life and local-ish politics

I have been musing about stuff. Sometimes I feel the need to write about something, only I have to chew on it a while or sleep on it. In this case, it’s been a few days.

It’s about the state of things locally and regionally. No not nationally. Nationally is what it is. No amount of breast beating will change anything right now. Also? Quite frankly I am tired of the excuses of state and local elected officials that everything s the fault of national politics.

It’s not.

We are here in our own corner of the country. People have to go on, but they also have to deal with local issues and regional ones and a lot of the time, the simple fact of life is Washington, DC has nothing to do with it. Neither does political party.

There are people on a state and local level who are supposed to represent all of their plurality fairly and to the best of their ability and not play favorites. But not all play that way.

Some elected officials you don’t hear from. They literally fade into the woodwork and it’s like not having anyone there, or worse, you constantly forget their names because they literally do nothing.

Some elected officials you had great hopes for. You may have even been personally invested (not financially, but personally as in you volunteered for their campaigns, etc.) in them and at first you feel happy and have a sense of hope that the right thing will happen with them in office.

Then with some of them you watch a slow metamorphosis. First it is barely noticeable, then all of a sudden they drank some Kool Aid and kind of sold out. With others, it is once they are elected, they don’t remember your name. That is not me personally, it’s whomever volunteered for them. I don’t volunteer for campaigns, and I don’t donate to them.

Next you have some elected officials begin to believe their own press releases and become rather full of themselves. And then there are those who are just obnoxious at public meetings. And in some cases as I witnessed in the past, abusive of their positions. That used to be a fan favorite in the good old bad old days of Radnor Township for example. I am actually unsure if it is happening again, but seems to appear to be so which is so sad. It’s like everything watchdog citizens did years ago to clean up. The township has been for nothing

There is one commissioner in Radnor who is being particularly pissy with residents lately. I noticed it when they announced the potential of eminent domain against a church. You have to wonder if they think so little of their residence. Why not just resign and do something less stressful with their evenings at times?

You just have to wonder.

Some of these elected officials have a basic issue with maintaining composure at public meetings. But when it’s a politician having outbursts at residents, it leaves a lot to be desired. I wrote about one such person recently. I call it meeting Tourette’s.

This supervisor that I wrote about recently is in West Goshen Township. And for someone who is the chair of the supervisors, I don’t understand why is she so insecure? Since she became a supervisor, she is prone to these outburst on occasion and she can’t handle public comment and then there’s the whole thing of where she basically was trying to apologize to people and then said they were lying and how does that work?

And again, this isn’t a once or maybe even twice occurrence over the I guess it’s about five years she’s been a supervisor, is it?

Yes, recently I wrote about this politician after I saw one of the meeting tirades. I was astounded and as a woman I was also embarrassed that as another woman she lost control like that. I understand being human, but she’s held to a higher standard as an elected official. She’s also held to a higher standard because she is a female politician, so when she throws her little temper tantrums in the public view she makes it harder for the women who come up behind her no matter what the political party because that’s what people remember. And again not a new meeting occurrence for this politician is it?

So this female politician first reached out to a friend of mine. Asked her to take down her post and then asked her to have me take down my post that she was having a bad day. My friend lives in municipality and decided that she would be the bigger person and take the post down. I told my friend I was not taking the post down because it wasn’t the first time it had happened not even the first time in almost 5 years that it had happened.

I thought this was the end of it.

Apparently not since a few days ago this politician then reached out to me singing a very sad song of having a bad day, etc. etc. and she wasn’t a bad person. I never said she was a bad person. I said she can’t control herself in public meetings and is a shrew to the public she is supposed to be serving. The public who elected her to office.

But the best part was, she said she had never read my blog post, but she was asking me to take it down anyway. I mean HUH?

I am choosing not to share what she wrote to me specifically although I could. And again, if this was the first time she had meeting Tourette’s I wouldn’t have written another post, but last time I wrote about her, it was because she was telling a resident who was calm and polite that she would have police remove him and how is that normal? Was that just another bad day?

I asked that politician if she was contacting a reporter working for a or a newspaper or a TV station, would she have contacted them to ask me to take something down?

I think we know the answer to that question don’t we?

And to this politician, I will say a lot of people have bad days, actually truly awful days and don’t act like that do they?

And then another township that has been on. My radar of late is West Vincent again.

And in West Vincent, I really don’t understand what is going on. You have one supervisor who the last time they were at a meeting was in a wheelchair and has not been seen for a bunch of weeks? And then there is another supervisor there who also must have other health issues and the last meeting they were seen wearing a mask as in a medical mask and then left like 20 minutes into a regular board meeting looking scary gray on camera? Then another meeting was canceled because they didn’t have a quorum wasn’t it?

And what’s going to happen at the next meeting which is like Monday? They are literally putting the business of a municipality in Pennsylvania at risk and what’s the endgame? Will they try to slide in politicians that people voted out of office as benchwarmers? It’s a valid question since the manager whose contract they didn’t renew a few years ago is suddenly back as the interim manager, correct?

Something’s definitely got to give there and you have to wonder like when does the state come into municipalities to clean up messes?

And then down in Oxford, they seem to want to get rid of their police force? What kind of politicians want to get rid of the people that serve and protect the public?

These are but a few examples of messy politicians and messy municipalities and the thing is they make it more difficult for other municipalities and other local politicians don’t they?

Face it, for the most part the public trust is broken. And it’s broken also because of the shenanigans at the county level in various counties. Maybe this is just my opinion. Maybe they’re all going to think I’m imagining things, but I don’t think so, do you?

Eventually, for these people, there’s going to be a reckoning. Pick a county and municipality. It can be Delaware County. It can be Montgomery County. It can be Chester County. Note, I left Philadelphia county out because Philadelphia County is a hot mess all by itself and has been for decades.

We all have to want better for our communities then just going along to get along. But you have a lot of social media misinformed armchair quarterbacking and you don’t have a lot of people that go to meetings regularly or even have a clue what’s going on in their own municipality regularly and that’s on the plurality.

I’m sure there are politicians who will read this post and say they haven’t read it (of course) and think they’re being singled out or picked on. They’re not. They’re just part of the problem as far as I’m concerned.

We elect these people in good faith to look after our communities and represent all of us equally and fairly, but do they do that?

My last word on this is if they were doing that, I don’t think we’d be having this conversation, do you?

These politicians need to be better or make way for people who can be better. However, as the plurality the people out there in these communities, we also have to want better.

Do you want better in your community?

Thanks for stopping by.

how many years has this blog write about the joseph price house in exton?

I have given up counting the number of blog posts just about the Joseph Price house in Exton. It’s the house at the corner of S. Whitford Rd. and Clover Hill Road. It’s a gorgeous house.

For years many of us have been concerned because there’s nobody living there and we feel that people have been getting in. There’s a new video from Abandoned Steve and I am very grateful to whoever this videographer is because it shows West Whiteland Township the exact state of this historic asset, and this is a federally listed historic property.

I actually know people who have tried to make a deal to buy this house. I also have been told that people on the West Whiteland Historic Commission have been trying to find a preservation buyer haven’t they? But things don’t seem to be as simple as that do they?

Can we just ask the question why is it that the two owners of this property who have never done anything with the house? It seem to be unable to let it go and are just letting it rot? Why why why why?

Anyway, I hope this video will spur people into convincing these owners to sell to a preservation buyer, etc. and I think West Whiteland needs to make sure this property is properly secured.

I’m having a big I told you so moment now. When I had written about this and said that I had a couple of inside photos that somebody had sent me from like a year or two ago, people argued up down and sideways that the house was occupied.

Well now?

not so fast at lloyd farm in caln, main line health

I received an e-mail today:

Mine Line Health is trying to slip through a 4 story, 140,000 s.f. giant Urgent Care on the Lloyd Farm In Caln.

They bought 14.5 acres of the 60.

Essentially this is a hospital without rooms or emergency facilities.

They will have 4 surgical suites for those nice things like arm and knees, colonoscopies. legs, etc.   This is a hospital for people with insurance.  Only God knows what will happen to all the people in Coatesville or have bad or no insurance.

I have an ever more interesting thought on what they are doing.  I have to ask if thy came in and lied through “information” meetings?  Since they only had to tell people 750 feet from the site, few came.

Now we all know Caln Township is sleazy and I thought they might improve with retired State Senator Andy Dinniman’s former chief of staff Don Vymazal as the new manager (His email is dvymazal@calntownship.org

But alas he apparently has drunk the Kool Aid.

PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING
MUNICIPAL BUILDING

6:30 pm to 8:00 pm

nothing like a stuck truck in wayne at dinner time….and the willows bs (again)

This.

Eyes rolling.

North Wayne Avenue at the Wayne Train Station. A GIANT stuck looks like an 18 wheeler at dinner time. Nice. Can the driver not read? Does he or she not know the height of what they are driving?

Talk about duh.

Who is paying for what? It’s ridiculous and maybe if Commissioner Moira my brother is an actor Mulroney and perpetually cranky and pale Commissioner Jack Larkin can stop hollering at Jake Abel long enough they can look into this? (Yeah commissioners your off camera and on camera antics are noted by quite a few so you can’t blame me can you?)

Also about The Willows. Is it really financially stable? IMHO, I don’t think so. And what exactly does Will Nord do to earn his salary which at the recent Radnor meeting is supposedly $91K+? He’s a pleasant fellow, but still? And they want to hire an events manager? Why doesn’t the caterer have an onsite events manager? And about that caterer? Peachtree? Are they REALLY the best that the Willows can do? Meh. A few years ago I won pop up dinner tickets with them I think somewhere in Radnor, Pomme maybe? Yeah well, still waiting for them to honor that from 2020 and we will leave it at that. I don’t need a free meal, but I did win it in a contest. So now if they offered it? Yeah no thanks, and that made me decide they are a nope on the caterer scale of life.

And what about the remaining asbestos? That remediation is specific and expensive, correct?

The woman discussing the finances was arch and rather defensive so that means kids, that it’s all really not so hot is it?

And the neighbors sound issues are very real and if Radnor and the Willows Park Preserve think the neighbors are going to go away they will not. Look at the issues in the past until it was worked out at Appleford in Lower Merion. Will Nord thinks everyone is having pink fluffy clouds Kumbaya conversations? The Inveraray neighbors are pissed. I wouldn’t mess with that HOA, would you?

And if Peachtree is selling a house party vibe, they are not correctly marketing the property and Peachtree has full exclusive control as a caterer, so sorry not sorry they do indeed have responsibility towards dealing with any issue, including noise, don’t you think? Are they spread too thin with locations at the Willows, Pomme, Portico at Awbry, and Parque at ridley Creek State Park and again I ask if they are making the dough ray me as an exclusive caterer at FOUR venues why can’t THEY pay for the events planner needed? Usually an events planner is hired by the site if there is NO as in ZERO exclusive caterer.

I think the Willows Park Preserve is a hot mess and sinking further. And yeah, asbestos remediation? Check back through paperwork Radnor Township and I think you will find it is definitely not al complete. And what about the cottage? All of the money wasted on that and NO ONE EVER TALKS ABOUT IT AND WHY?

And let’s talk some more how you wanted to use eminent domain against a church?

Damn Radnor Township, you can’t get out of your own way.

people, a dead mum is not a christmas decoration.

Seriously a dead chrysanthemum (mum) is just a dead mum. Would you spray paint a dead squirrel ? Probably not, right? So if you can’t keep a chrysanthemum (mum) alive and transplant it into your garden for next year, why can’t you give it a dignified exit?

I’ve been seeing this disturbing barf worthy loving hands at home craft idea since like 2018 or 2019 and I can’t believe it’s still around. It’s still ugly and it still looks like a spray paint it dead plant with some Christmas ornaments stuck in it.

People have videos on YouTube and TikTok about this. How on earth do they think that’s crafting or normal looking or festive? It looks like Morticia Adams got bored with cutting the heads off of flowers.

I’m sorry is it just me or am I being mean? There are those who like to say I am a mean blogger as some of tell me that all the time all of you lovely people out there but I might have a grinch about Christmas? I don’t think so because I actually love Christmas and I don’t see a dead mum as a Christmas decoration.

Take this TikTok from Horine Homestead:

Or this one from Lora Bo

Actually, there are tons of videos on TikTok and elsewhere about this which is just like blows my mind.

If you want to add pizazz to your front porch or front walk and more, try real greens or even something artificial and even weather resistant Christmas greenery.

I guess my point is there are so many things that you can do with so little to create Christmas magic out front of your house or even in different parts of the inside of your house and it doesn’t mean you have to spray paint dead plants.

Honestly, it looks as bad as it sounds.

And the dead spray painted ferns are even worse.

Rant over.

really west goshen residents, she loves you…

West Goshen Stupidvisor Ashley Gagme has a syndrome known as Meeting Tourette’s. But it seems like she just does verbal cartwheels in their boardroom. Too often.

Honey, we know you have political aspirations…I mean look 👀 at you never missing a photo op with Josh Shapiro, right? (Although that could also be a thing about older men maybe? ) But you kind of have to curb your enthusiasm at meetings and remember that the boardroom is full of adults, not children to be chided, right? Unless you want to be your own HBO show or something? Think of it as The Office meets Curb Your Enthusiasm….sorry I am getting ahead of myself, but oh the imagination could just run wild with all the other squirrelly behavior in West Goshen, right?

And yes, my dear, I am allowed my opinions. Be the Queen of the Word Salad if you must, just try to rein it in a little ok? I mean girl, come on now, you don’t want to have the reputation of behaving like the Democrat version of Marjorie Taylor Greene, right?

Kiss 💋 kiss 💋 and happy Friday.

these are not my people and the gop of my childhood is dead. vote to stop the dramala.

These are not my people

That is just cult-like ugliness above. I can’t get past that. I remember when I was proud to be a Republican. I do. I was even an RNC 2000 Media Relations Volunteer. I lent a U.S. Congressman who was a platform speaker cab fare because no one else recognized him. I met Colin Powell, Arnold Schwarzenegger and his then wife Maria Shriver. I felt like I was part of something that mattered.

These are not my people.

Then slowly it started to change. More and more I split my ticket when voting. The last GOP Congressperson I believed in was Jim Gerlach. Mostly because you knew he actually cared about his constituents, and proved that helping us fight eminent domain in Ardmore. Through him we met other Republican Congressmen like Jim Sensenbrenner and John Boehner. And I actually liked both of them.

But these Republicans? They are part of the political party that no longer exists. They are Trumpublicans, bought and paid for and influenced by a person who has spent his whole life gaming the system.

What has survived and what this political party has morphed into is ugly and violent and full of hate fueled rhetoric that is more cult than political. I just can’t do that.

I saw the changes coming and 2016 was when I said no and walked away. The GOP chose a man who has as his greatest accomplishment turning this country into a version of his ugly soul. That was my moment when I realized I was no longer a Republican as that party wished to define it vis-à-vis him as a candidate.

The simple truth is Donald Trump has never ever changed who he truly is. I remember when he was in the Academy Ball Book for the Academy Ball benefitting the Academy of Music. I remember thinking then now decades ago how sleazy he looked, and why didn’t the people posing in the photos with him for this great non-profit see it? I will note some of these people still support him, and I still don’t understand why now any more than I understood why then why they thought he was wonderful.

It’s simple: he’s the ultimate charlatan. He’s the Jim Jones of this era, and much like Jonestown of 1978, Trump’s followers today have drunk the Kool Aid, only as opposed to 1978 it’s not spiked with poison it’s proverbial.

I don’t know why it’s so easy for people to fall in love with him. I think they’re looking for things that are lacking in their own lives if you want to know, my honest opinion. because if you have a rational mind, he doesn’t make sense. And that’s why you are seeing all the Republicans that all these Trumpublicans used to worship being maligned because they have stood up and said enough this isn’t the party of Lincoln. This is NOT our guy and this isn’t a person for this country and it’s time to vote country over party.

And these believers? A lot of them are the ones who make everything more unpleasant even in our every day lives when they try to politicize everything. It’s like he gave the schoolyard bullies we grew up with a voice. They even bully their own co-believers. You can’t be part of the popular lunch tables unless you do exactly as they tell you.

And now there’s all this last minute campaign rhetoric coming right from the proverbial horse’s mouth, like that if Trumpublican men’s wives vote for Kamala Harris, it’s like cheating on their husbands. I mean seriously? What kind of bullshit is that? The ones that are on the fence? No one can see who you are voting for. You can vote however you choose you do not have to tell a soul. It’s your constitutional right, and as I told a Republican I know last week, the thing I wanted them to think about was the fact that they had daughters. And if they wanted their daughters to be absolutely guaranteed to have their rights preserved even to be pro-choice, then Trump wasn’t their guy. I said they weren’t just voting their preference. They were also voting the futures and rights of their children who could not vote.

I have to wonder since Trump wants to take care of all the women whether they want it or not if he had his druthers, would he repeal a woman’s right to vote just like he got rid of a woman’s right to choose?

I don’t expect my words to sway anyone. I am only expressing how I feel which is my right. do I have children of my own? No, I was never able to have them, but I am voting for the future that I want my stepson to have and my niece and my nephew and my friends and other family members kids and their kids after them.

Every day if you turn on the TV or you turn on social media or you pick up a newspaper all you see, are these rallies of ugliness. A chant of fight fight fight. Fists in the air that is reminiscent of Nazi Germany or any communist takeover even if the hand/wrist action is not exactly similar. It’s a feeling.

If you want to have your vote count, you can’t just vote necessarily the way your political party expects you to. You have to look at the bigger picture where it is literally country over any party.

Again, I can’t tell any of you how to vote, only encourage you to understand that we can indeed handle a female President. She represents among other things what I believe our forefathers wanted: the changing face of a country founded by immigrants.

Vote for our forefathers. Vote for the women who came before us. Vote for Abigail Adams. Vote for Dolly Madison. Vote for Sarah Bass Allen. Vote for Carrie Chapman Catt. Vote for Matilda Joslyn Gage. Vote for Susan B. Anthony. Vote for the Mercer girls. Vote for Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

Vote for any of the women whom you know or are related to. Vote in memory of those women you knew who are no longer with us.

I hope you choose Kamala Harris, just because it is the right thing to do. The GOP, the party of Lincoln is dead. Voting like mom and dad might of won’t mean anything because the GOP they believed in, again, is dead. If you had asked a much younger me would I vote Democrat let alone become one, I would have simply said “no way”, yet here we are.

Being a true “patriot” doesn’t mean walking lock step for a petty dictator waiting for his next opportunity while waving false flags. Being a real patriot means doing potentially a personally difficult choice, but as an American you know in your core, that you need to vote for a woman who will preserve the US Constitution, not obliterate it for personal gain.

Taken just a little while ago. All for corners of Sugartown & Lancaster in Tredyffrin. They are blocking pedestrians with flags and signs from feeling like they can cross the street safely. That is intimidation. These are not my people and this is the patch of ChesCo GOP chair Raffi Terzian. Is this acceptable to him? Public safely and free flow of people comes first!

Again, your vote is your choice. Just please remember all of those who fought, bled, and died to make this country truly free. Those are the true patriots. They wouldn’t want a man who is a threat to what they accomplished for all of us to get a second bite at the apple.

I am not any more of a biddable Democrat than I was a biddable Republican. I look at the candidates beyond mere political persuasion. That makes me inconvenient to any political party and I don’t really care.

I hope everyone votes as an American on Tuesday. I hope everyone votes for their country over party.

That’s all.

bah humbug if you can’t do a little holiday decorating.

I am going to be a total bah humbug here. I feel like now we have a Instacart for holiday decorating. And I love Instacart but it’s for groceries and maybe Home Depot and Lowe’s when you don’t want to get your car all dirty.

But it’s like no one wants to do anything any longer that used to bring us all so much joy. And I don’t think people are necessarily busier today then they might’ve been 10 years ago or so.

I don’t know maybe I am some kind of an old fart at this point, but I have always loved doing my pumpkins and decorating for Christmas. And that’s been since I was a kid.

When I was a little girl, I helped my parents decorate. I had the most wonderful memories of going on then snowy nights with my father to pick out a Christmas tree. Thanks to climate change we don’t get many snowy nights anymore, but I digress.

As I grew up and got out on my own, no matter how busy I was, I found the me time to decorate for holidays. And I had total joy in going to things like the Saint Davids Fair in the fall, looking for new decorations and haunting thrift shops for cool vintage things.

I figured out long ago it wasn’t so hard to make a wreath. And that was whether I was making one out of ornaments or live greens or fake greens.

I am not Martha Stewart. Nor am I particularly crafty. I can cook, I can garden, but I am not a craft diva. That’s something entirely different, and you don’t have to be a craft diva or a decorator to do your house up for the holidays!

So we learned in October that there are professional pumpkin pimpers. Because God forbid, you pick out a pumpkin and put it on your porch or your front step yourself. Better yet you need to spend hundreds of unnecessary dollars to have someone look like it vomited pumpkins on your porch or front walk.

But the holidays/Christmas? How can you want someone to make you look like you live in Stepfordville? And Christmas is not for a beige beige world.

Now I do understand when people want someone to put lights in a really, really tall tree. Most people don’t have a bucket truck lying around.

I also understand when people are having a party somewhere and they need the help of a florist or a stager to get it together. Especially if you are renting a space which doesn’t necessarily come with furniture and things to give you your look.

I understand people that when they have Christmas parties or even Thanksgiving dinner, gatherings that they go to a local florist for table arrangements. But the rest of it? It’s not hard nor difficult.

If you are unsure what to do with greens outside your house, you can buy lovely preconceived packages from BloomBox. Literally with them, you can buy DIY container kits and you’re out per kit under 100 bucks before tax.

But this new service? It’s like you’re paying for a middle person to deliver Balsam Hill. Only to be honest, I think Balsam Hill artificial greens are better looking than what I saw on that website.

Greens and stems in an old tin watering can, cut from the garden. Simple, happy and festive…and not hundreds of dollars

And just FYI for information sake, these foyer fluffernutters offer packages that start at $475.00 but that doesn’t include service packages. Those start at $380.00. The higher end of their spectrum? $1150.00 before service, service packages add $750.00 and none of these service figures includes true customization. No ribbons, no ornaments. In other words, you look pretty bland like everyone else.

Do you really want your holiday decorations to look like everyone else on the block?

If you do, then this post is not for you. If you don’t, I’m telling you I think the prices are ridiculous and you’re paying for the Emperor’s new clothes and they’re not very attractive.

Spindle tree from BloomBox. Decorations by me.

Look, I understand the time is at a premium for some people, but when you just order the holidays without benefit of participating in the decorating, you’re missing out.

And if money is no option and you want to look like it’s a Stepford wife Christmas then hire somebody with the samey same packages.

But I think the better plan is to enjoy the reasons for the season which includes being creative and even encouraging your kids to get creatively festive. Try it, it will bring you joy.

I love Christmas. I love decorating for the holidays. I realize not everybody does, but from a practical standpoint it’s easy to do yourself, and you can save a lot of money, and not look like everyone else.

Don’t be bah humbug. Remember the little kid joys of paper chains and cut out snowflakes.

But please don’t start playing Christmas music until after Thanksgiving.

Thanks for stopping by.

oh neil, nice try, and the last word? all mine, bless your heart.

Apparently I got into his head. And he’s welcome. After all, he’s a pleasant looking human and now he has better haircut styling than before:

However, you did not learn the lesson of politicians are judged by the company you keep:

So a little while ago I was on WCHE with my friend Barry. And yes we are friends who can disagree and walk away friends. One area where we disagree is him having Neil Young on a second time (as in the guy running for Congress.)

Once again, he followed in my wake, assuming he has the last word and in a sense today, trying to ride on my coattails. It was amusing. I am so far in his head he couldn’t keep my name out of his mouth.…only I am not running for office and have no desire to. And yes I have been asked over the years…by both sides.

This is pretty amusing to me. But again, at least he learned he needed a better haircut. Maybe it’s a female thing. We notice haircuts. Apparently our friend Neil might be a little insecure having had to follow moi not once but twice on the same radio show? Sorry not sorry.

But that isn’t the funniest thing. He says how he reads my blog etc. etc. yet his campaign Facebook page block’s my blog’s Facebook page? I don’t block the page, I checked. That didn’t work so well for Montgomery County Commissioner Joe Gale once upon a time and others Not merely referring to my blog, but all of the people who have disagreed with politicians when there is case law about it.

Whatever. It’s not the first time it has happened, and I honestly do not care, it’s just amusing. It’s also amusing when you know you have been blocked and say it and then you are all of a sudden not blocked at some point. It’s just social media.

Just like it’s social media and election season when candidates for political parties that do not actually believe in affordable housing, imply they are.

And although a candidate should actually truly as in daily LIVE the area they are running in, someone who moved into an area for college and stayed, or moved here to raise a family, or moved here because of a job but stayed are not any less important than someone who was born in a particular area. Neil it’s about the actual living here part, not when you arrived or like the fake living here as is the case with Dave McCormick, Rick Santorum, and Dr. Oz for but 3 examples.

And Neil your district extends well beyond the boundaries of Downingtown and Coatesville High Schools.

As an example of moving here, there is former Congressman Jim Gerlach was born in Ellwood City, PA which is not too far from West Virginia and Ohio borders yet he was an amazing Congressman to the 6th district. He came into the district originally to take a job in Chester County. Also important? He served in the state house and the state senate before running for congress. He didn’t just wake up and decide to run for congress. He had huge bi-partisan support when he ran for congress. He had that in his constituency all of the way through. You sure don’t.

But Neil sweetie, you will have to get up a lot earlier to get the last word on me. Sign me still not buying what you’re selling.

Kiss kiss.

That silly man thinks he gets the last word with me? LOL

radnor township want to exercise eminent domain for private gain over wayne presbyterian church. that’s bollocks.

Heavy handed leverage. That’s what a retired real estate lawyer said.

And Radnor Township is trying to wield the ultimate thug tool against with Wayne Presbyterian Church, eminent domain. And given this is for the Wayne Business District, this in my humble opinion, this makes it eminent domain for private gain. That’s bollocks.

Can we talk about how combative and rude Commissioner Jack Larkin is? I guess his life experience over the past couple of years has not taught him to be kind or humble. He should discover both qualities, after all pride goeth before a fall, Commissioner Jack Larkin. Try being pleasant and not a bully.

If Radnor Township was acting in good faith, they would not have enacted an eminent domain ordinance, and it is pretty much that god damn simple. And they are doing this against a church.

I have not had such distrust of Radnor Township since Dave Bashore was the manager and that is saying something. Radnor needs to clean house again from commissioners to manager. There are few things that upset me more than eminent domain. I know the realities of it. First hand. We saw it in Ardmore. We saw it Coatesville. We saw it in Long Branch, NJ. We saw it in New London, CT. Just ask the Institute for Justice.

You know what is worse then eminent domain for private gain? Eminent domain for public purpose that really has private gain driving it. And THAT is what Radnor is attempting which is why I categorize as really being about private gain. And in Radnor’s meeting last week, the Wayne Business Association said they support the actions of Radnor Township.

I can tell you as long as an eminent domain ordinance lurks against a church in Wayne, no one I know will be going to Wayne to even buy a cup of coffee.

A relatively newer resident spoke up, after hearing this. Not sure why he was at the meeting, but hooray for common sense:

And then there was Commissioner Jack Larkin’s grandfather I guess it is. Even HE said eminent domain was wrong. So Larkin listens to no one except himself on this it seems, so will grandpa’s thoughts matter?

This is another bad plan from Radnor Township. They seem to be making these bad plans more and more consistently.

Radnor residents and supporters of Wayne Presbyterian Church and haters of eminent domain? The clock is ticking. get those card and letters and emails and calls going and attend the meetings. This is wrong, and what is not wrong after all these decades is the church wanting to see more revenue.

Here is Radnor’s staff directory: https://www.radnor.com/government/staff-directory

And oh by the way? This meeting also had some updates about the Willows? Radnor Township should take the neighbors’ noise concerns seriously and so should the caterer in residence. I don’t think much of them anyway. I won tickets to a pop up dinner with them once, and they never honored it. I won it during COVID, end of 2019, early 2020 and it ultimately got postponed and then they essentially ghosted me. Actually I think the Willows is a hopeless mess and that is a subject for another day and it is so sad. And what about the cottage? No one ever wants to talk about that debacle and waste of a one time restoration.

Back to Radnor Township being a municipal bully. Here is the SAVVY or it all plus an article from Main Line Times. Read both and remember: eminent domain is a thug tactic, not a form of negotiation. No more Wayne for me until this is settled. Eminent domain has no gain.

A separation of Church and State in Wayne? Radnor Township makes moves to seize Wayne Presbyterian Church property. But talks have resumed.

Radnor Township has taken the first step toward seizing by eminent domain the parking area it leases from Wayne Presbyterian Church (WPC), a sizable section of the large Station Ave. municipal lot.

Radnor Commissioners voted 4 to 1 at their Oct. 14 meeting to move forward with an ordinance (below) that would authorize the township to file a “declaration of taking” in the Delco Court of Common Pleas in November.
