That moment when you see a friend post something totally scary.
This is a big warning to everybody who drives a car please look before you go through a green yes green light! at about 2:00 today I watched a very large heavy recycling/trash truck fly through a red light doing about 45 MPH at the intersection of Valley Hill Road and 401 the truck was heading towards RT 202 I was on Valley hill heading towards Bodine road a very small car in front of me was making a rt on a green light and it had not just changed it had been green as I was heading towards the light the car was inches from getting T boned and rear ended this person I hope knows how lucky they were, I my self slammed on my brakes sent all my groceries flying all over the back seat of my truck. For me I was also lucky 2 seconds sooner it could have been me. This light has a warning light telling drivers that the light is red way before they get to the light, there is absolutely no excuse to blow a red light there and at a fast speed in such a large truck. Please tell your kids to always look both ways before going through a green light never never trust another driver will be stopping. Now to try and get my heart rate back to normal. Be safe !!
This company sucks. Even with new owners they suck.
They fly in and out of my street and some weeks I wonder if they are going to end up in our front yards if not worse. I don’t use them. We use Opdenaker and they are terrific and not sloppy dangerous crazy.
My friend went and literally knocked on doors to get security camera footage and she got video. I will share it.
She said to me:
I have a video but it does not look as fast as he was going and you can’t see it was a red light. In the video it took me 6 seconds to cross because I totally stopped and looked at the light to make sure I was not going through a red light. Then I crossed super careful but I was rt behind the car that almost was hit.
She continued:
I am the white truck.
At the point the video catches him he was slamming on his brakes.
Also when I got home I found our recycling can emptied and a bunch of recycling all over the road and also our neighbors recycling the same like 7-9 pieces of trash.
I wonder if it was the same truck.
Well probably at least the same company because that is their usual M.O.
I told my friend to also call the PA State Police because 401 and Valley Hill where this happened is Charlestown Township and well they don’t have local police, they have Staties.
Let the not so subtley veiled attempts at indoctrination begin – the failed political types want to “train” your kids and isn’t that special? If you have a problem with this contact:
I think in the unpleasant political environment of this country at present, I find it foolhardy for this to be a school sanctioned activity. I would love to know why a health and physical ed teacher is doing this? Will this be monitored?
Using the word “train” has very unpleasant implications. It’s very 1930s Germany of Great Valley School District isn’t it?
Dustin Kasper is the advisor. Why are they meeting in a weight room? I mean, I get that he’s a health and physical teacher. What are they going do sets in between the indoctrination sessions? Kasper went to West Chester University with graduate work at Immaculata. He also apparently served in the military unsure of what branch. He’s also listed as a Realtor at Keller Williams.
So is somebody else leading this group? Or is it an essence led by the faculty advisor?? Sorry I don’t know I’m asking because when I was in high school I did sports and I was on the student newspaper. I never had a desire to be an Alex P. Keaton. I also belong to a service club and we used to do things like beautification projects around the community.
I think if this was just a high school Republican club or a high school Democrat club I wouldn’t care. It’s that other component and I don’t know Turning Point is not my jam and it has a religious component and if this is supposed to model that this is a public school and how does that work?
I have no problem with the restoration of a veterans memorial but where is this veterans memorial? But a weightlifting competition for a pseudo religious political organization? Isn’t that a little odd?
I just think it sounds a little vague. And it’s powered by a group that I don’t really believe promotes good as much as it promotes assimilation, but those aren’t mutually exclusive.
Whatever. The parents who are of a certain political bent will be delighted. I wonder if they will all have cute little uniforms?
I received some very interesting text messages this afternoon. And for those who will try to figure out who it is, it’s a reliable source and it’s not in my usual cadre of contacts.
I forgot all about the Chester County Democrats endorsement convention or whatever the heck they call it. Under the current leadership it has turned into an engineered circus. In my not so humble opinion, utterly defeating the purpose of PRIMARIES.
Anyway it seems the kids are starting to revolt on Grandma Charlotte and some of the others given the messages also passed to me.
This. Is. VERY. INTERESTING no?
Then the next question is, after will Charlotte Valyo resign before the end of her tenure and is she going to try to run unendorsed after drubbing it into people’s heads for the last 4 years that you can’t run unendorsed when of course that is the point of a primary, yes? If she tries to run unendorsed, she needs a T-shirt that says HYPOCRITE.
Now Brian McGuinness is on West Chester Borough Council. He was also at one point in time head of the Chester County Democrats – he had replaced Michelle Vaughn who is currently Register of Wills. But he had some political scandal time circa 2014, didn’t he?
Hans is I presume referring to Hans van Mol, a fairly newly minted Tredyffrin Supervisor with seemingly endless political aspirations. He even had a little campaign for state committee video. I loved his carefully chosen photos in said video , although I don’t know if having Cherelle Parker in the mix was good but it was at least A+ for obvious right?
At one time Hans ran for State Rep, and Warren Kampf defeated him which I still find amusing for many reasons.
And newly minted Downingtown Borough Mayor, Erica Deuso, was not endorsed as well. As of 38 minutes ago however, Ms. Runs for Everything is still trying to get on the ballot for state committee… although she absurdly says something to the effect of just because you get me on the ballot, doesn’t mean you have to vote for me. (Mmkay and I am the tooth fairy.)
I’ll be honest I’m still not an Erica fan and it’s solely because she’s always running for something. It’s not about service, it’s about her. So I guess we call that political narcissism, huh?
Deuso ran unsuccessfully for Downingtown Borough Council. Then with I still believe was Charlotte Valyo’s blessing she tried to primary Danielle Otten and well?
Those who were actually endorsed in the end, I am not certain of at this point in time. I guess I am just sort of stunned that the status quo didn’t just get a hall pass. And I think that is what’s important here.
Democrats in Chester County are sending other Democrats in Chester County a message, as well as the rest of the state. So I think this is interesting and is well worth watching. I am taking this as a positive.
Of course, the next thing I’m wondering is will Charlotte finish out her term? I think it ends at some point this year, right? Or does she have other ambitions? What are the ambitions of the others not endorsed this week?
Tick tock. Politics is a dance meets a multi act play, is it not?
Oh, look there she is! It’s Lisa Borowski there for a photo op! and you can always tell when it’s election season because she gets a fresh haircut and her bangs are out of her face and she looks less like a Muppet.
Former do much of nothing Radnor Township Commissioner now State Representative Lisa Borowski likes long walks, nature, photo ops. But what does she actually do? Most people are still trying to figure that out.
She is still very much on PA HB2151 which will remove the rights of Pennsylvanians and their municipalities when it comes to AI data centers.
She was also on that last bill (HB 502) that failed miserably in 2025. So what was she promised if she was on this HB2151 and was Josh Shapiro‘s little cheerleader Muppet?
So she’s out doing her nominating petition, and is announcing events where they’re going to be signing these petitions throughout Delaware County in her district. Here are the locations and dates:
Your mission should you choose to accept it is to show up at these events as well as call her office and tell her to get off of the data center bill. The number is PA HB2151.
If that bill goes through, it will affect our power grid which affects our PECO bills. It affects our water usage. Data Centers are not environmentally friendly. data centers are also extraordinarily noisy in a very pervasive negative way.
Lisa Borowski needs a field trip to Louden County, Virginia and needs to get her head out of her ass about this issue.
If Lisa Borowski wants to be reelected, she needs to do the right thing here. If not, she deserves to not be reelected.
BE POLITE when you contact her and I know for some that’s a challenge because she seriously has annoying affectations and mannerisms.
Make it an easy thing for Lisa to understand: if she wants to stay in office, she needs to get off of bad bills like this that only helps special interests, not everyday Pennsylvanians.
PS her municipality seems eminent domain happy so you might want to ask the state representative where she stands on eminent domain as well.
You know, sometimes when I don’t write something right away, although is something on my mind. Such as the case with my writing this post a few days after receiving a thoroughly ugly comment.
This was in response to another post I had written. Specifically about the two West Whiteland 7th precinct Republican committeemen and their shall we say performance last week. It was those two gentlemen and one who did not identify himself other than being from Ship Road who referred to little brown men.
I am still at a loss for words for this performance at a public meeting. And I’m not saying people don’t have their right to address their government. They do and our Constitution allows it. Our forefathers fought blood and died for it, but it’s what they said. It’s how can so much hate be fomented into three minutes or less? How can they spew hatred like this?
So I discovered these two Republican committeemen seem to have education in their backgrounds as in being teachers. I’m not sure if one is still a teacher or not but the other one most assuredly is and parents are very, very concerned.
I will note we haven’t heard anything out of the Republican Party of West Whiteland about this incident have we?
Anyway, on Saturday, I received a very vile comment as mentioned:
In case you can’t read the screenshot of what the lovely Olivia said here it is:
The immigration is harming my quality of life. Legal immigration.
Why should I have to experience degraded quality of life for your vision of how the world should be?
Your position HARMS me and HARMS my family. If I object, you then label me with pejorative labels and personal attack, emotional blackmail, character assassination- I am ignorant, racist, a xenophobe.
Do you have any idea what it is like having people harm you, and act morally-superior, and attack you if you complain that you are being harmed? “Sit down, shut up, you are just racist, you will be harmed and you will LIKE it or say NOTHING. We are superior to you, we know best.”
I have no idea if this is a real or made up name. It doesn’t really matter it just kind of blows my mind. Like many of these comments, it was left late at night. I didn’t see it until Valentine’s Day morning. Immigration is personally harming her life? HOW? What kind of a nut bag is she? Never mind don’t answer it. I know what kind of a nut bag they are. My opinion harms nothing, their opinion destroys lives.
And then there are the people who leave these insane comments about how former administrations treated immigration enforcement in this way. They did?
Also also interesting to know I think immigrants should be legal. But what is different today than what has previously existed is the way things are enforced, correct? In my opinion it’s literally like watching 1930s Germany come to life on social media. And then we see these people that are just kind of being profiled and then surrounded and pounced on in the midst of our communities, leaving the rest of us at risk and terrified, and then what happens to them? Is there actual due process? Where are the warrants for these people?
What we see is terrifying chaos. It’s not orderly. Honestly, this is no law-enforcement we’ve ever known. And we’re a country founded by immigrants.
What have we become?
And the thing is this some of these people that are being targeted? They are people who are immigrants have been following the guidelines and working a green card program, etc.
Ask anyone that lived from World War II or had relatives who lived through World War II and they will tell you this is indeed like 1930s Germany with social media.
So it was like a gift when I discovered something this morning about a small town in Pennsylvania.
So well, some people like to say I am this elitist, horrible human being ruining their life like that woman who left a comment this weekend, I am just one of millions of literally immigrant stories of this country. And that’s how we all started no matter how many years ago some of our families came here more than two centuries ago.
The town’s name is Roseto. It is the very embodiment of the immigrant American dream. it was even featured on PBS’s The American Experience.
I never knew this town existed. And part of my DNA is very much Italian American. It’s really cool people from a similarly named area of Italy. So they immigrated here to escape poverty and re-created their village in Pennsylvania.
With the founding of this borough, they became the first 100% Italian American borough in the United States. It was incorporated in 1912 and those who immigrated here did so to work in slate quarries. Apparently there were also mills and I guess sewing factories. The first immigrants arrived around 1882 according to what I’ve read. They were from Roseto Valfortore in the Apulia region of Italy.
It was described as this area became a self-sufficient And close knit enclave. The area was also studied in the 1960s because of its low rate of heart disease known as “the Roseto effect.”
Roseto incidentally means “rose garden.”
The most recent article I could find was from 2016 and it was about a resident who had passed away at 100.
So imagine if immigrants like that had not come to this country? And Italians were totally discriminated against. My grandfather and his brothers had a factory in Philadelphia. They had to change the name during World War II because they didn’t want anti-Italian American sentiment to kill their business.
As a kid and I wasn’t particularly ethnic looking, I was occasionally called any number of derogatory names like Dago or Wop when we first moved to the Main Line. That was one of my early introductions to the Lower Merion School District. It was funny they never said much about my Irish ancestry or German. Just the Italian.
But I do remember the stories my maternal grandfather who was Irish American told me. He told me about the little signs in the shop windows of Philadelphia that said “Irish need not apply.” and his mother, an American citizen, was in service to the Cassatt family in Haverford. She was the summer housekeeper at the location we now know as Merion Cricket Club.
I think it’s almost bizarre at times how this country is founded on immigrants can be so horrible to subsequent generations of immigrants.
I read this amazing, albeit brief, essay this weekend.
We live in an extremely complex world that attempts to make sense of itself by generalizing issues, experiences, and people. It happens everywhere. We hear these generalizations from our world leaders to the people in our communities. What happens, instead, is we inhibit our ability to properly understand each other. …..This is why we need to tell each and every story. When you elevate the individual narratives of immigrants, you’re not only made aware of the rich complexities and differences, but the ways in which we all share common ground.
It’s not a very long essay, but I felt it was a powerful one. I only left an excerpt here. I suggest you read the whole thing.
These people that want to say immigrants are the reason for misfortune. I have to ask them are they really? I mean we’re all responsible for our own lives aren’t we?
And how can people, even some I am related to who are literally descended from immigrants be so horrible about immigrants? I just don’t understand it.
I am not advocating for immigrants who are here illegally per se. But often their story is very different than we imagine or very different than just being not here legally.
We all are descended from immigrants. So why are we so ugly about them?
America is literally a melting pot.
But I suppose someone will think it’s a bad position that I’m asking these questions or thinking these thoughts. But hey, it’s also afforded to me under the United States Constitution is it not? These people think that theirs should be the only voice. To them I pose a simple question. How would you feel if you no longer had the ability to have that voice?
If we don’t change the trajectory of this country, that could be something we face for real.
I still say it’s pretty goddamn sad that people that included at least one teacher spouted this hatred at a public meeting, don’t you agree?
I don’t know how to begin other than diving right in. Two West Whiteland Republican Committee members named Mike Winterode and Chris Ousey spoke at public comment along with a 3rd guy who did not identify himself other than he lived on Ship Road. It was like the whackadoodle twilight zone.
Seriously. Start around the 45 minute mark on what I am sharing.
Now did the two gentlemen who identified themselves also have to also identify themselves at the meeting as West Whiteland Republican Committee People? Don’t honestly know the answer to that, but since they are the West Whiteland Precinct 7 guys were they also there representing the West Whiteland Republican Committee? I can actually ask that. Does Chair Beverly Pancott know about this? Does she have a comment?
Look I know people have different opinions about those frozen feds visiting our communities like storm troopers. BUT please listen to what they said. Some standout things include:
“Performative politics.”
“Illegal aliens unvetted.”
“Your resolution will attract more illegal aliens.”
“Little brown men with carpenter belts.”
“Chinese nationals…and fentanyl deaths.”
Mr. Winterode is a regular with things that make him uncomfortable. He shows up in articles about transgender stuff in WCASD in 2022 for example:
Parent Michael Winterode of West Whiteland Township offered to bring two women who went through the transgender transition, and regretted it, to speak at a school assembly.
He was also part of the ban book craziness. I think he was a teacher? Is he still? Now Mr. Ousey? He is currently a teacher in the WCASD is he not?
I just can’t with their comments. It’s ok to have an opposing point of view. The way those three men behaved was not ok. It’s that simple.
And the West Whiteland Republican Committee should look into quality not phoning it in candidates if they are so upset, but they don’t. They should be embarrassed, but they won’t be.
This hubbub was over the West Whiteland resolution over frozen feds. They stated plainly they cooperate with criminal warrants if asked, not civil. They also stated that the frozen feds don’t notify locals. They just show up, which of course is part of the problem. How they show up over civil enforcement is the problem and one would think grown ass men would get that. But no….they had to go all MAGA because if you aren’t exactly like them, you are bad. Bulltwaddle and grow up.
Essentially no matter what their issue was last night, their behavior was unacceptable. That is the bottom line.
In the 1930s, Germany transformed from a crisis-stricken democracy into a totalitarian Nazi dictatorship. That is not conjecture or exaggeration, those are historical facts. Facts.
As a nation of immigrants, it’s pretty hard not to know someone whose family went through World War II in Europe. And these aren’t merely the stories of the Jewish people who were hunted down and put in concentration camps, there are certainly enough similar stories of people who were not Jewish, and either were in an occupied country, a bombed country like the UK, and in some cases, their families had people who were actually resistance fighters in these various countries.
We have had those frosty masked folks who shall not be named in our own communities. I point you to the two examples most recently in Phoenixville and Malvern.
This isn’t drama, this isn’t conjecture. This is happening, just like we are Minnesota, or Detroit, or Chicago, or pick a city in area in California.
We are watching people being rounded up by armed individuals fully masked most of the time, and never seeming to have the kind of identification you expect from law-enforcement. It’s terrifying.
These unpleasant individuals who shall not be named, surely they can find jobs doing something else? And who are they? They’re not normal law-enforcement are they? They’re not even necessarily former military are they? They are people who want to be all of those people aren’t they? And how are they being trained? Is it to do a job or is it to foment more hate and terror upon the American people?
Because as we have seen, God forbid, you are a normal American person and you get caught up in the middle of one of these scenes. You know like a certain nurse and mom?
From coast to coast, we see these scenes unfold where these cars kind of swoop in and they surround people and other vehicles, I have seen things on Instagram where they’re ramming cars and then accusing people of hitting them and how is it? This craziness just persists?
And then you see them, breaking windows and breaking into homes and dragging people out and flinging them to the ground. You see knees, being jabbed, dangerously hard into people’s spines and you wonder did they really have to subdue them like that?
It doesn’t matter what your immigration status is in this country, every American is being terrorized. My husband has asked me what is wrong with me the past few days, and honestly? Part of it is all of this. We can’t do anything and elected officials in Washington are allowing this, and then we have to wonder who in Harrisburg is enabling this as well?
I will share a video from my Senator Senator Katie Muth’s page that I took this morning off of her social media because she speaks out for her constituents. She’s taking a stand on many things which is more than I can say for a lot of elected officials. This of course puts her at risk making her a target.
If you speak out about this, even as an ordinary person, you’re a target. Here we are at America’s 250th birthday and truly do we still have our inalienable rights? are these storm troopers going to come for us because we can’t believe we’re seeing what we’re seeing in our lifetimes? Here we thought World War II was bad enough, and I guess it had faded from memory enough that it’s like history repeating itself because no one wants to talk about that?
Like many others, I find myself pulling in and staying home. Because if you’re going out, are we gonna find ourselves in a parking lot where people are being thrown to the ground and having their windows, broken and tossed into vans and cars by masked individuals?
And let me be clear if this was lawfully being done with proper paperwork, and the people doing it were more clearly identifiable as who they worked for, would it hit us the same with that feeling of is this World War II or 1930s Germany with social media? If law-enforcement is picking up an actual criminal that is a different scenario.
But this isn’t normal and you have to wonder given what happened in Malvern a couple of weeks ago and then Phoenixville and Montgomery County Pa re they just targeting in part people that they think look different? That of course prompted questions from my friends who are other ethnicities and nationalities, but US citizens . Literally I’ve had them say to me are they going to take me off the street because of the color of my skin?
How do you respond to that and it’s not just people whose skin tone is different from ours. There’s the Irish man in Texas and he’s been there for a few months now in detention.
Then there was the incredible story of an Irish woman living in this country legally with a green card who was detained coming back to the US via Chicago from a funeral in Ireland. Literally a grandmother from Missouri she was finally released just before Christmas.
And then there are the ordinary people that face arrests because they’re standing there bearing witness to what those frosty jerks are doing to people.
I don’t care what the political persuasion is of elected officials in Washington DC, they have the power to stop this. They are choosing not to some of them talk a good game, but for what? Platitudes? Cute little sound bytes for their reelection campaigns?
I’m wondering what it’s like being an American at the Olympics this time? These young athletes have enough pressure on them without the added pressure that the US government has added essentially without their consent.
Now the most recent thing we have learned is how these frosty not so friends employed by the federal government are acquiring office space including in places like Berwyn PA.
Now, also probably having to do with us. I know at least one person who got a call from the GSA saying they were looking for people to work their new office and how insane is that considering they aren’t signed up for anything like this? So are they just looking at phone directories in the area and calling random people? Incidentally, the GSA stands for General Services Administration.
Now I couldn’t find any specific jobs that said Berwyn thus far, but I did find these that I wondered if they were related:
I’ll know how that says Department of Defense and I thought they were calling it Department of War or whatever?
Shakespeare’s Richard III character said famously all those centuries ago:
“Now is the winter of our discontent.”
Yes, I would feel safe to say we’re here. And my friend said would the photos that we see splashed across social media and our televisions have more of an impact if people saw them in black-and-white like 1930s Germany? So I don’t know I just took some screenshots here and converted them to black-and-white and how did they make people feel? Well, here are some of my screenshots convert it to black-and-white. How did they make you feel?
I will close with SAVVY Main Line publishing an article about the new neighbors coming to Berwyn supposedly.
Again, now is the winter of our discontent…. but what happens next?
Presumably, the Berwyn location was chosen for its easy access to major roadways including Route 202, Route 30, Route 252 and the PA Turnpike….Tredyffrin Board of Supervisors Chair David Miller had no comment while Tredyffrin Police Chief Mike Beaty referred SAVVY to the February 5 joint statement issued by the Chester County Police Chiefs Association and the Chester County DA.
Oh my just when you think the Radnor meeting was going to be by the book stupid like they have been it was a little popcorn worthy.
With great delight, I saw a familiar face take command of Commissioner Jack Larkin’s grand (and latest) eminent domain plan it seems.
Now Commissioner Larkin seems to be a little too enamored of eminent domain don’t you think? Remember, poor Wayne Presbyterian Church, and their parking lot?
I may be borrowing the lede a little bit so here we go…
Tonight the Radnor Board of Commissioner received a visit from one of my favorite former commissioners from Lower Merion, Phil Rosenzweig. You see how I know Phil as he is one of the seven commissioners we put into office as residents when we wanted to end the specter of the threat of eminent domain for private gain in the Historic Ardmore Business District many years ago. As a matter of fact, once he was sworn in he was the commissioner who wrote the language for the ordinance to eminent domain in Ardmore.
When Phil shows up at a meeting, municipalities are wise to listen. Because that man doesn’t come to play, he doesn’t grandstand, he comes to win for his clients. If Radnor wants to get tied up in litigation and lose at the expense of taxpayers, he’s their man.
I heard a very clear message to Radnor tonight: the land they think they are going to bully their way into from VFMA is not for sale.
The look on Larkin’s face as well as Moira Mulroney in my opinion was rather amusing when the cameras panned back.
Do not misunderstand me, I certainly don’t want to see more residential development back there and Valley Forge has been selling off land piecemeal over time. One thing that also came out tonight is how much a particular developer offered them for I presume the land that Radnor now wants. I believe the number was 20 million or thereabouts and just wow right? Especially just wow because Valley Forge said no.
Radnor needs to be a respectful date and learn that right now, no means no.
We first heard about this officially when Savvy Main Line wrote about it in early January.
Apparently they want the land, (they meaning Radnor Township for some kind of parks and rec thing.) Of course I find that amusing because they can’t take care of the parks they have now. And it’s always a battle at meetings when people come in and ask for basics.
… the township would much rather shake hands than grab, according to Commissioner Jack Larkin whose ward includes the VFMA campus. It prefers to negotiate an amicable purchase and bypass the long, tortuous path of eminent domain,
This wouldn’t be a hostile takeover as some eminent domain purchases are, he says. Cash-poor Valley Forge Military wants to sell. In fact, it’s had talks with a developer who hoped to build single-family homes at the site, Larkin says. VFMA knows the township wants the property but went “radio silent” some time ago.
Could the threat of eminent domain bring VFMA back to the bargaining table? There is a precedent. Radnor engaged in a similar gambit in late 2024 when it threatened to use eminent domain to take Wayne Presbyterian Church’s parking spaces. In that instance, friendly fire sparked a friendly resolution.
The VFMA deal – whether negotiated or seized – will be a boon for the township, Larkin says.
So this whole issue just got a little more fun at least for me to watch with popcorn.
Again, no one wants more residential development over there, but the flipside is sometimes Radnor needs to do things the right way not the way they just feel is more expedient. These commissioners needs to learn how to do things differently, and they also got some stripes in their proverbial hides courtesy of residents who are pissed off because they doesn’t respond to emails apparently.
Get your popcorn, ready kids, I’m not kidding. Radnor had a personally delivered warning on camera tonight. No matter how pleasant it was delivered, I think the message is pretty goddamn clear.
Seriously, you can’t make this stuff up. Just when you think there’s no more Barsouming to be had, here she comes again! She is the Britney Spears of county government! Oops she did it again!
A Pennsylvania county election office that was already facing criticism for a 2025 election snafu and an alleged hostile work environment is dealing with another error.
Roughly 145,000 mail ballot applications sent out in Chester County this week for the 2026 elections were printed with the first and last names of voters reversed…..Chester County’s election director, Karen Barsoum, confirmed ….Barsoum declined to say which employee or division of the office performed the check.
She said the accuracy check was more focused on confirming that the proper information, such as voter ID number or address, was connected to the right voter rather than whether the names were in the correct order.
Mmmkay Karen and once again we hear crickets versus a simple apology or truly owning yet another screw-up.
Effective leadership starts at the top and she’s not a leader is she? She’s not a good manager is she?
So last night I posted a single comment regarding the Super Bowl Half Time Show:
“Maybe my age is showing, but I don’t get it or the controversy.”
I wasn’t being a racist asking this. I was accused of that. Twice. So pardon me for not literally getting why it was such a big negative deal that this guy performed. I just watched the half time show again and I still don’t get it. What was it like IMHO? Like a big happy block party.
I posted on my blog’s Facebook page about it. I am not a rap person. I do like Latin beat and salsa because it’s happy music and the dancing is cool to watch. I had a Cuban American uncle from Miami who scowled a lot when I was a child, but you learned things. That is how I first tried Cuban coffee, which I like as much as Espresso. Either his parents or grandparents had immigrated at some point to the US like most of our relatives of some generation or another – they were here long before Bay of pigs, etc.
One of my closest friends from high school lived in Puerto Rico a bunch of years, and built a house there. She likes Bad Bunny because she has always liked rap and hip hop and she also likes Latin music as a now Floridian. So I listened to the halftime show and watched it. I particularly liked the part with Lady Gaga and there were parts I neither liked and or disliked, I just didn’t understand because I don’t speak Spanish. But it wasn’t an unpleasant experience. It was upbeat and there were no wardrobe malfunctions.
So I posted about it with a screenshot of Bad Bunny dancing with Lady Gaga and said I didn’t understand what the big deal was. I decided write that in there the problem wasn’t bad bunny. The problem were the idiots on the Internet. Some Haitian woman literally called me a racist because I said I didn’t understand what the big deal was since October or whenever it was, the NFL chose him.
I have never understood what the big deal was. I mean seriously they’ve had every kind of act for the Super Bowl since I was old enough to remember so what was the big deal? As opposed to Janet Jackson, he kept his costume on. It was like a big block party and that made it fun.
Here is some of the nonsense that got posted on my blog’s Facebook page, and yes I have been snarkier than usual because this constant stream of BS is ridiculous. We all descend from immigrants at some point in this country. It’s how our country was populated. Literally people were saying Puerto Ricans aren’t Americans. So freaking offensive and wow they don’t even know the basics of US history when it comes to people from our territories. I bet they think people from the US Virgin Islands aren’t Americans either?
Once again, 1930’s Germany with social media. When they start their new master race these Mensas, who won’t be white enough for them? Yes I did just say this out loud. And interesting to note was that Charlie Kirk’s widow did not seem to have been present for the “All American” alternative halftime show honoring her late husband and why is that?
And Kid Rock who has always just been crass at a bare minimum has always had controversies far worse than most:
“We’re not savages, we’re not animals, we’re not aliens, we are humans and we are Americans,” the performer said last week. “The hate gets more powerful with more hate. The only thing that is more powerful than hate is love. So we need to be different. If we fight, we have to do it with love. We don’t hate them. We love our people. We love our family, and that’s the way to do it with love. Don’t forget that, please. Thank you.”
And let’s talk again about positioning Kid Rock as a paragon of everything wholesome? Really? Well I guess Jeffrey Epstein is dead right?
He is faith, family, and freedom? He’s an ugly American…literally.
They had he and the other performers all clothed up like a Mormon wedding….I included screenshots of the one female performer and it’s a shame she can’t buy a clue because she has a lovely voice:
Look I also do not get the AI generated thing about Bad Bunny burning a flag. It literally did not happen.
We are a country founded by immigrants. Puerto Ricans are literally Americans. So are folks from the U.S. Virgin Islands and other U.S. territories.
No one makes anyone watch anything on TV. One chooses to watch something on TV. Bad Bunny was never the problem here.
I am so fatigued by this nonsense, aren’t you? Every day it’s something. The new normal is anything but. We live in the era of ugly Americans. The most pathetic thing is our founding fathers fought, bled, and died so they could have the right to be asshats at every turn…and now they want our rights to be subjective and disappear.
