does miss congeniality live in west whiteland? (ummm…noooo)

Move over Marie Antoinette, Saint Theresa of West Whiteland is on the Zoom! Apparently people are being chastised for NOT going to the grocery store and using services like Instacart and Amazon? Nice. I found her interaction with this resident completely condescending, and did she go to the political graveyard of West Whiteland to dig up dead bodies to say they like the crappy and overpriced big W trash bags too?

Seriously, there were former officials speaking whose idea it probably was in the FIRST PLACE to do this whole trash bag thing! So of course they were good ol’ cheerleaders! (Full meeting video available HERE.)

Now I honestly couldn’t decide if Saint Theresa of West Whiteland should be Marie Antoinette for Halloween, or just a witch. So she has two costume options. Readers can decide on the best costume.

I will share video snippets of this public meeting and a word of warning to Supervisor Rajesh Kumbhardare. To Supervisor Raj, I caution you on your tone with residents at meetings. You are starting to sound dictatorial and combative. That is really unattractive and you can do and be better. Generally speaking, I think you are a good guy, hence the warning.

But Saint Theresa? Oy woman, just #resign already. You are an embarrassment to women, female politicians, and your own political party. Quit acting like Bossette Tweed of New Tammany Hall. How you grocery shop isn’t necessarily the golden rule of shopping is it? Who are you to judge every resident who essentially doesn’t agree with you? Ed the nice and friendly resident who spoke wasn’t the enemy. He expressed his opinion politely and in a non-threatening manner. You were rude. But then again you are always rude. You talk OVER everyone and CONSTANTLY interrupt. It’s like you are so damn afraid you won’t be paid attention to, and why is this always “The Theresa Show”? If the world revolves around YOU, lady then stop the spin so we can all jump off.

Why do you care where the guy gets his groceries? Why do you care where the man gets his toilet paper or paper towels? What does THAT have to do with West Whiteland’s over priced but cheap trash bags? And no, we all actually don’t have to go to the grocery store any longer. And however you parented and whatever you thought when you had school age kids way back when is not necessarily everyone else’s opinion and experience. We don’t care. You aren’t a shining example of anything other than an extraordinarily unpleasant politician. That, madam, will be your enduring legacy.

You want to complain constantly on social media about how hard you work, like you are the only one who has ever worked hard, right? Ok, we get it. One of my grandmothers would have called that poor mouthing.

No one is ever as good as you are in your estimation. But then again you were the one who wanted a finance person to just cut a big check at the beginning of the year, bypassing proper procedure, so is your personal estimation even one we should take into account? I guess that might be a conversation for another day. But hey what do I know, I am just a troll, right? (Your words, I also saved the screen shots before you deleted them but you haven’t deleted that post dated September 15th where you trash talk a resident you are threatened by, right?)

Back to the trash: I do not believe all of the people who say they only put out one little trash bag a week. I DO believe that people dump their trash elsewhere, I have seen it with my own eyes in East Whiteland where the walking trail goes behind some office complexes. I literally watched someone drive into the place from the road, stop their car, pop the trunk, dump trash into office complex dumpster and drive off. I have seen it in other places too. When I lived in Lower Merion there was once an apartment landlord that would pick up his trash in Lower Merion and take it to apartments they owned in Narberth.

I understand why people in developments don’t want trash cans. They don’t want trash cans because their neighbors now just leave the recycling bins out everywhere for days without bringing them back to their garages. But that is an issue with the association that runs their development, isn’t it? If the HOAs were proactive and said they were going to fine residents for leaving trash bins out all of the time and blocking sidewalks, don’t you think development residents would be more proactive?

And the quality of the trash bags is poor. Even residents who like the trash bags say that. And they also comment on how the price can jump around if the retail outlets are paying molly markup. Why can’t trash bags be delivered to residents like quarterly? Or have them available at the township building?

And as for the trash haulers making coin on the side? Cash is king, and if people are tipping them to just just make the trash go away, as long as there are bags, I think this will continue to happen. It’s human nature, sadly.

It’s a shame, really. This is really about politicians who want to govern by surveys. Not everyone will take a survey, some actually want people to TALK to them. But some won’t do surveys in addition because they fear retaliation. Some just don’t have time. I think the survey was set up to fail because two supervisors wanted this to fail. But that is on them and their future elections, isn’t it?

The other thing that is a shame is while certain things in West Whiteland seems to be improving, certain elected officials are not. Saint Theresa of West Whiteland is unpleasant essentially EVERY meeting. Sometimes she has public meeting wig outs, other times it’s on social media. And when she puts on the extra special Bossette Tweed outfit on election day, well look out?

Why does she have to be that way? The simple answer is she doesn’t. The more complicated answer is appears she is not capable of any other way to be and is just so utterly unhappy and angry a person, that it spills out in all directions. And I can wonder aloud about politicians, Theresa.

Anyway, just another trick and no treats meeting this week in West Whiteland. And that is not because trash bags won. It’s because SOME had issues with the public speaking out and not agreeing.

when politicians attack, or more “oh theresa, really?”

Yesterday Saint Theresa of West Whiteland didn’t like something I said. I mean imagine that? A politician not liking something a blogger says?

Truthfully, she probably doesn’t like most of what I say. I am fine with that. I made a comment about her not appearing at a local community event when the other two supervisors of West Whiteland and other public officials did. Now was that poking a very unpleasant bear? Yeah probably, BUT why did I point this out? Simple: when the other two supervisors appear at public events and she is not there she has huge problems with that doesn’t she? So it was just a pre-emptive strike, truthfully.

At 10:07 PM last night, on a Saturday, I was finally the recipient of what is know as “Theresa gold.” She messaged my personal Facebook page looking for a fight. We do not know each other, I do not choose to engage with angry out of control politicians AND MOST IMPORTANTLY? It was 10:07 PM and isn’t that just rude? Where are her boundaries? Ooops sorry to ask semi-rhetorical questions.

I will note that Supervisor Saint Teresa messaged me at 10:07 PM to say it was none of my business, that she was absent from the community event because her daughter is apparently ill and she wasn’t resigning. She’s right, it’s not my business, but she’s made it everyone’s business, as I was told that she posted it on her page as well. (see screenshot)

I hope her daughter recovers, but it doesn’t change my opinion that this is a rather unpleasant local politician who should not be in office. She also shouldn’t message people late in the evening. It’s also questionable that she makes her family business public like a political tool, which truthfully, isn’t that so sad? She could have simply (1) messaged her fellow supervisors and said she had a family emergency and wouldn’t be at local events on Saturday or (2) put out a statement later congratulating residents and others for wonderful community events that bring communities together for the greater good and she was so sorry she was unable to be there. Truthfully, if she was smart like that she would have silenced any criticism instantly. But she has no style, does she?

Flash forward 7 hours or at 1 AM, Supervisor Saint Theresa of West Whiteland continued her conversation with her sycophants (or maybe just herself?) about me. So here she is, a public official with her pathetic attempt at doxxing someone who is well…not a public official.

Theresa doesn’t seem to grasp in her latest somewhat gaseous explosion of hate and vitriol, that there was NOT going to be some back and forth because I was not having some back and forth with her at after 10 PM or at any point. She has a habit of messaging people late at night whom she doesn’t know.

This is a person who is incapable of having a dialogue with anyone, and she proves it during most public meetings.

This is a person who is a politician who uses her office as a bully pulpit. If I was a resident in her township she would probably try to send someone from the township to try to intimidate or harass me, wouldn’t she?

This is a politician who has issues with pretty much everyone, including political higher ups within her own party whom she should actually attempt to cultivate, and isn’t that just common sense? She is a politician whom other politicians look away from, isn’t she?

This is the local politician who tried to just literally order West Whiteland’s now former finance person who was also a former supervisor to cut a big old check to the former manager whose contract wasn’t renewed without going through proper channels, remember? For that alone as one example of ethically and morally wonky she should have been removed from office, shouldn’t she have?

This is a person whose Facebook page I don’t actually follow and people collect screenshots on, just like they did overnight. “Hey she’s talking about you” was the message. “Of course she is.” was my reply. What I will add here is I now join the ranks of every one of her constituents and others I know she has harangued from her Facebook page or in some social media forum if they don’t tow her line. This is a person who can’t ever seem to keep it together for even public meetings, so is it any wonder MANY people want her to resign? And was this not the woman who this past January started the year in West Whiteland by accusing a new supervisor who has familial ties and the incoming solicitor of nefarious things at a public meeting?

And let us never forget the politician who called the police on sidewalk chalk?

Theresa you are a politician who is a troll and you called me one, so “meh” on that insult. I also don’t have to justify my existence to you in this world, never have. Neither do any of the constituents or others who challenge who and what you are as a politician, although should it be said you are worthy of an ethics inquiry?

Can I get you to resign? I don’t believe I have that power, although I do believe you should resign, and freedom of speech allows me to articulate that comment. As often as I choose.

The comment Saint Theresa makes about my replacing her with a friend is curious, don’t you think? Do I have a friend running against her? Her term ends in 2024, correct? Is a friend in this case literally anyone who runs against her? Asking for a friend.

And finally, because she is obviously a social media Luddite even though she misuses it so regularly, I blocked her on messenger when she messaged me after 10 PM on a Saturday night, so I cut nothing off, I couldn’t see it and when she went to hit send she would have been told that she could no longer reply to the conversation. She was never interested in a conversation, I was merely a target to scream at in that moment.

Saint Theresa of West Whiteland always is the champion of pretzel logic or bad spin. As well as her own worst enemy every time she opens her mouth.

She calls me a troll with a capital T like it is a nationality. That’s actually pretty funny. Maybe I am my own race and nationality now??? Cool!!!!!

She is the one using her adult child as a political prop and public sympathy attempt. I am not. She made whatever her adult daughter is experiencing public, as in a public post. That’s her choice, but not my fault. I have not said anything disparaging about her daughter, nor would I. I hope she gets well soon.

I don’t hide Theresa, I am right here saying out loud that you are a deeply troubled woman unfit for public office. You make your entire township and Chester County Democrats look bad every single time you open your mouth.

Save your pity for yourself Saint Theresa, except that is part of the problem and always has been, hasn’t it? How you see yourself? You do any woman who would ever wish to run for public office a disservice. Truthfully you kind of act like Marjorie Taylor Greene a lot of the time and that is saying something, isn’t it?

If making me your latest target of public posts happy Saint Theresa, that’s on you entirely. But all you are doing is digging yourself a bigger political grave and proving every single critic right. And oh my goodness, the Chester County Democrats should be embarrassed to have you as one of their own.

(And by the way, Saint Theresa by now has deleted or hid her latest crazed screenshots about me from overnight including the public one mentioning her poor daughter. Sadly she doesn’t get that DOESN’T make them go away. It’s like she gets social media Tourette’s syndrome. Seriously, that is a thing.)

And as someone who is probably better versed in the history of Pennsylvania than she who skews life, a reminder that pilgrims weren’t the only ones to come to Pennsylvania or to the new world. And all who came before us would be appalled by the behavior of this local politician. They didn’t fight for her to muck things up, did they? Or did they give us the freedom of our mistakes? If so, why does she never have ownership of her mistakes? She flips out, and thinks deleting everything is all she has to do.

And last night? If she had just let it go and accepted I had no desire to correspond with her after 10 PM at night, let alone sit there and be her whipping girl on messenger, we wouldn’t be here. I would have just laughed about it privately and moved on. But she took it to that next level, made it public, had to be extra nasty. She is an elected official. This isn’t some random flame war on social media.

Bless her heart, Theresa Hogan Santalucia still doesn’t get it.

Oh and Theresa? The grammar police are coming for you 🤣

more historic properties that aren’t so historically cared for in west whiteland? take a peek at 105 s. whitford road, for example.

105 S. Whitford this morning June 17, 2022

Driving by you wouldn’t know that this place in photo above on South Whitford Road actually had a historic house back there. All you would see were really, really high weeds. And this photo doesn’t even do how high the weeds are in places justice.

The address is 105 S. Whitford Rd.

Here is a 2019 Internet photo:

Apparently this house is something that the historic commission of West Whiteland Township is aware of. It appears to be on their inventory. Interestingly enough the supervisor who is the liaison to the historic commission is none other than Saint Theresa Hogan Santalucia. So is she aware of the condition of this property?

Apparently it changed hands recently or within the past few months?

It’s like the grass hasn’t been cut and I’m not exaggerating, it hasn’t been cut since who knows when if at all this year. So if this is a historic house, what is going on? I mean there’s already some wicked demolition by neglect going on at the Joseph Price House, on the same stretch of road, right?

So another question would be West Whiteland has a codes department right? I don’t know the Director of Codes (Codes Barbie) who is also the Fire Marshall but I always see her on the West Whiteland zoom meetings with lots of make up and flipping her hair …. so is she aware of this? What’s her name? I have to ask in her dual role why she does she look at or inspect these properties? Or does she? Or is she just a selective stones buster? I mean you would think that properties like this or the Joseph Price House would be an issue given shall we say certain conditions? So does demolition by neglect count for anything according to these people?

I mean we’ve got Bossette Tweed posting her merit certificates publicly on social media but ummm what else???

Wouldn’t you say that the way certain properties are treated with historic value qualify as a “difficult situation” in West Whiteland Township? Again, this address in on the West Whiteland historic resources map?

And then there are the two business entities I found on the deed file:

And then you go to the property records:

And then you pull the things uploaded as deeds:

So obviously someone owns the property actively, so what is happening there? It’s 9 acres give or take, right? Will house be preserved? Will a business go there? Will it be subject to development? I ask about development because of an old listing for the property from a couple of years ago. Showing screen shots below this, and another embedded document.

So what’s the plan? Demolition by neglect until someone submits a plan? I was told the house had tenants until not THAT long ago?

What started me being curious? A note and photos I received. I already have inserted a couple of the photos, but here’s part of the note from one of my readers:

What is West Whiteland now doing with historical properties? The house at 105 S. Whitford road was just recently sold. It’s been months the grass is very high. This house was not too long ago inhabited. It is now owned by 105 Whitford Rd llc. If you Google can’t really find much. The only mention of it was when the daycare was being built and if there was any impact….It’s a historic house and WW recognizes it as that….They sold it and it hasn’t been taken care of since January…the grass looks like it would be way above my knees, maybe close to my waist in spots!!

~ West Whiteland resident who drives by location often

So I realized I literally drive past there at least once a week en route to PT. I can tell you it’s overgrown enough that I forgot there was a house there. Personally I keep noticing trash along the curb of what may or may not be part of the property. There was also a car repair place at the corner with a sale sign.

In any event, West Whiteland is NOT the only township that turns a blind eye to neglected properties and/or empty or seemingly empty but falling apart historic properties. It just is always a puzzle when these townships act like they can’t SEE some of these properties.

West Whiteland is a mess, and it will be for a while given what they have been through. But people hired by the last manager maybe should be trying a little harder now? And politicians who love to talk about how they love the historic properties in their township who can’t seemingly see things like this? Or when they are pointed out, “didn’t know”? I mean COME ON, you are an elected official in this township and you live there!

This parcel is seemingly the old tenant farm for “Oaklands”. It is referenced in the Revised History of West Whiteland I found uploaded on the West Whiteland Township website that I downloaded to read.

If you live in West Whiteland, please get familiar with your history. It’s not all commercial and a sea of new apartment and townhouse developments. And this post is most definitely NOT a criticism of the West Whiteland Historic Commission because they do a very good job. Their supervisor liaison, not so much a good job doer, and this post is also an additional criticism of her. In my humble opinion, she one of the wonkiest local politicians out here and an embarrassment to her township as well as Chester County Democrats. Why doesn’t she just resign already?

This post is also quite simply a “what is going on here and what will happen to the property and structures on it and why?” That is very important. I am a realist, and not all historic properties can be saved. But when you see demolition by neglect that has been ongoing (Joseph Price house corner of S. Whitford and Clover Mill Road) and newly emerging issues with 105 S. Whitford Rd and identified as the tenant farm to Oaklands, there should be a community conversation sometimes, shouldn’t there be?

Well who knows, but this is what intrigued me today in the ever evolving As The West Whiteland Turns.

Have a great Father’s Day Weekend everyone!

105 S. Whitford circa 2019.
