then and now

The very little kids that were once in my neighborhood are now all young adults. So I miss a lot of the sounds of kids in the summer. I hear them now and again through the woods from neighboring streets, and it makes me smile. that is such a happy sound, the sound of kids playing outside in the summer.

That doesn’t necessarily happen the same way today as when we were kids. Among other things we live in a very different world. And I would like to think kids can go out and play kick the can and hide and seek as dusk turns to dark, but I don’t know if they still do or not.

Have you ever noticed that sometimes in the very early morning when you’re getting ready to wake up, sometimes memories, come unbidden at the end of dreaming as you start to wake? Since the windows have been open the past couple of nights because thankfully it’s been cooler, I had a couple of those memories.

When was of summer nights at the beach when we were little. We all played and played, and sometimes we went with our parents and their friends and their kids to stand on the beach and look up at the starry sky and learn about the constellations, I used to love that. Do kids still do that?

Other memories are under a beach street light as we chased those little frogs or maybe they were toads that you used to see all over Avalon, NJ in the summer. I remember we used to find them in particular at this house people we knew back the used to rent in the summer. It was like a dark red clapboard house. I don’t even know if the house exists because so much of Avalon has been torn down and new houses built. The house was down somewhere near 15th street, but it was a couple blocks off of the beach.

That house is one that I remember because it had an old-fashioned screened in porch and when you went up into a little driveway, it was right there. The house was situated sideways from the street, so you went in the little teeny weenie, kind of driveway and the front of the house was at the side of the driveway. The driveway wasn’t paved. It was pebbles and the front porch had squeaky old-fashioned screen doors.

I remember the girl’s father used to make chili in the summer and he made it with corn. And I remember the girl had an Easy Bake oven. Remember those? (Of course she also had a hamster that lived in the center of the dining room table, which I didn’t like very much and it was kind of gross to look at the hamster doing their thing including pooping while you’re eating dinner.)

But it’s funny. I’ve had a few of these late summer memories popping up in the wee hours of the morning and I think of now is the time my mother used to start stressing out about whether we had everything we needed to go back to school with. When I was really little that included visits to the place in Conshohocken, that was like basically a uniform factory. How I hated that store. You had to stand there and be measured in the fabrics were scratchy.

And other things I’ve noticed is how the air is starting to change and feel at night as we get closer to September. I don’t know how to explain it adequately, so I hope I’m verbalizing it right but you know how the air just changes how it feels at the end of summer. And that’s one of those things I’ve always noticed, when the air starts to change.

Sometimes I wonder what it’s like being a kid today. What I mean is being a kid has its ups and downs, no matter what right? But it seems that maybe times were a little bit more simple when we were growing up? Or is it that we were simply younger, and we didn’t see things through adult eyes?

And I was thinking about summer memories again last night when I was outside, listening to the owls in our woods. we have screech, owls and another kind of owl with a deep low “who who.” There were also wood thrushes singing at dusk. I’ve always loved looking at and listening to birds outside, and I think the little kid I once was would’ve loved listening to owls at night.

OK, just some random acts of pondering meets memories. Have a great day.

yo penndot, stop messing with our bbq and other businesses’ access.

Welcome to Hell on Earth by PennDOT.

This is Route 29 in East Whiteland Township Chester County.

Forget about the fact for a moment that we’ve lost track of how many times they’ve remediated this sinkhole already, and concentrate on every single time PennDot comes to do work, they almost put businesses out of business and who knows how many businesses actually failed over time because of their construction?

They can’t just tell State Senator Katie Muth’s office and other elected officials that they have put in a lane so people can turn it’s not as simple as that and the traffic is horrendous.

And once again with PennDot, the project started late and it won’t finish anywhere near on time. FarmBoy BBQ and the other businesses around here need our support. And complaining to Penndot about their projects and how long they take and how the roads are also doesn’t hurt.

Seriously it’s bad. I took this video as a passenger in a car today on a weekend day because I would not be on the stretch of highway Monday through Friday. It’s horrendous.

I’m not saying this project didn’t need to happen, I want to be clear about that again. Of course it had to happen. There’s a sink hole again. But PennDOT announces these projects, tells you when they’re going to start, then they don’t start on that date like they are supposed to, and then they never finish on time…. and it’s endless.

These businesses and their employees are struggling. Actually people in developments I don’t like right around here are also struggling. Anybody who has to use this stretch of road for whatever reason is struggling, and that I am told it even includes the tow truck people who have to respond to accidents. Since they are being held up because of this construction. and since they help first responders at accident scenes, that’s kind of bad news, right?

PennDOT has a job to do, but they need to do it better and they need to care about the residents, commuters, and the small businesses they are affecting over on Route 29 a.k.a. Moorhall Road.

I’m hoping that when people see this, they will actually complain to Penndot as well as supporting the businesses along here who are affected. We got firsthand experience as to what this was all about today when we went to FarmBoy barbecue for a delicious lunch.

did you know historic yellow springs got beaten up by storms recently?

I’ve been meaning to write about this and I just have had time get away from me, and not enough hours in the day. Historic Yellow Springs is one of my favorite places in Chester County. I was introduced to the village many moons ago by my late father who loved this little piece of Chester County. (He also loved the antique show they used to have that they should bring back.)

Anyway, it’s no joke that we keep having these series of thunderstorms with accompanying winds and more that are wreaking havoc on places. And the ones just after Fourth of July did significant damage to Historic Yellow Springs.

They are working their way through it, but I never saw any local media pick up the fact that this beautiful historic village was a storm victim. They showed lots of other storm damage, why not Historic Yellow Springs Village?

For example, the poor library experienced damage from a storm in February, it sustained more damage in early July.

According to what they wrote, and I will share screenshots and their photos more than 100 trees were damaged or destroyed. That’s a significant amount and this is a place with very old growth trees as well. Cleanup is going to take months, and they are in a township that I think leaves a lot to be desired as far as being clear about anything, and if West Pikeland can’t be trusted with keeping a police force, how can they be trusted with the village?

So I think Yellow springs is doing a marvelous job of navigating the process of doing what they have to do to take care of the structures that were damaged and storm cleanup, but I’m sure that right now they could use a little extra help in the donation department because as homeowners we know how expensive this work is, let alone being responsible for an entire village of historic assets.

Chester County has a lot of deep pockets who could help one of our county treasures, so I’m putting this out there with their words to follow in the hopes that people can even give a small contribution.

https://yellowsprings.org/support/donate/

Now to follow, is life in the village in their own words published on their socials yesterday after this storm in early July:

Storm Impact Update

Having climbed the fields of shattered and fallen trees, and listened to the chainsaws for days on end, we feel incredibly fortunate for the relatively limited damage to buildings that occurred with the dangerous storm on July 7th. Additionally, I am incredibly thankful for the forethought of our programs team to heed weather warnings, and decide to cancel classes proactively, likely saving lives, given the severity of the event.

This storm tore through our property with extraordinary force. Estimates are showing nearly 100 trees were destroyed or badly damaged, with cleanup efforts likely to continue for months.

The days following the storm were focused on safety assessments and clearing access. Staff and volunteers mobilized quickly, working tirelessly to make the village safe again. Every tool in our arsenal was leveraged just to try to move enough limbs to uncover all corners of the village and reach some sense of normalcy.

Once paths were cleared, hidden structural damage began to emerge:

  • The glazing space behind the old studio barn was smashed.
  • The courtyard fountain, power supply, and roofing on the Washington Building suffered major hits from a fallen sycamore limbs.
  • The Chester Springs Library, sustained new roof damage that allowed water infiltration.

As you may recall, a previous extreme weather event in February, led to structural damage to the roof of the Library. Since then, HYS and the Library have worked closely with insurers, engineers, and contractors to bring this historic structure up to code and safely reopen the Library. We empathize with the public for the loss of resources during the library’s closure and have offered alternate village spaces for free programs whenever possible.

While the temporary protection applied to the roof after the February event held up impressively, wind torn limbs and the fierce rain from the most recent storm punctured new holes on the opposite side of the roof and allowed water to reach inside the building. Within a day of forging a path through the storm debris, we had professional carpentry crews on site ensuring the roof was watertight and not in danger of falling, and commercial-grade air handlers and dehumidifiers were added to move out moisture. Cleanup continues and collaboration between HYS, the Library, engineers, and insurers is ongoing with the goal of getting this historic building bustling again.

During this recovery period, programs continue in unaffected buildings across the village, and we maintain a robust calendar of events to keep our community engaged and inspired. We are constantly discussing new opportunities with partners, and looking for creative ways to make programs happen.

We are deeply grateful to those who have already offered time, talent, and funds. We will keep you informed about progress and ways you can help as we restore every facet of the village for a vibrant future.

Now I’m going to show you the screenshots I took today off of Facebook and everything is from the village’s social media, including their photos. This place is a little slice of heaven, and if you can help them out with a small donation, it would be great. You can also maybe let the county commissioners know when they’re finished designing bad logos, and hiring lots of people that this is a historic asset worth supporting. (sorry not sorry, sometimes I think they need to get out of the Borough of West Chester more.)

With the United States having a big birthday in 2026, and Chester County being a big focus, we want this jewel shining bright and strong.

things that make you ponder

I will open this post with you can’t be all things to all people. Those who say they can are selfish, narcissists, or even delusional. So why pretend? Just be yourself, yet people pretend because they think that is what your are supposed to do.

Life is too short to be other than yourself. Take off the veneer and get real.

On the 4th of July I posted something to my personal page. I decided to share it here today.

I called it the care and feeding of relationships:

I will preface my comments with this isn’t directed at any one person in particular or any group of people in particular. These are just some of the things I think about. (now people are saying uh-oh, she’s been thinking again. )

People grow and change as they age. Sometimes for the better, sometimes not so good.

I am really lucky because I literally have friends from like grade school on. And I value my relationships but as I age, it’s just human nature that I don’t think perhaps some people value me as much in some cases, or they have a perception of who they think I should be when I’ve always been just myself .

I have always told people I’m an acquired taste. And I’ve always been opinionated. But the difference between me and a lot of other people you might come across in your life is I am a real person, I don’t just play one on social media.

But I think a lot of people don’t put time into their relationships. I try to stay in touch with people, but sometimes I fall flat at that goal because life gets in the way and if you don’t hear from me, it’s not because I’ve moved onto the next best thing, it just means I have stuff going on in my own life.

It’s just like I don’t get particularly upset if I don’t hear from certain friends all of the time, because I know they have stuff going on. I don’t think any of this used to bother people as much before social media. I think well social media does this great job of bringing people together, it also leaves us with somewhat unrealistic expectations at time or the need for instant gratification.

I think from time to time we all have stuff going on in our lives. And I think one of the things that I don’t particularly care for in our modern society is people are often very quick to dispose of other people and there’s also the thing that a lot of people don’t have conversations anymore. I think it’s gone the way of letter writing.

Conversely, in this new disposable world in which we live, it does smart when you realize that there are some people you don’t hear from in real life because you no longer have a use. But I can’t control them. I can only control myself. Just like the people who literally only call to unload their lives, and with some of them you are waiting for them to simply ask you how your day is going.

Life evolves, and people with it. I merely wanted to simply say I appreciate the people in my world.

And I do.

But then there are things I do not appreciate.

One thing I do not appreciate is when someone randomly says to people that a donation in kind I made to a local non-profit vis-à-vis taking event photos at an event is something I was compensated for. I am not a Freddie Freeloader. I buy my own event tickets, sometimes even sponsorships in addition. Most recently I have done this for Surrey Services for Seniors. I sweated it out at their recent garden party friendraiser/fundraiser. I took hundreds of photos, and I think in the end, they got close to 350.

I was an “In Kind” partner as a matter of fact. I was not paid, it was volunteer. That amount of photos taken edited and delivered within a week can cost a non-profit thousands, depending upon the photographer. I used to be a second to a professionally trained photographer for weddings and big events. So in a sense I was this woman’s apprentice. I loved learning, and will never say I am other than a digital photographer who seconded a professional photographer. I do not shoot events professionally, what I do these days is for pleasure and as a donation. Friends, former friends, and frenemies have benefitted from my occasional assist.

I like taking photos at events because it gives me a break from small talk, honestly. I do not have the staying power for that these days as much as I used to, and I do not drink much. So it keeps me busy and moving around and having fun capturing moments of an event that are not staged or posed. People like having those memories. I also did this for Surrey at their Holiday House Tour, and for the 2024 event, I took photos as an additional donation, purchased four tickets, and a sponsorship. I paid and donated my way.

I used to do the same for quite a few years when the Tredyffrin Historic Preservation Trust was doing their fabulous house tours. I used to photograph the houses going on the tours from the exterior before the event and preview party. My love of cool old houses and churches is nothing new, it was heaven to do it. And my husband and I would buy tickets and be a sponsor. Like Surrey, it is an organization I believe in and a worthy cause. I was not paid to take photos, etc.

When I take photos at Life’s Patina events and do little videos, I am also not paid. I do it because we buy tickets to the event and love the events and non-profits they highlight. The team at Life’s Patina will tell you I also go for the felted mice.

Believe it or not, sometimes people do things for the right reasons and to pay it forward.

It’s like when people have tried to say I am a compensated blogger. I am not. I have never been a compensated blogger and in case none of you have ever noticed, I pay extra for this blog to NOT have ads.

Other things? Read on…or leave the post now….your choice.

Recently we placed an Uber Eats order. It was hot and no one felt like cooking. Our delivery person asked me if I wanted to sell my house when I opened the door to retrieve the order. And gave me a real estate flyer.

I was not rude to this person, and I have been in the past when unsolicited realtors have headed my way door knocking. But I have to tell you when you allow yourself the little luxury of delivered groceries or food, you should not be solicited for other things as well. It is creepy and unprofessional. And if we wanted to sell our home, do you really think we would choose a random delivery person?

Other things irritating includes when I am posting about something happening locally. And I am talking about and posting things that others should be posting about in their communities.

And they don’t like my opinion. So they castigate and criticize. Ok, well, I guess that is their right, but f they can do it better, write it better, why don’t they?

Other things I ponder are the reactions of women my age to the next chapter in the HBO MAX Sex in the City called And Just Like That. Not only the reactions, but the time they pour into the reactions.

OMG yes I am talking about a TV show. Get over yourselves.

I have finally had the lightbulb go off in my head about why women now who loved Sex in the City don’t like And Just Like That.

People expected the new series to be just like the old series, only that’s not possible because the story is not frozen in time, it’s fluid and people age. The actresses have aged, we the viewers have aged. And while the series still has the unrealistic to die for wardrobe/shoe/handbag/domiciles, the story line of the series has grown up. All of the women are encountering age-appropriate scenarios with partners, spouses, dates, coworkers and kids that actually happen, even if not necessarily to us or with Hollywood magic.

Life happens. And people have been talking about things that are awkward in this new series and it’s because they’re awkward when they are situations in real life as well.
Life happens and I had to laugh at the most recent episode with the Karaoke machine and Miranda’s painful attempt at “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” and then the landscape garden design guy singing “Bette Davis Eyes” – talk about a couple of songs that right out of my soundtrack of the 80s in my head…. and included in songs I played over and over.

The new series is covering middle age etc. None of us are 20 somethings anymore even if you are devoted to injectables and procedures and guess what? It’s ok. I actually prefer the current age in spite of irritating things like occasional joint pain. We are free to be ourselves without incrimination except occasionally from ourselves.

So three seasons in I still like the series. How long will it last? Who knows, but I’m enjoying it while it’s here….and the fashion and apartments etc that go with it.

But most of all I am laughing at the women who devote time every week to talking about the series like it is life and death. If you don’t enjoy it, don’t watch it. They are kind of like the people who announce they are leaving a Facebook group and never do.

And then can we talk again about social media and the people who freak out on your personal page if you are not to their expectations of what you should be posting about? Meanwhile people (women) are posting anonymously about who does the best vasectomy and that is normal? Alrighty.

Life is a meandering thing, for sure. What I am also discovering is how many people in the US seem completely down in the dumps 24/7/365. The solution in part? Watch less news. Either you voted for him or you didn’t and either way, there he sits ravaging democracy until elected officials wake up.

I have had some friends get snappish with me for sure because I don’t want to discuss this ad infinitum. Surprise! I can’t change it, I can only go on living and hope good will out int he end. But hey, you do you, and I will do me.

Speaking of me, the other amusing thing is I am 61. So I am at a stage in my life where I have worked my whole life and can slow down some. It doesn’t mean I am a worthless bobblehead. It’s a personal choice I have earned the right to make.

And that extends to interest or lack thereof in local issues. My job is not to cover all of your local issues. I am interested in what I am interested in, which is definitely not everything everyone else in interested in a lot of the time. People need to find their voices in their communities, except for maybe Willistown because it has gotten so crazy there again people are starting to wonder when the crews with the special white suits are going to show up and start carting people away.

So is this enough of a meander for you people on a July afternoon?

Happy Friday!

more doing the open space thing in east whiteland?

Soooo….last year I had posted about this odd triangle parcel off Old Swedesford/Swedesford Road in East Whiteland. It looks like it was sold at some point in 2024 and I got a note today from someone that says:

Keeping you updated. Looks the property sold in October. We just noticed some people out there holding what looks like site plans. We really hope they aren’t planning on putting some commercial property in there in such a small residential community.

Coincidentally, it seemed to have shown up on an East Whiteland agenda for this week. Last evening‘s meeting as a matter of fact. 3a.

If anyone has any answers as to what is happening with this property, people are all ears. What seems to be happening on the video snippet that I am about to share, is a potential acquisition by East Whiteland Township to keep it as open space, which would be great because there are residential neighborhoods back there. So I don’t know if that would mean passive open space leaving it wooded or creating a more park like setting in part of it maybe throwing in a small playground? If what said on the video is true I would say that some township residents over there have possibly dodged a bullet, right?

Before properties were sold last October is above – and note technically there are two parcels. I only had the bigger parcel information from before it was sold in 2024.

Below are both parcels, large and small. I have also included a little screenshot of the bare bones schematic of ChescoPin, so people can visualize the area better.

Where the new property owners potentially selling to East Whiteland have correspondence sent is 120 Pennsylvania Ave Malvern PA 19355. Now that address is in the Borough of Malvern that’s tucked out of the way. But it’s whose address that is that I found potentially interesting and will anyone else?

That area is back on the other side of the train tracks from what you know is King Street or the main drag of Malvern Borough. It’s back off Bridge Street and that Old Lancaster Road area. Of course that address comes up on Malvern Borough’s website.

Life is so interestingly connected, isn’t it?

Anyway, good on East Whiteland if they’re stopping development there by a land purchase. If this is what has happened this of course means the open space referendum is working some more, doesn’t it? I guess now the East Whiteland Open Space Committee or someone review things?

how to throw an old school garden party fundraiser/friendraiser

When Bryn Clovis is the setting any party immediately gets a leg up, but add the magic of a Surrey Services for Seniors fundraiser/friendraiser and the result was magical!

Surrey Services threw their annual garden party recently and the back drop was Willistown’s Bryn Clovis and a Scottish Highlands theme…complete with bagpipers!

It was a crazy summer night and the thunderstorms held off long enough to enjoy the party. It was humid and warm but there were a few breezes and really good fans in the event tent. There were tables and other seating areas dotting the landscape, so one could enjoy the splendor of the surroundings and the planted fields in the distance.

Inside John Serock catering and the volunteers of Surrey Services created magic and no detail was overlooked. Truly, this was a wonderful event with guests who were simply enjoying a garden party in Willistown. The event was the way events used to be, devoid of social climbing, camera aping wannabe “influencers” and other assorted human detractors.

If you have the opportunity to support Surrey Services by attending one of their events, you really should. It’s a ticket worth having! They had a lovely buffet, a silent auction, and even a scotch tasting in keeping with the Scottish theme. And they also had a friendly floral competition between local floral designers.

I love supporting Surrey Services and I was also a photographer volunteer for them at this event because that is fun for me to do for them. Event photographers are expensive, so I was happy to do this.

As always, I am NOT a compensated blogger.

it’s a mystery in easttown along lancaster avenue.

This old house sitting right at the edge of Lancaster Avenue in Berwyn in Easttown Township, on the border of Tredyffrin I believe across the road, has never looked good in my memory. But before this, the property was at least somewhat tidy.

But the property changed hands and then the chatter was maybe Mercedes of Devon was going to do something with it? But obviously that never happened.

For months, it had cars, I think even a camper van, and a boat at one point sitting there. Obviously somebody was renting it or something at that point in time.

Well now it’s just sitting there and the weeds are getting bigger. There are weeds growing up through what’s left of the driveway and it’s just sitting there. There are viable things on either side of this property so I imagine it’s starting to get difficult being able to see to get out because of the weeds and that’s a very busy stretch of Lancaster Avenue anyway.

The address is 1038 Lancaster Avenue.

Anyway, it has an absentee landlord and/or property owner it seems? it would be nice if they could keep the weeds and stuff cut while they decide whatever it is they are doing with that property.

I think there is also some debate as to whether that is a dilapidated historic structure underneath all the bad asphalt or asbestos siding whatever it is.

When you look the address up on Google and you pull up photos of this house over the years, it’s been failing for many many years. Is it salvageable? I don’t know. Could it have a viable use? Again I don’t know. All I do know is while the property owner from Saratoga Springs, NY or whatever decides what they’re doing, it would be nice if they took care of it .

Much like the property that was supposed to be developed further east I guess it is where Handels originally was, these people that own these properties need to keep them somewhat tidy while they are deciding what they are doing. I totally get that.

This is a very weird economic time and must be really weird for commercial property owners or people who want to build anything, but there is no harm in properties staying tidy is there?

The screenshots are from former real estate listings. There is nothing current that I could see. And although I do believe somebody lived there on the property at one time I think it was also some kind of a store at one time.

Stay cool thanks for stopping by.

one year

A year ago today I got a phone call that no one wants to get and I almost flooded my kitchen because of it. The phone call was that one of my oldest friends in the world had passed away.

It was nothing nefarious, it was simply her time. I just always thought we would have more time but then when you’ve known someone since you were about 12 years old, you always think that.

Today it has been a year since you left us, my dear. Maybe it was your time, but a year later I still say that there is not enough time ever for a lifelong friendship is there?

It’s hot as hell out today and you were one of my first thoughts this morning because we always used to talk about crazy weather and say oh my God, what kind of little old ladies will we be? Well my dear missed friend, I will be the old lady some day who will still miss you even then.

Heaven is your stage now.

what didn’t happen should be celebrated by west chester…and beyond.

Screenshot

We have seen this scene of the opening screenshot so many times now. It’s captured in time. It’s a tragedy that didn’t happen, but could have.

The law enforcement, a lot of whom were local, did an amazing job. There are people who went to the protest who have sort of fluffed this off as not being a big deal, and they need to get their head out of their asses because it could’ve been a very big deal. It could have been horrible beyond imagination here in our corner of the world.

And while I have seen article after article and TV story after TV story, talking about the perpetrator and what he was carrying, and then last evening they conducted a search of his house and found more things, but I haven’t had to read about, and I think there should be some public officials standing up and really praising those who keep us safe in our communities.

Law enforcement was simply amazing here. It might be their jobs, but they are heroes.

So you have from the date of the protest which was Saturday, June 14th, West Chester Borough Police Department, Chester County Sheriffs office, FBI. Then yesterday add East Whiteland Police Department, the county and a bomb squad, which would be the one from Montgomery County that Chester County has access to – they serve Montgomery , Chester and I think Bucks Counties. I think they are then part of a larger task force, so after things were discovered where the man originally arrested from Saturday lives, who knows who all else was there, which had to include ATF at this point and Chester County Detectives and more.

My point is all of this law enforcement did this smoothly and by the book, avoided serious catastrophe, death, injuries, mass panic and where please are the elected officials? One would have thought a presser would have at least occurred by yesterday given maybe by Mayor Lillian DeBaptiste of West Chester Borough and perhaps the Chester County Commissioners, since this happened literally in the county seat with say a backdrop of the Old County Courthouse or in front of the Chester County Justice Center thanking these brave law enforcement folks for living their training so excellently, right? But where is it?

Where is the Governor of Pennsylvania or State Senators and State Representatives serving the area, including East Whiteland where the defendant lives praising law enforcement for doing something so amazing and preventing catastrophe that you quite frankly don’t see enough do you?

Law enforcement on any level doesn’t do their job for glory, it’s what they are trained to do. But people need to say thank you, and what their actions has averted and by “people”, I mean elected officials. On the TV interviews every day residents and people are all saying thank you, but where are those folks elected to public office and I do not mean local supervisors and borough officials because they do say thank you. I mean the state, county, and higher.

I am saying thank you but I am just a blogger. So time to step it up officials, as our men and women in our corner of the world have done something amazing.

Now onto other things. The accused as far as I can tell is still out on bail and one of the TV reports said his whereabouts are unknown, which after all that has happened is not comforting. I was told he made bail because bond was posted. It was high bail ($250,000), it was made. We don’t have to be comfortable with this, but that is the system, and maybe for certain kinds of arrests, the system needs to change? I don’t have those answers.

Then people are talking about why his house wasn’t searched completely after Saturday? Again, from what we can tell from media reports, law enforcement at first only had a warrant to search his personal space with the home, his bedroom I guess? It is not solely his home, and public records show the home is owned by family member, probably parents? And from the 6ABC report Leland Pinder did last evening where the accused’s brother was interviewed, it is in fact a family home so they would have had to have obtained a second warrant to search the whole house as far as my research would indicate.

Then as to the gotcha armchair warriors on social media talking about the accused’s 2nd Amendment rights, the answer is pretty clear: no concealed carry permit. Take a gun safety glass, it’s one of the things people are taught. This will undoubtedly raise a back and forth on guns in this area again, but the thing is this: there needs to be better mental health requirements surrounding gun ownership. And for things like this when people are out on bail, would it be the worst thing to have the people accused of things like this to be on ankle monitors?

For sure, this sequence of events has indeed shaken Chester County and various municipalities up. But let’s take a moment to THANK law enforcement for what they have done with no loss of life, etc. It’s remarkable in today’s world.

Thanks for stopping by.

cherry picking in chester county

Screenshots from a public post on Facebook. Quarry Road in Chester County – Downingtown.

This is our world today? ICE is following landscaper trucks around now?

I wonder was there an underlying traffic reason for stop?

So what happens if these are people who have legitimate green cards/work permits etc? How long before they stop being terrified and are released? If they can prove legitimacy to be here, how soon before they are believed?

When the development dwellers complain to HOA about their grass? Look no further….

No, I did not these photos. These are publicly posted screenshots.
