On Mother’s Day, the Stepford Wives for Totalitarianism want you to go to the home of their Chief Cook and Bottle-basher of their Chester County “chapter” and well…be indoctrinated. I always find that ironic and somewhat amusing that they are fighting against indoctrination, yet they are just one big cult out of Florida with “chapters”.
Their guest speaker is a math teacher from Ohio on leave from his job so he can be a full time conspiracy theorist.
These are the people that those people are bringing into our communities. They don’t live here, they don’t vote here, they don’t work here, they don’t pay taxes here. Yet they are meddling with where we call home. I have a problem with that. They aren’t offering reasonable people for us to listen to or even candidates that makes sense. They are part of the study of extremism in politics.
Extremism and politics is ruining our area, our state, our very country. And we are allowing it to happen. This is where both political parties, Republicans and Democrats , in our area should actually come together and deal with this. But they won’t because they would rather stand each on their own little hill and point at the other and say it’s “their fault.”
The Chester County Democrats want to live by Kumbaya and you can’t. You actually have to study literally The Art of War by Sun Tzu. The book literally teaches you that you can’t understand your enemy, unless you can understand how they think. And Chester County Republicans and Democrats alike, haven’t a clue. It’s a push me / pull you of politics.
The greatest charlatan of all times was our last US President. Trump said decades before he could essentially run and win in either party. So truthfully as the charlatan and malignant narcissist he is he could have picked either party and won. Decimating the GOP was a cake walk for him because it had already been weakened by the infiltration of the tea party originally. Not that the Democrat party is necessarily much better because at this point. Everyone and everything is ruled by extremism and extremists.
Chester County Democrats and Chester County Republicans BOTH need to get their heads out of their collective asses, along with the state party leaders. And the State Republicans in particular are to blame for a lot of these crazy candidates like the one running STILL for Congress in the 6th. Bet he will be at this on Sunday.
The Amish shun. Some Mennonites too. Also known as Meidung, this refers to their practice of social exclusion and discipline. After all we have had to tolerate since COVID of the bleating sheeple of freedom (UNmask Chester County, Stepford Wives for Totalitarianism, parents in boys’ wrestling locker rooms in a certain Chester County public school, etc.) it’s not a bad idea.
These people think their rights are more important than anyone else’s.
They are not.
I am tired of living in a world where once they escape the echo chambers of their closed Facebook groups and tell us we HAVE to listen to THEM and THEY are the only ones who are right. They surface in school board meetings, harangue small business owners and apparently medical practices now over masking policies.
Now masks for the most part are no longer required, but there is still enough COVID around that medical practices and hospitals require them. I do not know if businesses for the most part have divorced themselves of the practice, but if they have NOT, why not just respect them? Who does it hurt?
Yes, there are people who made it a point of harassing small businesses especially in Downingtown it seems for their masking policies. Why so much in Downingtown? Or a better question is why are so many people in Downingtown obsessed with this stuff? Is there something in the drinking water?
And apparently they are STILL talking about masking and masks. I know that there is one business I used to love to patronize until we all learned the owner’s relative was one of those harassing small businesses in the same area over masking policies. I thought that was a horrible thing to do. I do not wish to hurt this business, but their relative’s giving other businesses the business over masks leaves me uncomfortable. So I stay away for now.
What I have learned recently is the people who thought masks were terrible are still talking about masks? Is that all that is in their lives besides book banning? How very sad.
So there is apparently still this UNmask Chester County Group. A lot of the members are also the book burning/banners too. There are snippets of videos of these folks all over the Internet taken at local school board meetings. No need to re-post.
However, the group had a birthday of founding recently and a member video was posted. Thought I would share. She describes herself as a “Model/Actress, Classy With a Hint of Kanye” elsewhere. According to her I am a horrible and terrible woman. She left me a comment once in October 2021 with her life coach hat on. But I will never be her kind of woman, I do not wear tutus to the laundromat. And that is fine. We all do not need to be carbon copies of one and other. I do find that all rather interesting: women who tell other women how to live their best lives and purportedly be independent individuals, yet you are supposed to think exactly like they do? You see, if I had be fawning and telling her she was fabulous and always right, or telling the mask protestors they were the most awesome people ever, I never would have received a comment or critique from her.
Anyway, she left a video in the unmasking group. Yes, it’s another social media echo chamber group with many, many leaks. This is probably just a snippet, but it is more than enough.
I do not understand these people. Why are they still going on about masks? If they don’t wish to see their doctors or go to a business that prefers masks, still, why not just NOT go? Why do we have to keep listening to them talk about it? These people have their freedom to choose and not everyone has to play along, do they?
Look I do not LIKE wearing masks. But if someone asks, I will still do it. It’s not impinging upon my freedom, it’s being courteous and well….cautious. And I totally understand WHY they want it in doctors offices. It’s not my place to judge.
These people love to talk about the “woke” mentality. Whom they coin “woke” they like to criticize, say that “woke” people have a superiority complex that “they” are better than everyone else. That’s some pretzel logic, especially considering these woke police are the ones who are telling the rest of us they are far superior to everyone else, right?
This is a big wide world belonging to all of us, not some of us. Why should I be forced or anyone else to adapt to their perpetual pretzel logic? The answer is we do not.
Apparently, dark days have returned to the Devon Horse Show?
With regard to The Devon Horse Show there is always SO much floating around in the past few years, and it makes you wonder because when it comes to Devon and drama, the truth is always stranger than fiction, correct? We’ve already had years of the reported “punisher” when it comes to boxes, yes? Who stays, who goes, who gets moved?
And then there was what REALLY was the truth last year with the cancelling of Devon? Was that US Equestrian or Devon?
One hears so many things, right? Like stuff about the intricacies of hiring police to do traffic control which I might add they HAVE to do, and they should say THANK YOU? I mean let’s get real: nouveau Devon has quite the emphasis on cocktails, doesn’t it?
Then there is the whole who would benefit if Devon ever failed? And the biggest Clydesdale in the room for a few years of WHO WOULD BENEFIT IF THEY HAD TO SELL THE LAND AND WOULD IT BE DEVELOPED?
Why does everything about Devon always feel like Main Line Watergate?
Somewhere in heaven the late great Michael Morrison is shaking his head, isn’t he?
It seems like under the current regime, there is always something newer and more jackassy than the last time we heard anything
I guess I should remind Devon Horse Show that the First Amendment works both ways, right? That I can have my opinions and share media resources of prior articles on THEM? That I can say something here smells like a pile of manure in August?
My photo. Devon 2007
Ok Devon Horse Show, what’s REALLY going on? For real, for real? And the free speech component? Well that made me laugh out loud because Lamb McErlane are the attorneys, as in the Bishop Tube Slapp Suit attorneys. And one of the other attorneys in particular? Well he was in the news a few years ago over some business over fees, correct? Truthfully I would love to read the complaint, anyone have it?
So we can hypothesize over Devon’s impetus but it comes down to money and it’s not just Easttown’s fees is it? Is there more? There HAS to be more, right? Because one can’t HELP but wonder if this is part of a larger campaign to shutter the horse show and sell the land?
And speaking of spammy, remember the below in 2020 when there were fake Devon pages for a while?
Oh and speaking of boxes, remember their missive to boxholders in 2020 after COVID cancelled the show. It was like pay up buckaroos and I found it in rather poor taste at the time :
In 2015 remember when their website got hacked? Here:
And then of course, remember when they cancelled the show last year but held the carriage pleasure drive? THAT went over like a fart in church with a lot of people.
That Chairman is quite the Dandy. His outfits are very Gilded Age Robber Baron at times, yes? Very To The Manor Born Super WASP, right? But is that the real deal or just a projected persona?
Oh and back to the 2020 cancellation. Back then they didn’t seem to know their own history?
13 times over it’s history Devon has been canceled: As in….it was not held 13 different years. Devon Horse Show chronological history 1896 – 1900: Show held either at the Polo Grounds or the lawn of the Devon Inn 1901 – 1909: No show held. 1910 – 1917: Show held at the Polo Grounds. 1918: No show held; War Relief Show was held in June and benefited Emergency Aid 1919 – 1942: Show held at Polo Grounds. Grounds purchased in 1920. 1943 – 1945: No show held. Dog show and Country Fair held 1943 and 1944. 1946 – 2019: Show held.
Another Devon thing I do not understand is why they didn’t mention on their Facebook Page or website when one of their big volunteers and board members died? I did not know her personally, but I am shaking my head at the fact that they haven’t said a peep that I can find, and she passed away in March of this year. I think it displays yet more rather bad form, actually.
My point of recounting the recent history of Devon Horse Show is something needs to change. It’s all so unsavory. They need new leadership and someone to clean house. Now I divorced myself from Devon a few years ago when I could no longer abide nouveau Devon, as in the people who were prancing around there, much like Radnor Hunt, who did not know one end of a horse from the other and lots of them deserved little pebbles in their ridiculous heels at a horse show to match the pretension.
My photo. Also maybe 2012.
Devon of my childhood was so different. I am sure there was drama because non-profit events always have drama….but the difference is back then it was not so glaringly apparent and the Devon Fudge tasted good. And there were fun antiques dealers and Bryn Mawr Hospital Thrift Shop had a little “store” in that weird little cottage thing. And the horses! The thrill of the Clydesdales and the carriages.
Devon was so special in so many good ways. But Devon now? It’s the school for scandal.
Blech.
I am with Easttown Township on this unsavory and embarrassing business.
I don’t know if any of you are watching the HBO/MAX series on the life of Julia Child called “Julia”. I have always been a fan of the French Chef, and I love to cook and I have a bunch of her cookbooks so I really enjoy the show, which began before I was even born. I also enjoy the show and the way that it has blended the era in which she started in TV with the world around them.
In one of the episodes Julia Child has an encounter with Betty Friedan. My research indicates this encounter never actually happened. But another article I read said that the show was perhaps exploring Julia’s brand of feminism versus Betty’s. And that made me think of how do we define feminists and feminism today? The show makes valid points, it also makes you ponder sometimes why as women we are our own sex’s worst enemies.
When I look back on life, you naturally start when we were growing up. Especially if you grew up in an area like the Main Line, which isn’t necessarily the real world. Graduating high school in 1981 meant sure we were being groomed to have the big female careers, but conversely we were also still being groomed to be lovely hostesses in our husbands’ homes. And no one told us or showed which choice was the right choice for us as individuals.
My career was not some giant six-figure career with fancy cars and penthouse apartments. I think that was harder on my mother for a lot of years as opposed to me. Just like it was hard on her when I was single, and sometimes she made me feel like that was a huge flaw in me as a human being. I liked what I did. Never wanted to just be with a partner or date, or even marry just so I could say I did that. I wanted it to be right.
But what I discovered when I got what should have been a career dream job is I didn’t really like it as much as the other things I had done all the other years. But it was an accomplishment. I will note that I was definitely deserving of a six-figure salary for a lot of those years, and I honestly never attained it. However, you know what? That was fine. I wasn’t a millionaire but I had enough money to take care of myself most of the time, and sometimes it was tight and I managed. And the truth of the matter is, employers are cheap. The key to their particular brand of success is not making you wealthy, but making them wealthy. Just another version of plantation mentality.
I have also always been opinionated. Sometimes that’s welcome in a corporate setting, sometimes not. as I entered into my 30s I began to realize there were other things out there. There wasn’t just being on socially correct junior committees and going to the right parties and being seen with the right people. There were the things in life that you took a look at and made you realize that all the people you were on committees with would always need you more than you needed them.
Gradually I became active in my community. I became kind of a community/grassroots activist of sorts. But sometimes who I was clashed with some of the people I was a community activist with, as well as people I grew up with . And sometimes these two sides of me clashed within myself. It took me until I was well into my 40s to understand that I could be both of those people.
And then there is the whole me as I have gotten older. I married later than a lot of people, and when I was marrying for the first time a lot of people I know were not only divorcing but onto subsequent spouses. Sometimes in that part of my world I felt judged. And I don’t really know why I think it’s just because I kind of did me all of these years. Not always easily because as we grow we learn more about ourselves. Especially as women.
Sometimes now, I feel myself judged by an entirely different generation of women. I am a stepparent and I never had my own children, somehow that goes against you and I don’t quite know how. It would’ve been nice if I had been able to bear my own children, but medically that was never possible for me, and it just never would’ve presented itself as an opportunity in the more traditional “childbearing years.”
And there’s the whole idea of feminism and having it all. But at on the eve of 58 I still wonder if you can have it all? Or is what makes you happy in fact actually having it all? I think it’s that. I think having it all, is being content with your life. And maybe that runs counter to feminism. Maybe I personally run counter to feminism because I like to do things like garden and cook and keep my house. I don’t think for years you were supposed to admit that out loud.
I look around me and we all spend a lot of our time as women in general, telling everyone else what they should do with their lives. And now once again we are coming full circle to wondering if a bunch of folks in judicial robes are going to be telling women what they should do, and more importantly what they should do with their bodies?
Oh yes, readers, I am going there. No matter what my personal choices are vis-à-vis my own body, I have never believed it was my place to tell another woman what she should do with hers. And I have always resented it when those in clerical robes and judicial robes have tried to tell us what it meant to be a woman. And I resent most of all the politicians who take this issue on on both sides and pander.
Feminism in the 60s and 70s gave women the power to be whom they felt they should be. We have in a sense, enjoyed that since then. But we’ve all gotten lackadaisical and somewhat complacent. And that’s men and women, and look where it’s gotten us in this country? Politically, we are a cesspool.
I also get tired of those who go around proselytizing in political campaigns and even within our own communities telling us what our families are supposed to look like, and what our family values according to them are supposed to be. They also want to tell us what our sexual preferences and gender identity are supposed to be, and there’s no room for anything else because it makes all of those people uncomfortable.
All of this behavior has extended itself into our schools, our libraries, our daily lives. The ultimate echo chamber is social media and certain social media groups. And what they don’t understand is they are free to have their opinions but rights are not subjective and they don’t get to foist their opinions on us and tell us that is what we are supposed to do.
All of these people want to tell you that their First Amendment rights are of more value than ours. They also want to tell you how the life during the last political administration and president was so wonderful, and today is a mess. I am wondering if they will ever be able to pull their heads out of their collective asses and realize everything they are bemoaning as a mess today is a result of what we went through with the last administration? Do I think that the current administration is doing a particularly fabulous job? To be honest no not all of the time, but then you look at realistically what they were left to deal with. Also politics has gotten ridiculously reactive and over-reactive. Being a moderate is like a four letter word.
Then you look at what we are dealing with today. You have the people who are saying that they are so against socialism and totalitarianism and they are true conservatives yet they don’t know the basics of the United States Constitution, our history as a country, and what it is to be a true conservative. Truthfully, a lot of those people don’t even realize that they are closer to socialism, communism, and totalitarianism than anyone. Sometimes I wonder if what the U.S. is experiencing today is actually closer to what Great Britain saw in post WWII England? That was some truly ugly stuff for a while. And it seems to be here today.
What we are living today is what it’s like trying to exist in a country full of political extremism. And as women in this country, I think we are feeling that acutely. And I think as women we are looking at a horrible future for future generations of American women, if we all don’t speak up.
And we as women all need to stop thinking that there’s always something wrong with who we are because of how other people see us. I realized that again this weekend when a lot of high school reunions took place. Ladies, we are who we are, and just because the “it girls“ from back in the day still think they are “it girls” it doesn’t mean they are ….it just means perhaps they are stuck in a time warp. Interestingly enough, most of them still do not know how to behave, which is something I find very amusing personally.
When it comes to women there will always be strivers. There are strivers in the personal sense of those who have amazing career goals and attain them. Then there are the strivers who are perhaps not as appealing. Like social strivers.
The social strivers are often the women who are trying to run as fast as possible from what they’re from. Instead of embracing what they’re from, they only wish to project essentially a fake persona and are often label conscious, trendy Wendy types.
Where women always will fall short in this world is not embracing that part of who you are based on what you’re from. And maybe what you’re from isn’t what you feel is socially acceptable, but it’s stupid to try to deny it because everybody knows it anyway.
There’s nothing wrong with a woman who doesn’t color her hair, doesn’t have plastic surgery, and doesn’t get Botox and other fillers every few weeks from not even their dermatologist half of the time, but a spa or salon somewhere.
Women as a species will always be competitive on some level with other women. It’s human nature. But the thing is it’s how you use that competitive nature, and ironically some of the most hyper competitive women I’ve ever met in my entire life I’ve also been among the most insecure.
I’m not saying we’re supposed to all stop shaving our legs and armpits and we’re supposed to sing Kumbaya around the campfire, what I’m saying is maybe as part of the brand of the new feminism we need to actually be real.
So what is the new feminism? I’m still not really sure. But I do think part of it is being able to speak our peace. And I think part of being real is actually acknowledging you don’t want to lift up every woman. Because sometimes there are just some women who piss you off, or irritate you, or you question their inherent value as human beings and just do not like. And that’s OK as a woman to actually say that out loud. You can be your authentic self without worrying about having to be perfect every five minutes.
Obviously I don’t have the answers, and these are just some of my rambling thoughts. I’m sure not everyone will like what I have written today, but these are things I’m thinking about.
Saint Theresa is Theresa Hogan Santalucia is a Supervisor of West Whiteland. She’s a Democrat, and a bad one at that. She is what they call in the trade, a DemoCRAP.
And before we go any further, she is a POLITICIAN and I can utilize my First Amendment Rights to criticize her as a politician.
She has left herself wide open to criticism because of HER OWN ACTIONS. She’s been covered before, and I love how she contacts people at night. See this post. Maybe she’s a vampire? Also see this other post.
She goes on social media rants occasionally, and she doesn’t get the difference between public posts on Facebook (little globe) and private posts, but given how she wigs out, people take screen shots. Then she goes all pitiful pearl on people. See next screen shot as an example:
She is literally a bully as a local politician to people’s faces and at public meetings, yet ALL criticism of her is she is being bullied? The plurality, the public can criticize, berate, or compliment her. And let’s talk about HER behavior. The latest? GARBAGE GATE.
This presentation was done by new Supervisor Brian Dunn. It is a common sense approach to why in the Sam hell does West Whiteland think the residents still want cheap plastic trash bags that aren’t readily available, are cheap quality that break, and places like Wawa and other store JACK the prices to gouge residents? And have you ever driven on West Whiteland Roads and wondered why there is littler in lots of places? These bags. But oh no, Theresa can’t listen she has to make a scene at the meetings and then COMMENT into the night on Brian Dunn’s supervisor Facebook page? And Mr. Solicitor Darling, she is a PUBLIC official commenting, a politician. Just like she was when she tried to stop you from becoming solicitor in West Whiteland and basically called Brian Dunn a crook, so what gives? We know you don’t want to babysit a post menopausal child, but hey someone has to, right?
#GarbageGate also begs the question of does this woman, an elected official, actually READ her Supervisor packets before meetings? Because she is remarkably ill prepared every single meeting isn’t she? And what is her relationship to staff like for example that codes person who wears biker chick makeup and likes to fluff her hair on Zoom? And does Saint Theresa demand staff do her bidding? If various Rights to Know were submitted to their knows everything Right to Know person regarding Theresa’s correspondence, text messages, etc, to others, what ALL would turn up? I mean that whole write me a check now Bethy of it all that came out sure was interesting?
Here are various screen shots including one where she calls a resident a liar even if she can’t spell it:
So she went to the Supervisors State conference. She talked about it:
I thought for that thing you could sign up ahead of time? Doesn’t seem like she planned very well did it? Or was she too busy having a mini-break on West Whiteland Township and her residents? Hey she posted the badges indicating it was play time, so the door is wide open to ask and doesn’t it seem like she was there for HER and not West Whiteland? And her badge says “veteran” so how come she doesn’t seem to know so much? And oh apparently she did not like her accommodations.
Saint Theresa should not be in public office. #RESIGNTheresa
The Malvern Institute along King Road is submitting expansion plans again. It is on the East Goshen website. This affects East Whiteland residents AND Willistown residents, along with East Goshen residents. In recent years there have been issues with the facility in eyes of neighbors, it’s no big secret they are neither an easy institutional institutional neighbor to have or in my opinion do they really care about the residential neighborhoods that surround them.
If you want your voice heard on this, attend the planning meeting this evening May 4 at 7 PM and other meetings on the topic..
The “ladies” have posted a help wanted sign. I thought it would be nice to share so everyone had this opportunity. After all I don’t know about you but are you comfortable with ballots being scanned by people that think January 6, 2021 was OK? Are you comfortable with people with their perspectives scanning your vote properly?
Anyway in case any of you are interested here’s the information in the screenshot above. And more accurately below.
I just like the Flamingos at the Philadelphia Zoo. They have nothing in fact to do with this post, they just make it prettier.
This post is about the love notes I receive to this website. Made up email addresses with identifiable I.P. addresses which I can indeed publish because these trolls seek me out. If you visit a website, even social media, you are logged. By I.P. address. Sometimes you are even easy to be found by a fake e-mail address. These trolls always have tells that give them away, don’t they?

Get off your high horse.. And fix your barn. it looks like crap from the road. You can always tell a jealous writer when they attack truth. Keep eating your donuts! Oink oink

Crappy stuff. Wake up.. There is a war going on around you. But keep buying, and keep eating your donuts… keep your head in the sand like a good little brainless monkey!!!. oink oink…

Both comments are in fact from Downingtown. Both say “keep eating your donuts and oink, oink”. Commenting on a post I wrote about the spring preview at Life’s Patina and saying it was crappy stuff made me wonder exactly who it was, because that is a tell.
At the end of the day, these are the kind of people local police departments already have on their radar. These comments in particular are definitely from an unhappy man.
As a woman, every time you speak your truth to your power, you are a target. We are supposed to be bobbleheads and nod and say soothing things. I am not a bobblehead. So I become a pig, a bitch, hysterical female, essentially whatever pops into their heads to denigrate me that particular day. My “fans” are men and women. Both always give themselves away in their desire to be anonymous.
Today, I am calling a Neanderthal a troglodyte in this case.
Ronnie the Rep, Ronnie the Realtor, whatever he wants to call himself has been OFFICIALLY censured. By the Chester County Republican Party as of end of last week.
Yet he still appears to be running as a Republican? So now he is a fake Republican? Or what? And look who loves him? Jerry from the Great Valley School Board meetings? HA! (Figures!)
And to those who think Daily Local Reporter Michael Rellehan is basing articles on what I wrote? Better read again. He did not. I don’t secretly run townships or newspapers, and wow don’t some of you have anything better to do? He is a journalist who has been a journalist for years. Trust me, he doesn’t create articles off of what bloggers write, let alone ME. Be glad there are still local journalists writing. I am.

However, the Republican Party in Chester County needs to deal with it’s dysfunction. Starting over with new people in West Chester would be a start. It is populated with types who do things there because they seek an office elsewhere, correct? Like you know certain employees who have an eye on a judicial seat after they couldn’t get another office? (Hey don’t shoot the messenger, people talk.)
Even PoliticsPA is talking.
So I have said it before and I am saying it again: The Chester County Republican Party needs to own their part in candidates like this. We saw it LAST year with the school board races. They have very few actual quality candidates, so it’s anyone with a pulse running it seems. (Truthfully, sometimes not much better on the Democrat side where I ask for the primary, does State Rep. Kristine Howard have a pulse?)
People are attracted to candidates like Ron Vogel for all sorts of reasons. A lot of it is people don’t do their own research and seem to act like they have a mental capacity of a gnat. Others, and this has been happening for years in Chester County, feel disenfranchised by their county party so they pick less than stellar candidates to get behind as a way of almost making a dumb ass statement.
At least Chester County Republicans took this step, but Ron isn’t done with them, after all look who he emulates?
I would say at least this ugly chapter of Chester County politics is closed, but reality is “but wait, there’s more.” (We just haven’t seen it all unfold yet.)
