has seemingly been forgotten by now three District Attorneys in Chester County.

Eight years of wondering what the Pennsylvania State Police are doing or have done.

Eight years of her husband Allen Gould being a person of interest unless the police have released him from that category?

I mean, I know the wheels of justice are slow, but do the wheels of justice even give a shit about this anymore? And yes I cursed.

This is also eight years of a little boy not having a mother in his life and he’s probably forgotten her voice by now don’t you think?

I’m writing about this again because there’s a new video out about it. I’m not sure how I feel about the video because one of the things that this podcaster mentioned is that Anna was jealous of her son and that was a reason for a bad marriage? I think that’s a bit of a reach. The woman sadly also is probably not familiar with the area because she conflated Malvern in Charlestown Township where Anna lived with Malvern Borough.

Malvern is a name assigned to areas in multiple municipalities which is separate from Malvern Borough. She conflated all of that into Malvern Borough. Also, we’re not a suburb of Philadelphia we’re Chester County. Development being what it is we have become more of a suitcase, community for major metropolitan areas, yes, but there’s plenty of business out here in its own, right. Anna Maciejewska lived in Malvern Charlestown Township. Malvern also exists in Willistown, East Whiteland, and Tredyffrin.

It’s now been eight years and this has gone through three district attorneys and the same old state police. It’s like nobody cares anymore.

Do I think like this woman seems to think the visits to Poland were unusual? Well, maybe if she had former Polish natives as friends she would see how normal it is my friends go once a year for a fairly long chunk of time usually in the summer, they take their children. They take their spouses. Sometimes they don’t take their spouses, but they go home to spend time with family and to give their children exposure to their Polish heritage.

Do I think that she was going to run away with her child to Poland to escape a bad marriage? No, I don’t at all. This is a woman who owned two houses. And people said early on that she was the money in the relationship. The properties are still in her name.

And the new podcaster seemed to leave the fact that Anna’s s parents had to fight to get visitation with their grandson. There’s a court record. So I wonder how often Anna‘s Polish family has been able to see her son in the last eight years?

so even if I don’t really agree with everything in this new podcast, I am grateful that the woman did it because it keeps Anna Maciejewska’s name out there.

Anna is still missing and I can’t even think of how long it’s been since we’ve heard from the Chester County District Attorney’s office let alone the State Police. Because Anna still had a property in West Whiteland Township, I wonder if their detectives could take a fresh look at this? Do the State Police have other investigators who could take a fresh look? Outside forensic investigators? A profiler of some sort?

Again, I never knew Anna. But she’s someone who belongs to all of us in the community out here at this point.

I am thinking of devoting my time on the Barry Dee show All Politics are Local on WCHE next week on this. and the funny thing is Barry and I had talked about this before. I saw this new podcast. She’s just been on my mind because we know the anniversary of her disappearing is coming up.

Anna deserves justice and her family deserves closure. Say her name.

Anna Maciejewska is still missing.

evil spying laptops: when something a community lived through becomes a docuseries

Never underestimate the power of community. A friend sent me an article this morning. Evil spying laptops that happened in Lower Merion Township is a docuseries.

To me? Oh how cool- the person (can’t remember their name) scouting for this initially contacted me because I blogged about it back then under Save Ardmore Coalition about evil spying laptops, I connected him to a friend from LMVUE who connected them to other people a while back and the end result? This. Never knew it would be Mark Waglburg thing. Yes he’s behind the series.

My friends and I always had the opinion that the kids in the case weren’t the only ones who had it happen to them, we always thought there were many more kids but these were the ones whose parents came forward. After all there were thousands of photos.

However, one kid’s parents’ issues became part of what was the story of this case. What the kid went through should never be diminished because of the actions of the adults in his life at the time.

I can tell you that this docuseries coming out is going to be very hard on the people who had to live it, but I am hoping that because Mark Wahlberg is behind it that it will be a story told the right way.

I was not part of the interviewing process for this docuseries because I told the person who initially contacted me that it wasn’t my story to tell because at the time I didn’t have kids in the school district, I was just writing about it as an issue locally. I was a community activist and a blogger there before I moved out here And became the blogger that everybody likes to complain about. But when it came to that, I didn’t think it was appropriate for me to speak about it. The people to speak about it are most appropriately the people that truly lived it not just people like me who observed it happening in the community.

But the thing is when people tell their story sometimes something good will happen and I’m hoping something good will happen here because if people see this, maybe it will be stopped in all the other places it’s still happening.

For those of us who lived through this back then either as a parent of a directly affected child or just as a community member thinking how could a school district be violating rights like this, it changed out we looked at computers. I don’t think any of us will ever have a camera on a laptop or a desktop that doesn’t have a cover over it, even if it is just a post it note.

And I will also note that I felt back then there was a very racial component to this whole thing as well, and I hope that the series covers that. Again, when I was initially contacted about this, I sent them to LMVUE people not the Robbins family whom I did not ever know.

Deadline: ‘Spy High’ Docuseries From EP Mark Wahlberg Lands At Prime Video

By Katie Campione

Philadelphia Inquirer: Lower Merion’s notorious ‘WebcamGate’ scandal to become an Amazon docuseries Mark Wahlberg is executive producing ‘Spy High,’ a four-part series premiering this Spring. by Rosa Cartagena Published Jan. 27, 2025, 3:05 p.m.

Please note that although the Inquirer characterizes this as a “dark period” in Lower Merion School District history, it’s hardly been the only dark period in this screwy school district.

LMVUE (Lower Merion Voices United for Equity in Education) which was also integral to this was a group of residents and parents who deserve a lot of credit here. They went against the school district initially for redistricting, and they did a lot of other things to help parents and students in the district, including having a big voice here with evil spying laptops.

I know when it comes to this, that a lot of people are upset that this one family seems central to perhaps even this docuseries – but again even if the parents were slightly less than did, the kids deserve laptops spying on them? No, they did not. So whatever the motivation was that caused these parents to become a lead in this and a face in this, perhaps if they hadn’t been so vocal, would this have gotten so far? It’s a double edge sword isn’t it? And I do think that if they hadn’t been so out in front on this, maybe it wouldn’t have gotten so much attention.

However, I wonder if it will go into one of the other characters who were there when this happened? And one person is the guy who parents wanted out in Wallingford Swarthmore school district correct?

But to people out there who think they can’t make a difference in their community, it can happen.

And we never referred to it as WebCamgate, it was always evil spying laptops.

Thanks for stopping by and see articles linked below.

laura smith of towamencin township montgomery county, pa needs to resign

Laura Smith, Vice Chair of the Towamencin Board of Supervisors in Montgomery County, PA is a rather unfortunate woman who thinks making the Nazi salute on TikTok is funny.

Well now she is an internet star ⭐️

Only her TikTok account laurasmith6036 has seemingly disappeared?

Gosh was it something she said?

Do the Jewish members of the Montgomery County Republican Party approve of this behavior? Do the rest of the Towamencin Board of Supervisors find her behavior acceptable?

Here’s how you can ask them:

I think Laura Smith should take her pathetic nasty ass off of that board and resign, don’t you? I doubt she will but it’s a nice thought.

I don’t understand why anyone with a brain would think that it’s okay to give a mock Nazi salute. I just don’t.

This is not OK.

The media is starting to wake up to this new TikTok star…

https://northpennnow.com/news/2025/jan/24/towamencin-supervisor-going-viral-for-tik-tok-video-mimicking-alleged-nazi-salute-a-la-elon-musk-at-inauguration/

What I don’t understand about people like Laura Smith is her candidate of choice was duly elected President of the United States. Why isn’t she happy? Why does she do something so horrible?

She’s now just another elected official who has betrayed the public trust. She is also obviously lacking a moral compass. Hell she should run for Congress and go sit next to Marjorie Taylor Greene.

She gave a lame cover her ass statement that showed up in North Penn Now Community News:

Laura Smith is truly ignorant antisemite at a bare minimum. Don’t be like Laura.

one ringy dingy…

I received a rather amusing email yesterday. It was from someone named Quentin Mills from the “Student Loan Debt Department.”

I mean wow talk about a blast from the past, right? I’m 60. I haven’t had student loans in like 30 years! It’s like getting carded in a bar, right?

So I decided to call up my new friend Quinton.

My next new friend was named Christian. He wasn’t particularly articulate and you could tell he was slouching on the phone desk.

So since Christian didn’t seem to want to hook up with a 60 year old, I decided to call back! This time I got Evan. He was much nicer, but he couldn’t wait to get me off the phone.

Now, these are scams. this one was at least rather amusing as well as preposterous. However there’s also another scam roaming around Chester County in particular and it’s people calling you up claiming they are calling from the Chester County Sheriff’s Department and you missed jury duty. Just hang up, unless of course you want to ask them if they’re going to give you a ride home from bail processing after they arrest you.

I have a prediction that things like this are going to become more prevalent over the next four years and it’s just kind of the world we live in.

But Quentin Mills, wherever you are, honey I did try to call you like you asked…. I’m sorry if I wasn’t your target audience, and that I called your little children back and had a little fun.

Happy Friday, everyone . Stay warm.

MORE apartments for malvern borough?

Malvern Borough King St – other side from Flying Pig – a lot has been empty for a few years, and now construction fencing is up and it looks like foundation digging?

It used to be before it was an empty lot, a row of buildings. The buildings at the time were historic to the borough, but they were in such bad shape. They had to come down. I do know that much because I remember when they were torn down, but then at one point pre-COVID it was a giant apartment tower thing proposed and then that idea went nowhere, but did it really?

So someone tells me that there’s another kind of apartment thing in the works. Shops below and like 30 apartments above, so it’s another one of these fairytales of live work play because you know you can afford to work minimum wage in the shop below and rent the overpriced department above, right?

I’m sorry did I sound sarcastic? I meant to sound sarcastic. If it was maybe small like a dozen units and stores I would say OK that will be at least in keeping with probably human scale in the Borough of Malvern.

Here’s hoping Malvern can get it together enough to stay on top of this. They have yet another new manager who came in at the end of 2024 and I hope she realizes Chester County is a different beast from Delaware County. She is a commissioner in Upper Chichester and used to be Manager in Darby Township.

Malvern Borough is one of those places where they try to keep things on the down low, nothing to see here. I am a particular fan at the moment of the Mayor of Malvern Borough who liked a post the other day that was literally bashing me on Facebook. That’s so very professional for a man I’ve never met. And the amusing thing is the post was just because, literally…a woman I had never even ever interacted with.

Yeah Mr. Mayor, I see you. Maybe it’s time to just retire completely?

30 apartments is going to be fairly tall. And Malvern Borough seems to forget the last time they got something they didn’t like called Eastside flats which really aren’t wearing very well are they?

Apparently the development has a lot of variances needed so right now they’re just digging a hole in the ground, which of course is very attractive with the bright orange construction fencing, which really isn’t too hard for kids to get into. I might add.

Oh, and the 30 apartments? 31 bedroom units and if you’ve seen most of the one bedroom apartments being built today, they are very urban style. In other words there’s not too terribly much room for you to even change your mind. Nothing is affordable because God forbid you have affordable units as an affordable housing. It helps create and keep a more transient society, which isn’t good for overall areas because people don’t know the history they don’t care about the history they come and they go depending on the rent increases. Ask people in the Summerhill development in West Whiteland for example, ok?

Of course this evening is the public hearing in East Whiteland that you can zoom or attend in person about the repurposed office building over on Swedesford. It is another live work, play fairytale and it’s 220 units.

You know it would be really nice if these municipalities especially when they are in the same school district would actually work together better on how many development units were coming. Between the municipalities and a couple of school districts you have to wonder when Great Valley School District in particular is going to end up like West Chester Area School District , or Downingtown…or huge. And in the case of Great Valley, it’s kind of like Tredyffrin. Where are they going to put more schools? Oh wait in Tredyffrin they repurposed one of these godforsaken obsolete office parks into plans for a school!

So all the people without reading comprehension are going to just say once again I am anti-development across the board. And that’s not it. I am anti-bad planning and I am anti-ugly developer profit driven cram plans.

Communities need to allow for some development to keep moving forward. The problem in Pennsylvania is it’s too much development because the municipalities planning code hasn’t been updated since 1969.

Rant over.

why do we care about a tiktok ban? it’s just a political stunt, after all, isn’t it?

OK, that’s pretty funny. They actually banned it….for a few hours 🤣

Do we really care?

We shouldn’t – it’s stupid.

I mean, maybe the teachers over at Great Valley Middle School care because if banned there are no more videos of them anywhere right now…until those little “darlings” move elsewhere?

And gosh maybe that guy of gun raffle tickets who spray painted over political signs with the nasty over in West Goshen and is/was on GOP state committee and his wife who used to make those ridiculous May/Decembet he’s not my daddy videos would be upset?

Maybe this is where my age is showing (except I know those older than me who made ridiculous TikTok videos), but I didn’t really use TikTok. Once in a while, I went over and looked at it, but I never got the craze. I just didn’t.

When it comes to TikTok I never got the hype. And “influencers”? I’m sure they can video themselves elsewhere with food hanging out of their mouths, getting free meals and “merch”, and putting berets on their heads like pancakes, right? And heck everyone hawking Laura Geller makeup will just stay on Instagram, right? And I don’t think I need to learn how to vomit pumpkins on my front porch on TikTok, either.

So for me this is kind of a fascinating sociological study. All sorts of caterwauling and I think it’s a stunt. A political stunt. And then Jeff Yass will just make MORE money.

And we need to remember who said that it should be banned circa 2020, right?

Y’all are falling for it hook, line, and sinker. Now when they come back, if people just boycotted them for a few days, that would send a message, but like Pavlov’s dog they’ll be right there, drooling.

Byeeee TikTok….for today….yawn.

I did like the New York Times editorial from a teenager however…

CLICK TO READ… (you remember reading right?)

I’m a 17-Year-Old TikTok Junkie. I Need This Ban.

life and living.

This is a post about posts on social media… yes it’s going to snow. No no one really has a damn clue how much because the forecast keeps changing.

Yes they keep sending alerts.

No I don’t know how crowded Wegmans, Aldi, ACME, Shop Rite, Giant, or the WaWa is.

I also don’t know what PennDOT is doing. I do know that if it’s a state road tomorrow, it’s their jurisdiction, so if there’s a hotline within your own municipality, that’s great but all they will do is pass along the state road stuff to the state agency, which is PennDOT. Someone told me I was being mean and obnoxious today because I mentioned that. Don’t ever let facts get in the way, right ?

Of course, then I think it was yesterday that I was clueless because I didn’t agree with what somebody else said on another post.

Social media has devolved into part land of the lost, part land of the deliberately ignorant, and of course it’s like a giant circular file of conspiracy theories and fake news as in actual fake news.

And then the other thing you keep seeing are all of the people who support President-elect Trump like he’s Jim Jones. It’s like they can’t be happy that they have gotten what they want and he is being sworn in as president in a couple of days. Instead, they have to be completely nasty about the outgoing president, Joe Biden, and Kamala Harris, and whoever else raises their ire.

The election is over and I didn’t see any Democrats storming the capital this January 6 did you? Oh and the election? It was certified. However, the election deniers from 2020 are still large and loud and why? It’s not like their guy could have a third term if he had been elected last time, right?

And above all else, if you are so happy that your candidate of choice is the incoming president of the United States why can’t you celebrate that instead of tearing down people in an outgoing administration when you don’t even understand the first thing about government or politics, anyway? And the key thing is they are done, so why keep yammering about them?

I’ve kept my mouth shut to the bullshit since the new year, but it’s time to tell people to get a clue.

We’re all just living our lives at the end of the day, right? Yes I comment on politics sometimes, but I’m finding more and more that I am more disappointed in human nature in the modern era than the bullshit predictability of politics?

Among other things, we are a country without mental health resources, and the medical resources we need in general from area to area and state to state.

People want to sit on Facebook and tear everyone they disagree with apart, yet they don’t want to do anything in their actual community…. that isn’t creepy. Or if they’re doing things in their community that is positive, it’s only when it’s self-serving and the optics are just right.

Once again at the end of the week, the newspaper headlines were about essentially a grifter. A man who took advantage of others and used their money as his own. These things keep happening. A more transient society of people who don’t actually have the institutional knowledge of where they live and who also don’t care about any of the history. And then local print media has all been but destroyed, anyway. Not many read the physical papers and more have moved online, and it’s all locked down behind paywalls.

The future of journalism is bleak, but that’s a post in and of itself.

In Philadelphia, basically a lot of power brokers and city government put Chinatown through hell and then said “Oh oops, sorry we’ve terrified you for how long about putting the 76ers smack dab in the center of where they wouldn’t fit and just forget we said anything.” (Only was this a ploy all along to get what they really wanted at the expense of regular people and neighborhoods? I think so.)

And then, no matter what state you are in, all you see going up are crap apartments and townhouse communities that look like the same formula from one area to the next or warehouses. We were in Delaware today and an area that used to be loaded with farmers fields is growing warehouses.

We can’t seem to get anything done with any form of government and it’s sad. You look at areas around here that are supposed to have historic import and they’re treated like yesterday’s garbage. And so are a lot of the residents.

Going along 202 today before we hit the intersection of 926, I noticed on the edge of those fields that belong to Crebilly, big steel girders. There was too much traffic to take a photo even though I was a passenger in the car, so what are they for?

And then further down on the other side not even sure what county we were in were townhouses right on the edge of what would be 202 North. Like I said, I’m not quite sure where we were and maybe it was the edge of Delaware and not even Pennsylvania. But who in the right mind wants a townhouse where the windows look right out on 202?

And then there is that old historic house along 202 North in Westtown. There is a dilapidated garage falling down slightly behind it but the house which I saw on a historic inventory for Westtown, just rots on the side of 202.

That house is or was fabulous. I got a photo of it stuck in traffic in 2012. It’s amazing how much it has deteriorated.

2012

Another rotting house is emblematic of life today, isn’t it? The politics of extremism has torn this country apart and this area, just like I said it would. And I am hardly a psychic. Duh people, we are all being manipulated. By national political parties. They have even turned our local politics into political minefields.

People need to actually put politics aside and get back to the business of living. They need to be active in their communities and pay attention.

But back to social media. It has brought so many of us together, yet what it brings out of the woodwork? Yikes some days.

And this post is not full of secret messages. It is just a ramble. If you don’t like what I write about, make a New Year’s resolution to just move along. Find your own comfort level instead of presuming others should create it for you.

scott mason charged by feds, so did he exceed what daddy did all those years ago or copy cat?

Uh huh. Boom, here it is:

Gladwyne Investment Adviser Charged With Misappropriating More Than $17 Million From Clients Through Two Long-Running Fraud Schemes

Friday, January 17, 2025

PHILADELPHIA – United States Attorney Jacqueline C. Romero announced that Scott Mason, 66, of Gladwyne, Pennsylvania, was charged by criminal information with wire fraud, securities fraud, investment adviser fraud, and filing false tax returns, arising from two fraudulent schemes that Mason, through his investment advisory firm Rubicon Wealth Management LLC, orchestrated to divert millions of dollars in client funds in order to finance his lavish lifestyle.

The information alleges that between 2016 and 2024, Mason — who had a fiduciary duty to make investment decisions in his clients’ best interests — transferred more than $17 million from 13 Rubicon clients to an entity that he owned and controlled, and ultimately used that money to finance his personal expenditures, including international travel, country club membership dues, credit card bill payments, and the purchase of an ownership stake in a Jersey Shore-based miniature golf course.

The information further alleges that Mason targeted clients with whom he had a longstanding relationship and who trusted him implicitly, including longtime friends and family members, and he often liquidated those clients’ securities holdings in order to finance the fraudulent transfers. Mason allegedly either forged client signatures on distribution authorization forms or omitted all pertinent details of the so-called “investments” when seeking client authorization for the transfers and instead falsely represented that he was investing client funds in diversified short-term bonds.

In reality, as the information alleges, Mason was converting client funds to his own personal use. He also used a portion of the fraud proceeds to repay another Rubicon client from whom Mason had allegedly misappropriated an additional several million dollars dating back to at least 2014, in order to avoid detection by that victim.

Finally, the information alleges that Mason failed to report any of his fraud proceeds on his personal income tax returns, generating a tax loss of approximately $3.225 million.

If convicted, the defendant faces a maximum possible sentence of 80 years’ imprisonment and a fine of $6,760,000.

The case was investigated by the FBI and IRS Criminal Investigation and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Jessica Rice. In a parallel matter, the Securities and Exchange Commission announced charges against Mason today.

An indictment, information, or criminal complaint is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.

SEC Charges Pennsylvania Investment Adviser Scott Mason With Misappropriating More Than $20 Million from Advisory Clients

For Immediate Release

2025-20

Washington D.C., Jan. 17, 2025 —

The Securities and Exchange Commission today charged former Pennsylvania-based investment adviser Scott J. Mason, and his companies Rubicon Wealth Management LLC and Orchard Park Real Estate Holdings LLC, with misappropriating more than $20 million from at least 13 Rubicon advisory clients.

According to the SEC’s complaint, from at least 2014 to 2024, Mason made unauthorized transfers of money from Rubicon clients’ accounts to his own accounts and those of his entities, Rubicon and Orchard Park. As the complaint alleges, Mason used the money for his own purposes, including to pay country club dues, transfer it to other clients, and purchase a portion of a miniature golf course in New Jersey. The complaint further alleges that Mason forged clients’ signatures, made numerous misrepresentations about what he was doing with clients’ money, and concealed his fraud for years by providing fake account statements and tax documents.

“As alleged, Mason’s clients trusted him to invest their money as he said he would but, instead, he repeatedly abused that trust to enrich himself at their expense. He then lied to them and manipulated documents to cover his tracks,” said Nicholas P. Grippo, Regional Director of the SEC’s Philadelphia Regional Office. “This action once again shows the SEC’s commitment to holding advisers accountable when they violate the federal securities laws.”

The SEC’s complaint, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, charges Mason, Rubicon, and Orchard Park with violating the antifraud provisions of the federal securities laws.  Mason, Rubicon, and Orchard Park have consented to the entry of final judgments that permanently enjoin them from committing future violations of those provisions and provides that the court will decide the amounts of disgorgement, prejudgment interest, and civil penalties at a later date. The settlement is subject to court approval.

In a parallel action, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania today announced criminal charges against Mason.

The SEC’s investigation was conducted by Laura E.L. Gavin, Brian P. Thomas, and Norman P. Ostrove in the SEC’s Philadelphia Regional Office. It was supervised by Scott A. Thompson and Nicholas P. Grippo in the Philadelphia Regional Office. The litigation will be led by Spencer Willig and supervised by Gregory R. Bockin. The SEC appreciates the assistance of the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the FBI.

Of course it remains to be seen what happens. One thing I find curious is why did the SEC allow him to be his own compliance officer at RubiCON Wealth Management?

So in the brave new world we are entering with a new administration coming to Washington DC next week, how will this all play out? Historically can it be said the SEC is more stringent in republican administrations? Only time will tell. What happens to the wifey? And he was an off campus student housing slumlord up where Hobart William Smith is in Geneva, NY? Is that oddly apropos, considering?

So what happens to the house in Gladwyne? It doesn’t show as for sale on Realtor.com or am I looking in the wrong place?

This guy. Blows my mind. One would think he learned from what his own father did, right? What did daddy do? Well it was in the papers… even the New York Times https://www.nytimes.com/1975/02/21/archives/52million-total-cited-sec-alleges-bache-aided-in-a-scheme-to-bilk.html

Grab the popcorn…yet very sad. This guy’s greed has brought shame on his family, right? Who else will come forward with a tale to tell here? I feel truly sorry for his children. Again, didn’t he learn from what his father did when he was growing up? And his father is still alive, isn’t he? Where does he live?

This truly is a cautionary tale. And in the end, greed does not pay.
