Igourmet was sold recently and it’s obviously NOT the same company.
As a foodie, and someone who likes to entertain sometimes, I was delighted when I discovered this company years ago. I could get cheeses I literally could not get anywhere else even from DiBruno Brothers.
For years until today, I had used them happily, without incident.
But apparently they were sold at some point this year and it’s a hot mess.
Spencer Chesman, the founder and CEO of igourmet, became the president of Innovative Gourmet, a subsidiary of IVFH (Innovative Food Holdings) around 2018 when IVFH acquired iGourmet. Spencer’s mother, Marsha, founded International Gourmet in the 1960s as a catalog-based retailer of imported cheeses. Spencer launched igourmet.com in 1997, and his sister Tracy Chesman joined him in the business. However who knows how long the actual Chesman family lasted after their 2018 acquisition, right? If you pay attention to businesses , you know how these deals go – usually the company selling out to another company will keep some key employees in place for about a year and then once they think there is a transition that’s complete the company that acquired the original company will often just axe people.
Innovative Food Holdings (IVFH) sold the igourmet.com business this year. Apparently the deal closed around September 2, just my luck. It was purchased by an undisclosed buyer who should continue to hide my current experience was so bad. I doubt I am the only one.
I’m seriously so angry I could scream. I want to know why I spent all that time on the phone with a customer service representative, who assured me that my order would be shipped on the CORRECT date because your new updated website has many bugs in it that I am receiving half of my order today weeks ahead of time?
The backstory is I had been forced to call customer service and not just place my order because their website has so many screw ups. You couldn’t see descriptions of cheeses on the website yet if you put the name of the cheese into Google their description on the website showed up. Also you have the option of delivering immediately or buying now and delivering at a future date within a few weeks. Only when I chose my date in October, it processed as immediately. So I had to call. Oh yes they told me, it was corrected and will be fine.
Fine my arse.
They can’t guarantee that the items I received this morning are going to be fresh by the time October 8th rolls around and the other thing is they didn’t even keep items cold reaching me. Everything was VERY warm including what were supposed to be ice packs.
Does today, September 22, LOOK like October 7th ship for October 8th delivery date?
They owe me replacements on the correct shipping date. And immediate refunds if items are out of stock. They charge a fortune now for shipping and they can’t even get things here cold or even chill to the touch.
Seriously they DID NOT even get things here OVERNIGHT or the cold packs would still have some substance to them and actually be cold or chilly. Extreme perishables arrived WARM. That skeeves me out.
What a mess. And the joke Is on me for spending money with the company. It’s not the same company obviously.
Until now, I had been a happy customer for years. I referred them to countless people.
Caveat emptor and if anyone knows exactly purchased iGourmet, I am all ears. This was a $300+ order and it’s a FAIL.
Don’t bother to tell me to cover the number it’s a FAKE number calling people.
So is this a JD Vance directive I wonder? Or just more campaign stupidity? No wait scratch that because JD Vance wants everyone pregnant,barefoot, in the kitchen having babies and married because everything else is wrong. Vance takes the idea of spawn tax to a whole new level.
Spawn Tax was my concept of life when I was a cog in the wheel of corporate America. If you were single or did not have kids you always got short shrift when it came to vacation days and holidays…even family funerals. Gosh a precursor to the faux hillbilly, huh?
Neil Young was or is a history teacher from Great Valley Middle School that many kids liked. Some didn’t which is why he ended up as a teacher of TikTok.
It bothers me when you see recent Great Valley graduates and even seniors who are 18 liking his social media posts and thinking he’s the cool teacher running for something. They don’t grasp the rabbit hole that he has fallen into.
That robo-text is part of it. That text is equal parts stupid and offensive. Just like his pandering to extremism groups who dress up in gas masks at school board meetings and now wearing absurd Wonder Woman outfits like they are champions of other than their own echo chambers and bubbles of pseudo reality and even pseudo feminism since they are really ready for The Handmaid’s Tale.
This former teacher turned politician had the opportunity to be a good candidate because he is supposed to be a student of history as a teacher. But somewhere this guy lost his way. He thinks wild conspiracy theorists are the way to go. People he admires also includes Scott what’s his name who is busy pushing false information on voting and elections in Luzerne County including fear mongering over “illegal aliens” and whether they are secretly voting.
Ok this is like JD Vance and the eating of cats and dogs and hating Haitians in Ohio.
So this is what this baby faced teacher turn politician believes? Has he been through his district? Does he realize how many immigrants live in his district? From his studies as a history teacher does he realize that this very country is founded and built on the legacy of former immigrants? How in the Sam hell does he think we all got here anyway unless were Native American or some other indigenous peoples native to what comprises the United States? Where does Neil Young think all of our founding fathers came from?
He tries to say he’s all for women’s issues. Does he understand how many women have issues with Trumpublican politics including Republican women afraid to speak up? Again, as a former history teacher he’s supposed to be what? A student of history? Did he forget about the whole thing in US history about women’s rights?

Neil Young has a daughter and he’s ok with the above? He wants her to have The Handmaid’s Tale life? Well all I can say is how sad.
But meanwhile if you are a single looking to mingle, his text messages are what bad Lifetime movies are made of. 🤣
Voting for Neil won’t save anything. Not even him. His most teachable moment? He doesn’t get it, which is pretty sad for a history teacher.
Perhaps it’s time for Neil to head back to school?
I just don’t pretend to understand what’s going on. Just when you think it can’t get any more twisted and insane over at the Historic Hood Mansion in Limerick, it just does.
A little while ago I wrote about how Hood Mansion was facing destruction from warehouses, End it seems that according to Limerick’s zoning officer, Greta Martin Washington, data centers are a form of warehouse, so was this the plan all along?
So why the switcheroo of what was previously being built versus now? I mean OK if the zoning says a data center is a kind of a warehouse and then they put that in a public notice that might possibly be the letter of the law, but is it the spirit of the law and does the spirit matter at all here?
So I have to ask with everything else Hood Mansion, did it come up at Limerick supervisor meetings? And since human remains were found there, what about them? Limerick seems a little bit shrouded in mystery and cloudy days, so I’m asking the questions. It’s another Nancy Drew mystery, right? Needs sunshine?
What is also with Nancy Drew mystery with Limerick Township are their agendas and their meetings because I don’t really see them talking about this unless I’m not looking in the right place? Again did the change get discussed at a public meeting or just in the notice filed in itty bitty print that no one reads?
Always read the fine print. It’s exhausting.
Yes, warehouses were bad enough right? It’s a historic site and it may quite probably have been on the underground railroad, and they recently found human remains right? So now it’s not mega warehouses, it’s mega data center time?

Was this discussed in a meeting in Limerick as well? I know I’m becoming repetitive, but I’m just so curious as to how this all came about, or if this was the plan all along?
And people would ask why data centers? Will data centers get along very nicely apparently with nuclear power plants, correct? And isn’t Limerick literally like down the road across the road across the street or something?

It’s a pretty big article and it’s fairly interesting. I would suggest people read it because it’s a road map isn’t it? Aso basically, it’s like these people want to do this in Limerick right? They knock down the Hood Mansion they don’t care about the human remains or the history and they build a data center and they’re across the street from Limerick or whatever, right?
And don’t forget data centers also go hand-in-hand with those lovely hydrogen plants don’t they? We learned that in West Whiteland didn’t we? MACH 2 Hydrogen Hub anyone?

I will close by suggesting everyone read what’s below from this August- It’s a big long article I’ve taken a big old excerpt, but go to the source and read the whole thing. I think this is the game plan. Of course, I have no proof and I also have no inside information. It just seems to make sense because there’s a nuclear power plant at Limerick and then there’s the Hood Mansion and they want to put a data center form there now, so has this just been hiding in plain sight all along?
Time will tell and all of the people who live in that area of Montgomery County need to wake up, not just a historic preservation types who want to save old structures like Hood.
There’s a big picture here. Lots o’ money in data centers and things data centers love and interact with right?

I saw a post fly by on social media that resulted in a flurry of crazy and often judgmental and seriously non-comprehensive of the situation comments.
Basically, a mom who is divorced from her spouse, making her a co-parent, is having issues with the new wife or partner of the husband…the stepmother.
The issues involve things like the stepmother stepping full on into the mom role, even at the children’s school(s) when the birth mom/first wife is very much local and in the picture. Stepmother is taking every volunteer spot available, and it sounds like before the actual parents can discuss a thing.
The stepmother is essentially overstepping. Medical, school stuff including conferences, and other events. The birth mom/first wife is appreciative that this stepmom loves her kids, but you could tell she’s at a loss. Birth mom /ex wife doesn’t want a problem, but she is present in her children’s lives as an active co-parent so she asked what people thought.
Some people were of the mind set “so what?” Others were offended FOR the stepmom.
Hi, me over here? I am a stepmother and it’s hard. But I have worked hard to try to remain respectful of the shall we say biological bonds and biological parental relationships. Again, it’s hard. My personality is naturally kind of want to take charge and do stuff. But as a stepparent, that quite literally is not my job. My job is a supporting role. Sometimes I succeed in the role, sometimes I fail. I am a work in progress.
I will never be a primary decision maker. And I think the stepmom in this case needs that explained, and her husband, the regular mom’s ex should make that clear. It’s great to be an enthusiastic participant, but when you are a stepparent, you aren’t the lead in the play. I don’t know how else to say it.
I have no idea who any of these people are, but maybe the 2nd wife / stepmom is being an overachiever because she is insecure? But hey now, life can be hard enough regularly without the blended family of it all.
Having a more supportive less action oriented role sounds counterintuitive. But being supportive and involved but not parenting does have it’s own rewards. And trust me, I have had my frustrations and even moments of hurt throughout the years. Life is not for sissies. But it’s important to try to mind your place in the familial organization.
This mother deserves to be heard, and the ex husband and the stepmother need to listen. A second marriage is not just add water, instant family. It’s just another act in the play of life.
Remember the kids of it all. It’s hard enough on them when adult parents split and then remarry or have other life partners.
Maybe because I was not a technology baby and when we were in 7th and 8th grade, we were learning how to type on typewriters and had to memorize the keys because there were no characters, letters, or symbols on them. No social media. No internet. The Brady Bunch. Life was more naïve, and maybe that’s why we survived?
Yes we had mean girls and plenty of bullies back then, and a few from back in my day are still just that. Of course that makes me laugh, and I love when grown up mean girls and bullies like to apply those names to me for either speaking the truth or speaking my truth (take your pick.) This is also why I encourage people to go to reunions if they can once in a while. When the abused see their former abusers still stuck in that time warp of small mindedness how many years later, it’s very freeing since so many of them are still stuck in their proverbial glory days.
So what has brough about this post? Well it started with something I saw on the Great Valley Middle School website:
Umm ok so why? Dr. Souders, right or wrong IS the TikTok principal. Wow just wow the grief over saying that. Someone said he wasn’t principal when this happened. Yes he was. It began in what? February? And that doesn’t count when those lovely kids (sarcasm) decided trying to destroy teachers was the best blood sport, ever was it?
I do my research and from what I can ascertain – which is hard because Great Valley is somewhat secretive – just try to find any reference to the TikTok of it all on their websites. Existing parents who follow meetings and such have told me interim Dr. Cohen can only be voted as interim for 40 days at a time. I was also told there was no official notice of Souders being put in academia time out until just before school started. It showed up under personnel. I personally found it buried in a July 24th agenda. They don’t seem to keep much historical anything on their website. Someone else told me this started June 17th? So that kind of started right before the media exploded with this, which means they knew, right? And also there is the irrefutable timeline of when this began, correct? This did not begin when the New York Times landed the article on July 6th. It began in February correct?
“The untimely and inadequate letters from Souders and Goffredo appealed to the parents as being “partners” with the School District in the education of their kids. Souders and Goffredo used the following phrases which sound just wonderful:They looked to the parents as “partners in your child’s education” They “sincerely appreciate your ongoing cooperation and partnership” They want to be “addressing it together” with the parents. They state “our greatest asset is for collaboration between home and school” They “have always valued your partnership and will continue to do so as we move ahead”
During the school year, Great Valley officials took steps to address the TikTok attack. Principal Edward Souders sent emails to parents in March. The school held an eighth-grade assembly on responsible technology use, and several students were briefly suspended. School officials met with the impacted teachers and removed their photos from the online directory. Accounts that were flagged on TikTok as impersonating were deleted when ID information could not be validated. Two female students posted an apology video in June through a TikTok handle that used the name of a seventh-grade teacher, according to the Times. They claimed in the video that they planned to post new videos but would make them private at the beginning of the school year, “’cause then they can’t do anything.”
So for my critics regarding Souders, even if you know zero parents in Great Valley or don’t have kids in the district but live there, FOLLOW the media reports who are pretty god damn accurate as to when Souders was where, correct?
Like it or not, deserve it or not, he’s the Great Valley TikTok principal. It happened on his watch. And yes, it would be definitely nice to hear from INTERIM principal Sharon Cohen. Sharon Cohen came to Great Valley from Manheim Township School District where she was an Assistant Principal circa 2019-2021. She became an Assistant principal in Great Valley in 2021. Prior to Manheim, she was an Assistant Principal at Collegium Charter School from half way through 2017 through early 2019. It’s on her LinkedIn.
What does Dr. Cohen have to say about this? Is Dr. Souders coming back? I have heard discussion of him from people who liked him, and those who were not overly fond of him. No matter what people may think, my questions now are as follows:
Will Souders come back or is he the scape goat for TikTok?
Or is there something else going on with Souders?
Why is the Great Valley School District being somewhat obtuse in my opinion? I am no fool, I know HR and personnel issues etc are out of the public view for the most part, but these are unusual circumstances aren’t they? So much has happened, shouldn’t the parents and taxpayers and residents of the district perhaps know a little more?
Of course my other opinion is I think maybe the teachers union has never been as supportive as they could have been? I think the union should have provided legal services for the teachers who had the fake accounts made about them. And it is a shame that so many feel that there are teachers who could actually provide more information to police but won’t, haven’t, and didn’t for myriad reasons, correct?
Look at what has happened at Great Valley to the staff list: it’s very generic now. (https://www.gvsd.org/our-district/our-staff) No photos, nothing personal. That I think is a result of the TikTok of it all. So what is the District doing? I mean besides locking up phones now? And phones aren’t the only thing that those kids can take photos with, correct? What about the school issued tablets? Apple Watches? Kids are often more tech savvy than adults so is it so hard to go around what Great Valley has set up to secure those tablets? They also refer to teachers as “constituents” which is an absurdly misused term. I have seen it misapplied with regard to alumni associations when referring to alumni.
And then there is the job, yes of the parents. So many parents are more concerned with being their kids’ friends, versus parenting. And then there are the parents doing their best to parent who do not feel the school has resources to offer them, or might not altogether. But there are the parents who find electronic babysitters easier. There are parents too tired to be concerned with what their kids are up to. So many variables, right?
But don’t you think there should have been more of action earlier on with this from the school district? To kids being disrupters, a couple of suspension days are a badge of badass honor and free vacation days.
I wonder if there will ever be resolution to this? I am sure if you ask the district lawyers, as is the case with any school district, there is a lot of legal doubletalk not answering questions, correct?
I knew before this that there were bullying issues in Great Valley School District. There are lots of bullying issues everywhere. It’s become a pathetic societal norm with lasting and pervasive after-effects.
Which brings me to the Radnor Township School District of it all. What’s up with another year of middle school thugs over there?

So is this fact or is this fiction or somewhere in between? It is no secret that a lot of these middle schoolers are punk asses whose parents use downtown Wayne as their after school babysitters, correct? Here are the comments and it would be nice if the district or Radnor PD weighed in:
Radnor Middle School has been a hot bed for misbehaving for quite a while hasn’t it? It’s another school district that doesn’t like to ‘fess up and admit they need to do better. A lot of it has to do with the misplaced entitlement of the nouveau Main Line. I actually DO know parents who pulled kids out of the district because of bullying especially in elementary and middle school. And remember 2017 when Radnor Middle School kids were arrested for attacking a kid in the King of Prussia Mall?
Charges have been filed against five Radnor boys in an assault of a Norristown boy in the King of Prussia Mall.
The boys, all under 18, face misdemeanor simple assault charges.
The incident occurred at around 8 p.m. on Friday, March 31 as the victim, of Norristown, was celebrating his birthday with his girlfriend and another friend, authorities said.
The victim told police that the suspects, seven teenage boys from Radnor, followed his group through the mall for around an hour.
In front of the Journey Kids store, the group began yelling at the victim and telling him they were going to beat him up, according to reports from the scene. Then they attacked him, knocking him to the ground and punching him repeatedly.
I don’t know what is with Middle School in today’s world. The problems are similar and nationwide, not just in Southeastern PA. Take what I found today:
I ask again: When did Middle School become such a hell hole? Is this what today’s world including planted political misinformation has caused? Probably, but hell adults aren’t accountable to other adults, you expect them to be accountable to kids?
I went on a wander with this topic. We as adults especially with kids in school have to do better. I think school districts need to do better. I remember being told by a Radnor Middle School parent once upon a time that part of the issue they felt with middle school in general also has to do with a lot of middle schoolers not having enough time during the school day to blow off steam – you know like recess I guess? Or just being allowed to be kids?
These kids are the future. It’s time to show them a way other than growth as budding sociopaths right? Unplug. Go outside. Manners. Accountability. They are supposed to be kids, but kids are not supposed to be wild animals, right?

Celebrities and politicians and public figures always and every election season come out on one side or the other. It’s nothing new…except to a malignant narcissist who always has to be the great bloviator in the room.
It’s literally like he can’t believe a woman said “no.”
As we all watch a candidate for President in the United States of America seeming sink further and further into this abyss of crazy, I don’t understand how anyone can think he’s the one? How is he even a choice?
A woman said no and this is what a normal 78 year old man does? And Republicans are ok with his slut shaming? That is exactly what he’s doing while attempting his own twisted harassing cancel culture, and again people are ok with this?
It’s crazy.
It’s like we’re waiting for the resurrection of Jim Jones and special Kool Aid. The Republican Party has been completely polluted. That became complete when his sounds like a goat caterwauling when singing daughter in law became co-chair. And his camp follower for this campaign so far seems to be another nutbag who likes plastic surgery too much named Laura Loomer, all while his wife is noticeably absent from everything.
The reality of this election for me is truly what it all means for me as a woman. This election is also all part of a much bigger picture. This election is also about the simple right to be ourselves at its most basic.
I’m not going to tell people how I think they should vote, but I am telling people why I am voting for Kamala Harris.
That nasty old man doesn’t care about any of us, and he never makes anything better. This is like a giant game show for him. I have never liked game shows.
If you really value our constitution and inalienable rights, I don’t see how anyone can consider him. If you are a student of US and world history, I don’t see how you can consider him.
The haters will come out of the closet now, I’m sure and it will leave me with one final point to ponder: why are so many afraid of the musings and opinions of independent minded women?
I am completely 1000% unapologetic about lamenting the loss of Happy Days Farm every time I go by.
It used to be part of a Penn Land Grant. Actively farmed until the end, but they were tenant farmers. I honestly don’t know what will become of the historic structures on the land, but it looks like welcome to the apocalypse there now.
When did Chester County stop being about land preservation, farm preservation, historic preservation, and the very history of the county?

Tredyffrin Township officials and quasi useless supervisors are your ears burning? First y’all are a hot topic for the better part of an hour on WCHE’s show “All Politics Are Local with Barry Dee”. I’m sure they will want to blame me, but I actually wasn’t a guest this week but it was interesting because one of the things that was layered in the topic of right to know requests and how to file them with the recent swath of development again in Tredyffrin.
People are tired of it and one of the things people are tired of includes were losing not only open space, but our heritage trees. That’s a hot topic in East Whiteland as well because there are two very old sycamores near the old “Importer Barn” or Hibbard Barn. On that property, these trees are crazy old and crazy huge. Giant diameter trunks. One at least dates to close to American Revolutionary era. Will they stay or will they go now? I think in the end they will go because it’s like developers today HATE trees. Trees mean work. I love trees. We spend enough to preserve and care for our old growth heritage trees personally. We don’t have to, we do it because it’s the right thing to do. As humans, we should be better caretakers of nature.
So anyway, sorry small tangent on trees…I love them…and not enough municipalities give a damn. So when I saw a post pop up on social media the other day it was an “a ha” moment because it corresponds to a giant right to know I was sent at some point recently and filed away until I had time to look at it. Truthfully, I had forgotten about it but then it all made sense. I still have not waded through it enough. Here was the moment of clarity:
OMFG. This is what neighbors are becoming increasingly upset about on Vincent Road. And it’s not easy to find anything other than shifting sands on Tredyffrin’s website.
In 2008 residents were upset about stormwater on Vincent and frankly, the then Township Manager was rude enough IMHO that it was reflected in the meeting minutes, which I found:
As a matter of fact there are a LOT of historical documents about stormwater for that area….but nothing about the development plan. And if I am investigating properly, the issue of this parcel has been bandied about like a badminton shuttlecock for a few years already, right? So how is it not really discussed publicly? Did I blink and miss some minutia? I went to the county to see what was filed. A stormwater plan document from 2024 (where’s the flood hazard of it all?), new deed, and a development plan that looks like it came out of a time machine:
But I still wasn’t finding much else. Now don’t forget, Tredyffrin’s current manager is Bill Martin. He was from Radnor Township via Bridgeport…he was in Radnor during the Bashore era. I wrote about it in 2012:
Anyway, Tredyffrin has always had an issue with cloudy days. 105 Vincent being a HUGE surprise to a lot of fairly local residents is but the most recent example. And oy the butchering of the trees. And the loss of open space for what? A super dated subdivision plan which you know will sprout McMansions never intended for the original ideas? So here is what residents who have just realized what was going on are saying, and I am providing a mash-up:
…So sad to see this development taking place at 252 and Central Ave. This area was home to different species of trees, wild raspberries and blackberries, hawks, deer, chipmunks, various species of songbirds not to mention that run off from the top of the hill goes down the road and floods this area. I took pictures before and after the area started being cleared. Yes I get that the township voted on it. Funny I knew nothing about it and live just a few blocks away. If you are running for office and are an advocate for keeping what little greenspace we have left preserved pls let me know so I can vote for you……The township has a new woodland conservation ordinance. I have seen this over and over. When our township notifies area homeowners of a proposal and asks for feedback, the decision has often already been made. They don’t represent us in my opinion. Their prime interest is the tax base….I was so upset to see this the other day!

According to the new deed I found the land sold for $900,000.
