apparently the crazy train has stopped in chester county

I can’t even with Chester County right now. It’s CRAZY. As in crazy train crazy.

Where to start?

Ok the first thing was the husband or partner of Caln Commissioner Lorraine Tindaro named Michael Bedrick who is all in with Chester County Democrats going to jail for child porn? And when I wrote about it I felt like Lorraine Tindaro was a victim of sorts in all of this because I am fairly certain she’s over 70 and his actions have quite literally blown up her life.

Also to add to that because it IS Caln is this was the same guy cited for some property condition issues wasn’t he?

See? I am not making this up. So he’s in prison, what happens to Lorraine with all of this craziness? I am not advocating for her, don’t know her, but I think she deserves compassion. However, I am also not saying I think she should necessarily stay a commissioner in Caln, either. If I had been hit by the Mack Truck of life like she has been recently, I don’t quite see how she will be able to do her job as a commissioner in Caln but hey, just my opinion.

However, oddly enough, that wasn’t the part of my opinion on this that upset certain folks. It was saying have compassion since her husband or partner’s decisions and choices just blew up her life at a time when most are just wanting to contemplate retirement, etc. And oy vey, some of the comments I got from one person. Yes, I did finally tell that person to STFU before I removed them and all the comments and blocked them. Which is my right and not against the law even on Facebook. Their comments went TOO FAR. They were making people uncomfortable. But then there were the boundary issues of it all where someone gave them my personal email address and after their messaging on Facebook was ignored, and yes they went there. Sigh. Calgon take me away.

Did I tell them to STFU? Yes I did and maybe they did not like that, maybe saying that was not nice but also not illegal. Also no Papal ring to kiss. And if I choose not to engage vis-à-vis what I felt to be an unwanted contact via messenger and just quietly blocked them there, how do they think a creepy AF email to my personal email address which I did not provide them with would be received? Kisses and flowers?

And if we are going all Chesco D for DEMOCRAT when it comes to the Chester County Democrat Committee is it still practicing Democrap behavior this year? Remember the spring primary and their candidategate? Here let’s refresh:

That was a fun post, right? I somehow don’t think Charlotte Valyo thought so. I bet her knickers were in a twist when her email to a local paper got leaked? And then there was the who ridiculousness kerfuffle of oh a blogger published that they must also be corporate espionage types who hack email, right? Except the truth of the matter is the Chester County Democratic Committee much like their GOP counterparts are like a leaky boat. People aren’t happy and others overshare, yes?

So Charoltte, dear dear Charlotte launches a very GOP eve- before- election- trick. It backfired and gave her optics that were deservedly terrible for pulling a bitch trick because at a minimum she and her cronies are TERRIFIED of independent candidates and try to squash then at every turn so everyone runs lockstep behind mommy and her clucking political chickens, right? Well guess what? Her case and her minions known as the filing five seem to have ended this case that was going to do so much?

Now this Phoenixville Country Club thing is not my story to tell. But it sure gives one pause yes?

And from the county level politically ridiculous we move along to Roostergate 2 in Willistown. Now there’s some fun. Hate mail a plenty. Messages, text messages, emails, messages to this blog. One of my favorites was this to the purchased manor born who told me to go back to Delco or something. I am not from Delco, but amusingly the poisonous pen pal was. It was such a bye post menopausal girl moment. And for those who like to say there is nothing about roosters in Willistown, well there was something and then mysteriously it was not signed even though the prior Roostergate, Roostergate 1 should have made it common sense clucking or something. And Roostergate 1 indicated some judge described rooster rules, but whatever. Just keep getting roosters and siccing people on me for my opinion. Nevermind the poor neighbors, right? Talk to the hand, people. I love chickens, don’t like roosters.

Oh and Willistown does actually have a noisy bird thing in their codes and the meeting the other night indicates this issue is not just in one place in Willistown:

So then we move from this bit of crazy train over to West Whiteland a couple of meetings ago:

So that is obviously a dicey neighbor situation. And painting profanities on a fence to upset a neighbor? That’s crazy town no matter how you are provoked.

This apparently was over fence boundaries? But the strife that was between the neighbors made you wonder back on May 10th, where were the police? I mean they keep the peace, right? It’s not always a “civil matter” is it? These people seem to live in between both Uwchlan and West Whiteland so there’s that. Betwixt and between two municipalities.

This was crazy train enough and then last Friday there were rumors of another neighbor on neighbor incident over there and someone got stabbed and was in the hospital? yet NOTHING until media reports yesterday?

AND STABBED? In that neighborhood? I don’t know anyone over there but friends in both townships say it’s a nice regular neighborhood which has the drawback mostly of kind of being in two townships. So then nothing is said by Uwchlan who responded although there is a court docket:

So this is hanging out there and one guy neighbor is in the ICU at a local hospital and the other guy neighbor is in jail? This is not normal this is crazy town and two families are blown up over this and two townships….yet it took until the media started asking questions for Uwchlan Township Police to issue a statement? WHYYYYYY? And I have to ask, could this have been prevented?

Then this hits the Daily Local:

There was a fairly large TV news report on NBC 10 yesterday also. Deanna Durante had the story:

Ok so I heard through local chatter that some are giving West Whiteland Supervisor Brian Dunn a hard time…for trying to do his West Whiteland Supervisor job fairly and for being kind to an upset woman at a public meeting in May? That’s what men who are grownups try to do: the right thing. Brian is a stand up guy. If I had to hazard a guess, this whole sequence of events is distressing to everyone. It is profoundly disturbing the way this escalated and there are no winners here. This is big time crazy train time. And listen to the news report on this. This whole neighborhood sounds like they were ALL living through this Hatfields vs. McCoys in Exton even if they weren’t involved. Now two families are kind of destroyed.

No winners here, none at all.

And finally, the ultimate crazy train for the week occurred on Sunday freaking afternoon on a quiet street in West Vincent. Not to be crass, but human freaking BBQ. That’s right, a burning dead body was dumped on Eagle Farm Road.

I have been getting LOTS of messages to the blog’s Facebook page about this. I know nothing more than anyone else. This is as creepy as F. But this is a dumped body. As in dumped and left . And this body was dumped in an area where you wouldn’t necessarily have security cameras abundantly present. So did no one see, or did someone drive by when some kind of vehicle would have had to pull over to dump a body, start a fire?

People. This is a case of if you SAW something, SAY something. Even if you don’t think it is important, you never know. Do I think the public is at risk over there? No my dears, your greatest risk in West Vincent is perpetual dumb ass politics and bad manager choices at least every other manager, right? You have a good police department and they care.

Do I think it would be NICE if the media covered this to get this out there more to the public regionally so this craziness can be case solved? YES. And no I don’t think this was a local person, this was an elsewhere dump. So maybe people who live on either side of the crime scene if you have trail cameras or security cameras start checking your footage for cars etc you don’t recognize or were driving oddly? You never know…

And then there is the AJ Blosenski of it all. I finally got our street cleared of the backlog of missed trash pickups and had a nice chat with two corporate overlord folks at Waste Connections. That was the accomplishment that pleased me yesterday. but now AJ Blosenski and Waste Connections need to do that for everyone.

But as for the rest of it? Swirling humanity and the crazy train stopping too long in Chester County? Enough already. It is freaking exhausting.

Just like the people who seem to think contacting me whenever about whatever and being utterly obnoxious a lot of the time is too much talk to the hand. I don’t suffer fools gladly, so fools, please stay in your lane. Everyone has opinions, I am but one person so why do you care so much?

And then a question I ask sincerely: Why is it wrong to show compassion for people at times?

We have had three pretty awful things happen lately: a stabbing that was the end result of a neighbor dispute that went on for far too long; a local politician’s spouse/partner went to jail for child porn which blew up lives and friendships because of collateral damage; a body BBQ due to a dumped burning murder victim in West Vincent Township in a quiet area with lots of kids.

Look at this local craziness as a microcosm of the larger picture of what is happening in our country. When does it stop? When (for example) do the political parties put down their pitchforks and meet in the middle for the benefit of ALL Americans? When did violence become the answer to everything? When did we stop feeling consistently safe in our own neighborhoods?

There is no simplistic answer to crime. But there is a simplistic answer to the bullshit and crazy behavior we see every day on social media that spills over into the real world and people actually think the behavior is OK? This behavior is NOT O.K. That is your simplistic answer.

People, breathe. Just freaking breathe. Enough stupid human tricks for a while.

dear developer, try harder in east whiteland

Remember, I wrote a post recently about a developer buying the Clews and Strawbridge site and wanting to plunk down yet more god damn apartments on Route 30 and in East Whiteland?

So that screenshot you see above is the letter that the developer is dropping by the businesses on Route 30 in East Whiteland seeking support. Well, I shouldn’t say the developer personally because then you would see him and his vanity plate on his car… nope he’s sending minions.

I just love developer minions, don’t you?

This means that we need to keep writing East Whiteland Township and keep voicing our opinion, and going to meetings. Because if they thought getting their rezoning and everything was a done deal, they wouldn’t be sending minions would they?

Thank you developer minions for amusing me.

rooster crowing issue continues in willistown

RoosterGate discussion is back. On June 8th, I wrote about the irascible, irritable rooster, waking everyone up in a neighborhood any time from 4 AM forward, usually around 5 AM in Willistown. I will note I am not making this my raison d être, but I am following up.

Well shockingly, it’s now 11 days later and after all the grief I took and the crap I took via comments and private messages, etc. about I was being mean and bullying the person who owned the rooster, which, of course is completely ludicrous as I’m expressing my opinion, but hey whatever have another cocktail. (And yes, holy run on sentence Batman!) And anyway, anyway, would you believe that the owner of said rooster has not done anything to remedy the issue?

Call me crazy but instead of sending people to chastise and harangue me for writing about said rooster, wouldn’t you try to do something so it wasn’t waking your neighbors up every day?

Yup. Rooster still free crowing and waking up neighbors. I guess this person with the rooster really needs attention or something right?

So now we get to see if Willistown is going to be an ostrich again over this issue and for how long. I say bring the popcorn.

Now amusingly enough in 2017, a woman for Michigan on Facebook offered to give away her rooster because it was that loud and obnoxious. See screenshots below ⬇️

And by the way, just so rooster owner fans are clear, I have an opinion on this. And that’s why I wrote about it. And I think it’s being a crappy neighbor to do this to people. I don’t have a thing against chickens, goats, or donkeys, other than I will say, billy goats and donkeys smell.

I will say I don’t particularly like roosters. And I’ve seen people do things like dump a bunch of roosters in front of my friend’s barn door years ago and make it their problem to rehome them. They were absolutely gorgeous birds, but they didn’t belong at my friend’s farm.

I have another friend who adopted a rooster with a broken beak, found wandering the streets of a not so nice section of Philadelphia, whom I suspect was either a bait bird or somebody trying to make it a fighting bird. I think that showed great compassion, but sad friend knows how to keep a rooster and has enough land to keep a rooster. And this bird was pretty traumatized, so I don’t even know if it knows how to crow.

And I just think in Willistown it goes back to it’s really rude and inconsiderate to not try to deal with this especially when you now know that your neighbors are upset. The rooster owner isn’t getting woken up just the neighbors. I think if the rooster owner was getting woken up, there wouldn’t be a rooster there. But is there actually zoning to be a rooster there in the first place and of course that’s also a moving target because it’s Willistown.

One inconsiderate rooster owner can cause issues for every single person who want to keep chickens in a municipality. And I think that is wrong. I was thinking about that this morning as I was working in part of my garden where I could hear the laying songs of the hens that my neighbors through the woods keep. Whenever I hear the hens singing their laying songs it’s a very comforting sound because they’re so happy.

Here’s hoping said rooster owner figures it out. Cock-a-doodle-do y’all.

People are all up in arms in Caln Township. You see, Caln Township’s Commissioner Lorraine Tindaro seems to be having optics issues and why? Well apparently her husband Michael Bedrick has a child pornography issue?

Now the ick factor on this is high. And it is rather curious that I can’t find any news reporting on this and usually child porn is like breaking news somewhere whether it’s local paper or TV. And of course, the added spice to this whole recipe of curious is the fact that this guy is married to a sitting commissioner in Caln Township, Lorraine Tindaro.

I will note that this local political couple showed up in dockets with something having to do with the Chester County Democratic Committee that was later withdrawn? What was this about?

And yes years ago in 2007 this guy was in a photo in a Philadelphia Inquirer article. But it’s important to note he actually wasn’t featured in the article he was just a caption and a photo.

So I do think it’s curious that this wasn’t picked up anywhere, not even by insipid Patch.

I don’t know what to think of this Caln Commissioner, I never have. She never opens her mouth. She is innocent of these crimes perpetrated by her husband, isn’t she? She wasn’t charged with anything but as far as bad optics? It doesn’t get bigger than this. I actually feel sorry for Lorraine Tindaro because I just do. You marry someone, you love them, you dedicate your life to sharing it with them, and then this happens. Will she remain a commissioner or step away?

I remember the explosive effect on Radnor Township when now former commissioner and president of the board Phil Ahr was charged and sentenced because of child porn at a federal level in 2019 (read Department of Justice press release HERE.)

Phil Ahr’s actions affected his family, his community, the men and women he served Radnor with.

I am not going to pretend to understand why people like pornography at all. I’m not being a Puritan about this I just have never gotten it. And when it comes to child pornography, how can you take pleasure in watching a child somewhere being exploited like this?

So no, no media to date has covered this. And it’s like the big tomb of silence because I am sure Caln Township is trying to run as fast as they can from this at a municipal level, aren’t you?

We have to be clear that Commissioner Lorraine Tindaro isn’t guilty of anything other than bad optics. We also have to consider that she’s kind of a victim in this. I’ve been thinking about it and I do feel sorry for her, but I also have to wonder if because of the optics and because she’s a local politician, it might be better for her to step away and step down for any number of reasons at this time? She has served her community for many years correct? So maybe now it’s time for someone else to take her spot?

Anyway once again, curious and curiouser in Caln. People should be kind to Lorraine Tindaro even if it would probably be best IMHO if she steps away.

This world is crazy and sad. And this is really sad and disgusting.

aj blosenski…it’s summer…trash can’t sit

A.J. Blosenski got bought out by a big nationwide company called Waste Connections and now it’s a long road of missed pickups. This is after a lot of us got dumped by Republic when they had a meltdown and White Tail just sucks.

We’ve been missing recycling, others straight stinky garbage, and yet even more are missing both. It’s a sheit show. You spend hours calling and get shoved to a voice mail for customer service that doesn’t return phone calls so do they even listen to the messages? I got through twice and essentially was lied to as to when pick up was actually occurring. The trash just sat.

We finally did get a pickup this past Monday but are still behind on pickups so you have to wonder are customer accounts being adjusted properly to account for these issues?

It seems like the once dependable A.J. Blosenski is experiencing merger pains because of their new parent company Waste Connections. It’s summer and while one wishes to be understanding, we’re talking about TRASH. East Whiteland Township looked into it for their residents and this is what they sent out yesterday:

It might be helpful if consumer affairs reporters looked into the refuse of it all. This is happening in many places. If a large company with MORE resources acquires a smaller company that once worked just fine and now doesn’t, something needs to be fixed.

when politics gives me pause

Octorara School District. It’s way out there in Chester County. And something I am struggling with is one of the candidates there and it’s not because of them per se or that I know them personally as I do not, it’s because of what their day job is and I don’t see how you can be a politician and a police officer.

And truthfully, I never would’ve paid attention, except their candidates page seems to be using the day job as a marketing tool for the political campaign, and I’m just not sure how that sits with me.

I’ve had family in law-enforcement over the years. I’ve had many friends in law-enforcement. Many of them had businesses on the side and side gigs but none of those side gigs involved being an elected official and a school board member is an elected official. A school board member is a politician.

And this one seems tied up with that contrarian person and their litigation if not formerly but by association? And then it seems like somebody sending weird letters to the contrarian person and I guess the police/ school board guy and why would somebody do that? That is WRONG no matter what you think of their politics. Doesn’t whomever get those things are always found out? And then you wonder, is it a political tactic that those letters are happening or is it somebody really doing something bad? Either way, it’s horrible and it’s wrong. These people have families.

I guess what I’m also asking is this anonymous letter thing is psycho by design? I’ve actually been the victim of things like this in the past and I remember when the postal inspectors came to pick up the questionable mail back then. What was sent to me went through all sorts of tests at I believe, a federal lab. It was no joke. These things are taken quite seriously and investigated thoroughly.

I am not now, and never have been anti-police, but it gives me pause in this situation when I stop to wonder how does their belief system affect their work potentially? I’m sorry if anyone thinks I think too much, but how do you not think about this?

I just don’t see how you can be both a politician and an officer of the law. I just don’t. I would also note what else gives me pause is this is someone who is also endorsed by Klanned Karenhood.

Anyone endorsed by that Stepford Wives for Totalitarianism you have to look twice at no matter what your politics are because the only way we’re going to get anything done in this area, in this county, in this country, in our individual municipalities and school districts is if we find a way to meet in the middle and those people aren’t about meeting in the middle. And the largest objection I have for them is they are based out of Florida they are NOT a group that is from Pennsylvania, these are people from outside our state, wanting to mess with where we call home and I think that’s wrong. They are an extremism group by their very nature aren’t they?

So there now to all of these candidates who wonder why I have such a problem with these endorsements understand why, even though they should be intelligent enough to already know why.

Anyway, if anyone has thoughts on the topic, I’d be willing to hear them. If anyone attacks me for posting this, I will file a police report.

I am asking legitimate questions I am not slamming anyone. But at the end of the day my feeling remains the same: police officer by day, and politician by night doesn’t work. Also, how do we know night job doesn’t bleed into day job?

So I wonder who West Vincent will pick for the next manager. They certainly are not very smart about it but what do I expect from that motley crew of stupidvisors? Cheer up Sarah maybe Bernie knows someone from West Conshy. He’s got relatives right?

I wrote about this manager once before because he’s the traveling man.

Supreme Court of Pennsylvania Restricts Sale of Parklands

So Sabine Park has been a park for what? 100 years give or take?

On June 15, 7pm, 80 Windsor Ave Narberth(attached to library building, next to ball fields). The Sabine Coalition will hold a meeting with their Attorney Phil Rosenzweig to address community concerns over Narberth Borough government attempts to harm this park. Rosenzweig has reiterated the state laws that protect this property to Narberth Borough leadership. Council has not responded to requests to meet with the public and have ignored Rosenzweig’s request to meet as well.

These are the apartments in Frazer known as “The Yards.” And like everything else being built today they look pretty much like everything else being built today.

I don’t find them attractive. I don’t find them architecturally significant. It looks like Legos put together for grown-ups to live in.

And these are the buildings that are being erected in communities all around the area. And it doesn’t matter who the developer is THEY ALL LOOK THE SAME.

Probably one of the only ones that I don’t find as offensive in Chester County are some in Paoli behind the train station. The Airdrie. But it’s still a similar design, only that has some actual setbacks, so it doesn’t smack you in the face along Lancaster Avenue and elsewhere.

But if you drive around, and you look at all of the apartment complexes being erected, they all are the same variations on a similar theme.

It’s NOT architecture.

I really started noticing these buildings when Eastside Flats in Malvern Borough were built. Most of these buildings have lousy setbacks, ignore human scale, ignore the architecture that exists around them, pretty much ignores everything that makes Chester County special.

The design in a word in my opinion, sucks. This is all about these developers, making money and moving onto the next project. It’s not about enhancing a community or enhancing a sense of community. These developers don’t care about our communities, we are just an area where they can make a profit.

From municipality to municipality it’s all the same. Literally Lego boxes for people to live in or plastic mushroom houses squished too close together.

Somebody gave me a hard time for saying I think these apartments are also ugly etc. and then they told me I was insulting people’s homes. Apartment dwellers don’t move into communities and stay forever. They are more transient it’s the nature of apartments.

If it’s a senior living community, it might be a little different, but the architecture is all the same and it’s all bad.

These developers are changing the nature of community quite literally. More and more. All of the rentals mean people stay for a while. They don’t stay like buying a home in a neighborhood. And even the nature of those neighborhoods with single-family homes are changing. Front end loaded cheek to jowl. No gardens. Just boxes with bad siding.

The developers are driving the real estate prices which is driving how long people stay if they stay. Sometimes just flip property and leave and so on.

There is quite simply put too much development. And there especially seems to be too many apartment complexes being built Chester County is looking more and more like King of Prussia. Does Chester County want to look like King of Prussia? Or Bensalem? Does Chester county want all these apartment buildings creating urban landscapes?

And when you post the pictures of these developments, people think someone’s palms are being greased. I don’t know anything about that what I do know is what allows these buildings, and these developments to march forward. The Municipalities Planning Code of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania or MPC.

The MPC has not been comprehensively updated since circa 1969. The MPC guides all local zoning. No one holds state representatives and state senators accountable for this. It is their job to an act an act of the state constitution and get off their asses and update the MPC .

However, there is also the fact that people really don’t bother to learn what is going on within their communities until there’s a crisis. People do not keep up with what local government is doing and what plans are being presented for development and there’s no excuse now really because meetings are hybrid and in person and recorded so if you can’t make a meeting, you can watch a recording of a meeting or you can watch a meeting via zoom platform or even YouTube.

If people went to meetings, local government would have a better idea of what they didn’t want before it actually happened. It wouldn’t necessarily be within municipal power to deny a plan, but they might be able to mitigate certain circumstances or conditions of approval.

Or when municipalities are updating comprehensive plans for municipality to municipality it’s not necessarily super exciting but it’s also something that residents ignore the opportunities they have to comment on these plans so again it’s another avenue of being able to get your message out there as a community as to what you want to see vis-à-vis development or not see.

And basically the hands of local officials are truly tied from protecting communities from bad development without the proper support from not only county planning but primarily because the MPC is so out of date.

It’s all a drag. I’ve spent years going to meetings and listening to meetings and going to meetings now via Zoom for a few years, but if you don’t pay attention to what goes on in your own community, you never learn.

I’m really sick of people that either want to complain to me about development or criticize me for not liking development. if they use half the amount of energy participating in their community as they do coming after me for my opinion, think of everything that could be accomplished from municipality to municipality?

I’m sure I will receive criticism for this post. I’m being mean I’m being unfair. Whatever. I don’t like all of this development. It all looks the same. It’s ruining the landscape that once was Chester county. And that people is the bottom line.
